don't forget girlboss Wendy who needs no Peter Pan, actually Peter Pan is a psychopath, and the lost boys are now gender inclusive

Isn't that true to the original book though?

don't know, don't care, this was a remake of Disneys Peter Pan, not an adaption of the original novel. Same deal with Little Mermaid and any other Disney live action remake.

I always saw the original Peter Pan as unchecked childhood. A 10 year old brat who only played games, who never had to follow rules and never had to grow up. He mainly exists as an allegory to tell kids that you shouldn't be afraid of growing up, not as a complex character to be directed. Sort of like Icarus

A 3d SotS with a cgi rabbit talking to uncle Remus would be pretty funny

Hunchback got a stage play to be fair, but that's been around since about the time the movie came out.

I’d say theatre is a different ballpark and is much more similar to animation since a key facet of musical theatre is the suspension of disbelief. Disney movies do translate quite well to theatre though.

Not a single one is safe, they will all be made into live action
They will merely change the story enough to fit "modern audiences"

I agree, but I think Pocahontas and Hunchback would have major rewrites in a similar vain to Dumbo’s remake. I think Pocahontas would be a really interesting case and a rare example of a remake that could potentially be made better, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. It is modern Disney after all. No clue what they’d do to Hunchback - probably make only Frollo say “gypsy” and remove the whole Court of Miracles scene. Quasimodo can be sexy too.

Sadly this. Hunchback will probably play up how the gargoyles are figments of Quasi's mind because he's "neurodivergent" or whatever the frick, and Esmeralda will be so tough that she's never captured, and of course Frollo will be an allegory for the white colonizer

Disney's Robin Hood because they wouldn't do me the favor of collecting all the furries together like that.

      >like the original 2D movie, all the characters are reskins of previous CGI Disney characters
Robin is Rocket Raccoon with a reddish tinge to his fur now

        >Hunchback will probably play up how the gargoyles are figments of Quasi's mind
That's how it should have been in the first place.

Yea, I could see Disney actually trying to FIX that bit, either making them full on imaginary friends and having none of the interactions with other humans, or making them more mysterious and possibly implied as being "twisted souls" that were condemned to gargoyle form to make them "le deep"

they wont make a literal colonizer a good guy and thats the whole point of the movie.

        easy enough fix
remove the line of him already having met other natives before and still have him just misunderstand natives. Also remove the romance. And of course any action scenes of him will be moved over to Pocahontas.

Fox and the Hound and Aristocats are probably safe. After the Lady and the Tramp remake bomb I doubt they will do any of their animal based movies over.

How do we know if Lady and the Tramp was a bomb? It was a Disney+ exclusive, which is where I would expect to see a potential Fox and the Hound or Artistocats remake.

101 Dalmatians (if we're not counting Cruela) already has a shit ton of remakes.
