I don’t think that anyone actually gets excited for Avatar. It’s just an excuse to get out of the house with the family in the winter, and it’s just pretty spectacle with nothing too divisive to say.
He can make whatever groveling and appeasing noises he wants to the matriarchy, but both Avatar films are unabashedly male-driven stories that focus on the trials of being a man, being a husband, being a father.
