That's because Poor Things is a manifesto of liberal feminism. Every stage correlates to a roastie's progression. They start as beautiful morons being taken care of by their parents, get fricked by people until they become literal prostitutes, then settle down with the nice guy back home to live a peaceful life.
The last 30 minutes suck for the same reason liberal feminism fails: there is no real change. Godwin's experiments culminated in Bella, and Bella chooses to simply become the new Godwin along with her cuck husband.
At first I was impressed by her ambitious statement. Then I thought back to all the women who aren't her that had a lot of sex but had more to worry about like making ends meet or keep their kids fed - none of which was about feminism but wealth disparity - the reality of most in the world. Feminism through fricking for fun seems limited like a luxury. For once I'd like to see what feminism looks like onscreen for a poor woman, or someone without Bella's social connections/status, etc.

The Favourite is the absolute peak of his work, everything else he's made since The Lobster has been dull garbage that's overly reliant on CGI. I have to laugh at people who rate him as a filmmaker when he drops CGI slop like this.
