Weren't the mice or rats going to chew his face? I left the theater shortly after that scene, I couldn't stomach more. People were giggling at Riddler's tryhard edgy acting from the beginning. Worst theater experience of my life.
In this movie, he's a thinly veiled strawman designed to ridicule anything they associate with the character. >anti-establishment >message board posters >gun rights >incels, etc
Which makes the whole meltdown scene so much more laughable, because it's transparently attempting to influence the viewer. In a normal movie, a character with his tragic backstory would be depicted in a more sympathetic way rather than making him a Saw-tier psycho who has embarrassing meltdowns. Here it's "everyone laugh at how this creepy loser gets his comeuppance". It's very weird and mean-spirited writing.
If you're going to tell the audience that a guy grew up getting gnawed on by rats in a freezing cold orphanage, then you probably shouldn't make them an irredeemable psychopath that gets mocked in your movie if you want it to be enjoyable for the audience. That's not a satisfying character arc. Really none of the characters are well developed. There's not a single person in this movie that you want to root for because the first priority wasn't telling a good story.
notice how the autistic male incel is the ONE (1) mentally ill category that the progressives will absolutely dehumanize with no quarter given
fat shaming is baaad ok but actual faulty wired, brain defective, beaten dogs going circles are open season
Unironically kino and adds so much to the scene. Whole game has Dante giving weird line deliveries and voice cracks, weirdly adds to the immersion that he really is just a guy at the end of the day - one with demonic powers sure, but still no perfect actor who never misses a beat and never shows any flaws or weaknesses. Here, though yes completely laughable at first, it adds a level of raw unguardedness to the scene.
Genuinely cannot imagine it having an emotional impact without the voice cracks. Not to mention it doesn't count since the series leans heavily on over the top comedy to begin with.
If you want a REAL laughable serious performance in a viddygame, the fricking ENTIRETY of Silent Hill 1 is a goldmine for serious moments that never once land.
>Silent Hill 1 is a goldmine for serious moments that never once land.
For me, it's the House of the Dead games >[extra whiny]I don't wanna die *dies* >[dead monotone] My god
I really really loved zooming in and looking at the knees of all the hung up victims here, for some reason they really detailed their knee caps extremely well, you can see every bit of bony definition through their knees, every victim you find hung up in arkham have extremely amazing knees, you can even imagine gripping it open palm
If that's what they were going for, it's a pretty worrying depiction. Autistic people are crazy and evil sadistic torturers? Same thing with Reeves' Joker. Apparently his condition is a birth defect. What's Reeves' thesis? That ugly people are evil?
I think it was a compare contrast of batman and riddler. Both being autistic frickers obsessed with vengeance. But batman being the champion of the night won’t debase himself to being a lowlife killer, something riddler didn’t really have the moral fiber to adopt.

but for a difference in upbringing they are basically the same person, if bruce had been the one in the orphans home and the riddler been the one in the penthouse they could have found each other on opposite sides of the glass.
but i mean the film is honest, most people willing to carry out a mass shooting/bombing or go around beating people to a pulp in the streets have a screw or two loose in the head
I think there has been a serious shift toward prioritizing 'vibes' above all else in the last couple of years.
The Batman is first and foremost a vibes movie. Trailers can't be separated from films either. In fact trailers set the vibe, the movie was just an extension of the trailer, an extension of the vibe.
Nah, it's just morons on the internet who rave about it cause they think they're dunking on internet autists with it, regular people forgot about this shit almost immediately
Not a regular capeshit reader/watcher here. Was The Riddler always this silly? I remember Jim Carrey being ridiculous in the role too. Is Riddler just an over the top character in general or did Dano and the director just say "Frick it" here,
I think the animated series and the Arkham games got him closest to right. He's supposed to be narcissistic, neurotic and vane, but not a full-blown screeching autismo. I have no idea how he ended up like he did in this film.
I like Paul Dano a lot so I did enjoy seeing go full autismo but the character was all muddled and fricked up. I like Robert Pattinson in it though, it was a much more interesting take on Batman. The movie was mid but at least I wasn't bored. Christopher Nolan's movies are just typical Hollywood schlock and Heath Ledger's Joker is fricking overrated and annoying.
Classic scene.
what from
From that same film
>”AIEEEE NOT THE MICE AAAAAAAAAH”
>just a dude with his head in a mouse cage
Weren't the mice or rats going to chew his face? I left the theater shortly after that scene, I couldn't stomach more. People were giggling at Riddler's tryhard edgy acting from the beginning. Worst theater experience of my life.
I think his portrayal of a shut-in sperg was spot-on
Agreed. The Riddler's not cool. He's a goober.
>The Riddler's not c-
This guy might as well have been the Snyderverse version of Riddler
He fit in that show cause it was th 00s and edgy twinks were all the rage
In this movie, he's a thinly veiled strawman designed to ridicule anything they associate with the character.

>Catqween smacks lips “ISALYALL WHITE RICH PEPOS FAULTS”
>Batman nods in agreement
>Making an Elliot Roger level INCEL a bad guy is mean spirited
Is this capeshit brain logic?

It’s Ellen Roger now
>anti-establishment
>gun-rights
Literal boomer talk

This. He's a 2smart4u sperg with a riddle fixation. Dude seethes any time someone is smarter than him.
Paul Dano is just a shit actor. He gave similarly a cringeworthy performance in TWWB.
>"serious" performance
>literal capeshit
Dumbass
i literally walked out of the theater at that scene
>classic Dano
The frick's your problem, Opee?
I can't.
>video games do it better

Spergs don't like how close to home that scene hit
everyone raves about this movie but i don;t remember a single thing about it. It was forgettable as frick.

this isnt this tiktok comments section
Wha?
its fricking boring
its just cinematic violence with no point. go watch gore its more authentic and dramatic
Nah, it's just morons on the internet who rave about it cause they think they're dunking on internet autists with it, regular people forgot about this shit almost immediately
>everyone raves about this movie
I've not seen a single person rave about it, they've only ever said it's shit.
how do we establish the worst 'serious' movie? its really a hard question.
The Zodiac/Riddler shit could have worked so well in a better movie.
Pity this character ending up looking and coming across like Battle Guy.
>Implying this wasn't supposed to be funny
Filtered
Classic performance
Jesse Eisenberg in Batman v Superman
Forest Whitaker as a gay fashion designer in Pret-a-Porter
Campy as frick not in a good way
Couldn't he easily just take that ring off his head..?
Couldn't the child just leave the time-out corner?
I guess I mean what's the point of the ring around his neck
not 10/10 but still a good batman kino
