robin hood isn't dead it just needs someone with a brain to rework it
the last time that happened was 1991 not prince of thieves btw, i'm talking about the other 1991 robin hood film made starring patrick bergan, uma therman and jurgen prochnow, it was supposed to compete with prince but ultimately became a tv film
the prequels are better
fast and furious 2 is better than 1
all of harry potter is trash
hobbit 1 is much better than two towers
snyderkino is better than anything in the marvelverse (including pre-mcu movies)
you're a tasteless pleb
they are
or at least, they are interesting even as failures
the OT is boring as shit and nothing about it is remarkable
bad scripts, poor characters, terrible action
i guess the practical effects kinda hold up and the music is nice, that's about it
Fast and Furious 2 is dog shit. The first one wasn't that good either, but it was still 10 times better.
Star Wars Prequels are also objectively dogshit, even everyone involved in making them admits as much.
Literally nobody thinks any Hobbit movie is better than any of the LoTR movies, also including the people who made it.
you're just being a contrarian homosexual spewing shitty bait literally nobody believes, here's your (you)
two towers is a shit movie, anon
i'm being generous to rotk because it has more decent scenes than ttt overall, but both are pretty bad
hobbit 1 has some cringe shit (like the ogre with the cgi balls or whatever he is), but overall it's got way better structure than ttt and rotk and it's much closer to the spirit of the hobbit than ttt/rotk are to lotr
rotk in particular, if you're a fan of the book, is an abomination
you got that wrong anon
first hobbit is decent but outside of the cave with gollum it's nothing to write home about
second hobbit is where shit really shines
third is mid
meanwhile lotr is kino all the way through, even with two towers and return getting massive rewrites
i don't even know what's in the second hobbit movie compared to the third
it's all a blur >meanwhile lotr is kino all the way through
i really don't think so
but obviously, i'm saying it's bad in light of fotr, compared to modern trash they're 11/10 masterpieces

sauron in his necromancer form at dol goldur
aquaman was also decent
snyder cut was good, but i hate the 4:3 ratio
personally i liked the wonder woman movies but i don't get upset if people call them shit
bvs was mid, would have been better without wonder woman or the metahumans setup, also should have came after man of steel 2
didn't see anything else in the dceu
oh wait the suicide squad movies also sucked and the harley quinn movie was shit too
Why can't you boomer fricks just accept that the prequels weren't made for you? Lucas always aimed Star Wars primarily at 12 year old boys so it shouldn't be a shock to you that people who were around that age when the movies came out resonated with them more.

I was 12 when AOTC came out and immediately recognized it sucked.
The Phantom Menace is the only decent movie out of the prequels and it’s still much worse than the original trilogy
Wrong, Disney didn't have full control of the MCU until after the first Avengers movie, and the results of their influence wasn't seen until after "Age of Ultron"....after that all the MCU movies turned to shit, until we got Infinity War and Endgame.
(in order of their release)
1) Iron Man
2) Incredible Hulk
3) Iron Man 2
4) Thor
5) Captain America
6) The Avengers
7) Iron Man 3
... these were not Disney produced movies. They were done by Paramount, even if Disney bought them during 2009, the most they could do is celebrate owning the movies under their banner, and could not be influenced on the eve of their release.
8) Thor: Dark World
9) Captain America: The Winter Soldier
10) Guardians of the Galaxy
11) Avengers: Age of Ultron
These movies were produced mid-way through the Disney deal. And you can ACTUALLY see the tonal shift that occurs with AoU, when Disney decided to bully out the talent after believing they cracked the formula with GotG.
12) Ant-Man
13) Captain America: Civil War
14) Doctor Strange
15) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2
16) Spider-man: Homecoming
17) Thor: Ragnarok
18) Black Panther
Now look at the next batch...pure capeshit, uninspired, hardly original. Cool SFX, interesting continuity, fanboy shit for the comic geeks, sure, but boring to the average movie goer. They tried too hard in emulating the GotG formula (that balance of light-hearted comedy with superhero seriousness).
19) Avengers: Infinity War
20) Captain Marvel
21) Avengers: Endgame
The whole infinity stone saga sub-plot is what kept most people on their ride. And to be honest, they did frick it up a lot. Honestly, it did turn out to be 'good' for the most part, but you can tell (just like with Star Wars) when Disney buys an unfinished franchise they "GoT: Season 7/8" the whole thing in the process.
>the tonal shift that occurs with AoU, when Disney decided to bully out the talent after believing they cracked the formula with GotG.
Finally somebody else notices this shit. GotG's popularity turned everything into an insincere snarkfest.
Exactly, that's the thing. GotG was a good movie, but only for itself and Gunn's vision. It worked taking a B-list comic title and making kino on the movie screen.
...but in Disney's eyes, they thought 'if they made all their movies like that, we don't need to spend money any talent from here on out', just take a bunch of diversity hires and put them on auto-pilot.

It was infuriating watching them fumble Thor so badly that they felt the need to turn him into a second Star-Lord.

Exactly again, you see that too.
Thor "was" supposed to be the High-Fantasy leg of the MCU. Swords and Sorcery, Dungeon n' Dragon, kind of thing.... I mean, look at who they hired as a director "Kenneth Branagh", Mr. Shakespeare trained actor himself to manage it.
Yes, the first Thor movie wasn't that great, (still entertaining tho), they decided to take another crack at the High-Fantasy angle with one of the Game of Thrones showrunners to keep the experience in that setting.
Yes, that didn't turn out great either.... so Disney applied the "GotG formula" and we got Ragnarok, which was basically GotG-lite, with that extra dash of woke-shit, while butchering any chance of seeing a World War Hulk movie too. Funny and exciting as Ragnarok was to the average brain-dead movie goer....it was in fact a shitty post-Disney movie.
>Lord of the Rings >everything except original trilogy is shit
I liked the Rankin/Bass Hobbit animated film. Haven't seen the other Rankin/Bass LOTR movies yet.
It's not very dead. It's not even close. If deadness of a franchise was a spectrum with something like Star Wars or Doctor Who on one end (death) and on the other end things like Godzilla or maybe One Piece or whatever then Jurassic Park and James Bond would be like 2/3 of the way but closer to "alive"
Just moments ago new Jurassic movie was announced. Of course new movies don't mean a franchise is alive or dead or rather if it's in good shape or not.
Written by Koepp. He's not what he used to be but he's been good for this franchise so there's a chance. Perhaps Universal is learning after all. Yeah the franchise has problems in unleashing its full potential but it's far from dead.
it's absolutely dead. while jurassic world and fallen kingdom got either mixed or somewhat positive reviews, dominion was concurrently declared crap and the next movie is planned to either retcon dominion's ending or be a reboot.
The last two got mixed to negative reviews but now people aren't angry about them or anything. Even the fans have JW movies they love and hate but the brand is really strong among kids. A new movie is a no brainer given the merch sales. There's a new game and cartoons if anything Universal didn't fully capitalize on the hype and missed the mark with the sequels but it has the potential to be the fourth biggest movie series (SW, Marvel and DC are paramount no matter their failings).
Right now Jurassic Park fans are mostly jealous of its sister franchise.
>There's a new game
There's a trailer with no gameplay and too much nostalgia pandering, yes. >cartoons
You mean the one with robot butlers that shoot electric balls at people on an island with tech so advanced they can change the weather and control dinosaurs with game controllers while a bunch of kids have random bursts of PTSD in the background? People want a sequel to that?
When will you morons learn that just because a franchise is still producing content doesn't mean that it's in a good or even healthy state?
Jurassic hasn't been Jurassic since 2003.
>Right now Jurassic Park fans are mostly jealous of its sister franchise
i'm only jealous because i'm still patiently awaiting my roland tembo spinoff, otherwise no us park sisters are eating pretty good still, there hasn't been a good dinosaur movie since 2001 and it will stay that way until i get into the industry

Man of Steel was the most tolerable, but it was still shit.
they tried that dark realism shit that Nolan's trilogy had, but it was completely shallow and stupid.
MCU at least fully embraces its sillyness and tries to be high quality slop. MoS was just cringe
Original star wars is shit and cringe old man
all star wars is shit, original trilogy was at least comfy, great cast, and great music.

I assume by franchise they mean the recent stuff,
just like the 70-90s Marvel movies aren't part of the modern MCU franchise
It's been dead since 2012.
bold and brave
what about actual dead franchises like Gremlins.
two movies and some merch don't constitute a franchise, it needs all that and a tv series to be considered one
Whatever happened to rians trilogy?
officially still on the books, he's planning to develop it once he finished the knives out movies
I don't know how they made dinosaurs so unfun in the last decade but they fricking did it.
