      >I feel like a poser never having read any of the novels.
      here you go
      >"Bond came to the conclusion that Tilly Masterton was one of those girls whose hormones had got mixed up. He knew the type well and thought they and their male counterparts were a direct consequence of giving votes to women and 'sex equality.' As a result of fifty years of emancipation, feminine qualities were dying out or being transferred to the males. Pansies of both sexes were everywhere, not yet completely homosexual, but confused, not knowing what they were. The result was a herd of unhappy sexual misfits--barren and full of frustrations, the women wanting to dominate and the men to be nannied. He was sorry for them, but he had no time for them"

Considering how campy Bond movies are I'm convinced skipping the novels is no loss at all.

better reads than the movies in terms of campiness but I wouldn't recommend reading them all as at that point you could read more important works in that time

they're incredibly easy reads and it's very fun reading and realizing what a direct, simple, and hilarious man Fleming must have been. I used to enjoy reading them by the pool on family vacations.

I'm guessing at least 99.9% of the Bond fandom are movieonly secondaries

Ok, can we talk about how he brings in a bunch of rich bad guys, first asks if people want to hear his plan, someone says no and so he has them killed. Then he tells the remaining people his plan and kills them too? Like what was the fricking point?

His plan was to irradiate the federal gold reserve, he just wanted to tell them his plan so he could have the satisfaction of besting his business rivals before he killed them. And killing the ones who refused was just a demonstration of power to the pussies who said yes.

All adaptations are better. Novels are inherently an inferior storytelling format. Never let some homosexual tell you "the movie version got X wrong" because any changes are for the better.

you share movies with room temperature normalgays, unlike novels. movies have to kill off multiple characters and write forced romances to keep the audience awake,

That doesn’t even make sense anyway since Fort Knox’s gold doesn’t circulate.

also fort knox likely does not have any physical gold in it any more.

Why can't there be a movie where the leading girl is covered in gold like that all the time with no explanation or acknowledgement

In the cutlrrent year, adaption means fill it with Black folk, fembosses, and homosexuals. Back then they actually tried and it generally turned out pretty good.

Goldfinger is so overrated. It's boring as frick and has the worst later half. I think Thunderball is way better.
