The only time I ever felt some form of depression in my 40 years of life, when I tuned in the news every day at the same time. It felt like any day now the world could end. For the sake of enjoying life again, I decided to turn of the news. 10 years later and not a single depressing thought since then, and the world hasn't changed one god damn bit since then. When I turn the news on nowadays, they still say the same crap as 10 years ago (and probably 20, 30, 40 years ago). Nothing changes, some wars there, some natural disasters in that place, some moron shooting up a school, the same shit over and over again, and nothing that affects me. Even if one of those were to affect me, hearing it in the news wouldn't change anything.
And you've already forgotten Azerbaijan vs Armenia despite all the deaths and refugee crises. Or Pakistan herding millions of Pashtuns and other nomads out of their country and into Afghanistan against their will.
