Everyone is so angry at this and yet I never watched Regular Show. What's so horrifying about this exactly?

At that point in the show and even before, RS was pumpping these love drama eps that nobody gave a shit about, it underveloped mordecai into being likeable to being insufferable, they tried to fix this with rigby, but his development got retconned or flanderized at s8 making his arc pointless, RS became shit throughout its runtine, when they started doing the love drama

Mordecai ruins muscleman's wedding by standing up and saying that he hates his girlfriend completely out of nowhere. Relationshit was always the worst part of Regular Show but Mordecai dating CJ was much better than him simping for what's her face. But the writers wanted to reset the status quo so all of a sudden Mordecai is unhappy with his girlfriend and develops autism simultaneously.

          Anonymous

CJ was generally a shit character who somehow develops overtime in that said season learned that her catastrophic outburst was actually killing everyone around her, including Mordecai himself, than her early appearances. S6 was the moment that the show shat the bed very hard and it never recovered afterwards.

          >rigby, but his development got retconned or flanderized at s8 making his arc pointless

S8 in general has an atrocious shit writing (aside from the finale) that they decided to end with a shitty space arc that made no sense and it's quite frankly that nobody gives a shit about it.

        Anonymous

Essentially Mordecai spends most of the series simping over a girl that doesn't really care about him. Eventually she moves away and he starts dating a girl named CJ that he has a lot in common with. Margaret, the girl he originally simped for, ends up moving back. Mordecai then decides to dump his girlfriend CJ in front of everyone at his friend's wedding to announce that he still wants to frick Margaret.

After uncountable seasons of a love triangle and Mordo spilling his spaghetti, maturing, fricking up again and maturing some more he made the mother of all cringe in the middle of Muscleman wedding, he fricked up so bad he ended up alone and CJ walked out of the story never to be see again despite being an enjoyable character.

Just so you know, a fresh rating is like 61%, meaning a critic can say something sucks a lot and it won't count as a rotten rating unless they give it lower than a 7/10

        Anonymous

Audience score is 67%, unless Im misunderstanding how the scoring works on rt that implies a generally favorable response doesn't it? So that and a good critical reception to me doesn't signify fan outrage.

          Anonymous

Audience score is even less reliable, not that 67% is good even by RT's curve.

            Anonymous

How is that less reliable? Why is that not considered good? Is there a reason a good critical and audience response would mean it outraged people?

Thats a cool look tbh. Blends the idea of her being an otherworldly warrior goddess with her also having spent a significant period of time in our world. The cropped jacket helps emphasize her athleticism as well. She's maybe a little too waify to properly sell the badass warrior woman image but that's been a thing since before buffy. I'd say make her a bit stronger looking and maybe throw on some kind of armored thigh high, but what I'm seeing there is alright.

It's not bad, but you know what the problem is? It's too modern and casual for someone like Wonder Woman, but it'd work for one of them Wonder Girls. It looks like a Wonder Girl version of Superboy. Imagine Superman having a Superboy look as his default, it doesn't work, but it does for a sidekick/younger hero.

Seems a weird move to prove that point by shoving in a bunch of shit that the fans would hate for basically hijacking Rocko's story for Rachel, but I guess I can respect the hustle since well they already got their money what would they care what their fat old millennial audience thinks, yeah?

Doesn't look like fans disliked it though, it got a good reception. Did you confuse you not liking something for everybody not liking it?

          Anonymous

No, not really anon, I just heard other people than the ones you consulted saying they weren't fans of it. And like I said, I don't have to personally like something to respect what they do with it, since I don't own Rocko's Modern Life.

            Anonymous

Oh. But I heard from people other than the ones you mentioned that they liked it. That plus the critical reception and general audience response to me indicates it did well, especially for a one off cartoon reboot. To me that doesn't spell outrage.

              Anonymous

I don't think I was talking about outrage. I was talking about the idea of the show enforcing the theme of "Don't ask for nostalgiabait cause you'll be too old enough to enjoy it" by outright doing the same thing with their show via dropping Rocko's story of getting his show back on the air until the last second in favor of retreading the old story of Ed and his offspring's tattered relationship, just now Ralph is Rachel. Wasn't that the point?

              >shoving in a bunch of shit that the fans would hate
Rocko was always a "cynical" show that embarrassed its main character. There had also already been a couple of "Fatheads" episodes where Ralph is the "primary" focus, which makes sense when they write a story about trying to get his show back on the air. You can seethe about "what the FANS wanted!", but it's as close to the original series as a reboot/revival/whatever you'd call it has been to its source material. You're just mad they made it about a troony.

              Who's seething?

I thought you were defending the op's claim that it offended fans. If you just didn't like it personally but recognize it did decently in terms of reception then I've got nothing more to say, thats totally normal and taste is subjective.
