Finchers Dragon Tattoo is superior to the Swedish film and the book it’s based off of

Yeah, I'd agree with that even though I prefer Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth.

But really saying anything is Tom's worst movie isn't an insult, he's a kino machine the likes of which will never be repeated

Knight and Day is a fun dumb action comedy flick, agree with Far and Away, that shit is the only Cruise film I dislike.

Season 3 was good and better than Manhunter.

I like Manhunter more myself but I thought they did a good adaptation of Red Dragon here, Dolarhyde was a bit boring though.
Would’ve been cool if they had been able to adapt SOTL.

I liked Manhunter until the very end. Thought the Dolarhyde fight felt straight out of a different movie. The editing gets insane, I would bet intentionally to make it seem like "Will has entered a different, unfamiliar world of violence" or some artsy reason, but it just doesn't work and is visually abhorrent compared to what was established.
I do agree Dolarhyde was done wrong in the show, as Manhunter was more about Will/Francis while Hannibal is more about Will/Hannibal, so with the different dynamic he was bound to be less interesting as we'd see less of him, but they didn't have to do him as dirty as they did.
SotL probably would have been season 4, my guess. Shame we'll never get it, I loved the show in its entirety a lot.

I read that the finale of Manhunter is shot kind of weird because Michael Mann was forced to shoot it on a handheld camera for budget reasons, not sure how true that is though.
Here’s hoping someday we’ll get some more homolust kino.

            >Here’s hoping someday we’ll get some more homolust kino.
Seems like a show that should have been picked up back when streaming services were popping up left and right to fight for some of Netflix's share. Though I've heard executives say that they just want the initial bump of subscribers a new (or revived) title gets them, and maybe Hannibal wasn't big enough of a draw? Real shame, but hey, here's hoping from me, too.

I thought Manhunter was pretty poorly paced and had a weak script overall, but maybe that's just me

If the ending was better, I would think it was just the textbook definition of slow burn, but since it really shits the bed in the finale, the whole movie has a reek to it for me. Another funny issue (one that even if you like that ending is undeniable) is twice in the movie, an actor messes up their line and it's just left in. William Peterson messes up a word, stammers, and just painfully plows through it while watching Dolarhyde's tapes, and the boy playing his son butchers a line and starts over in the grocery store. The kid looks like he's reading off a cue card way off to the side the whole time, too. The movie disappointed me big time.

This movie brought up a lot of personal feelings of regret for me about the past and an all too brief relationship that I fricked up that haunted me for years. Watching it felt like giving birth to a miscarriage. It dominated my thoughts for a week or two and I watched it again. I don't think I'll watch it ever again but I'll still think about it from time to time.

Haven't seen her in seven years. It was just the anniversary of the last time but sometimes I still feel the bruise.
