They return to home, and continue with their lives. Everyone except skips marries and then make a reunion party many years later. Mordecai's wife is a bat, and now he's an abstract art moron. Good lord. Another case of the showrunners and executives becoming moronic and throwing to the trash some good opportunities. Obviously the last season was bad.

Adventure time is an oversatured show it has too many characters for its own good as well for its lore/plots when they just keep sidetracking and don't focus on one singular plot like other shows do.
Regular show in the other hand just got boring or reptetitve due to its formulaic format especially when rewatching the show the jokes and lines get stale for me as time goes on, also its lore/plot the space shit just fricking sucks least with adventure time it was at least interesting at first.
Also both shows seem to start to degrade in quality when they introduced melodrama go figure

As a casual sonic enjoyer that doesn’t give a frick about continuity outside of penders drama it’s somehow overrated and overhated at the same time.
Solid first season, mixed bag second. Which is still impressive for a show attempting continuity during an era without streaming or even a lot of series collections.
Castwise Robotnik and Snively are excellent and pretty good as the villains. Bunnie is best girl and was always a joy to watch. Sally’s okay but they really were stretching the hell out of the girl power thing, she was borderline Mary Sue. Sonic’s voice got a bit grating after awhile especially with the clearly old men trying to write hip young teen slang shit. Rotor and Tails are just kind of there, giant shame for the latter. and goddamn was Antoine and his starring episodes terrible, comedy wise and as mood and pace breakers . Even if that was the point to dissuade execs from interfering like couldn’t they have just read it o they could reject it before animating that crap?it’s a 6.5/10

Often what we enjoy is experiencing a new thing or sharing that thing with people. After something is no longer new and there are few people to also talk to about it, our experience changes.
We also march closer to the grave making life around us grimmer, impacting how we interact with things.
Some things are as good or better with age, but that is only because of layers that adult us can still enjoy that child us might not have been able to see. Or maybe it has robots, dinos, ninjas or breasts, which are all timeless
