Always wondered why Bismark got so shafted over the decades in terms of toys and general reinvigoration of the brand.
You'd think that it would've gotten at least a minor Voltron-treatment by now but all that came out was what, a comic book and a game in development hell?
That's the DX, by the way, right? Love the poncho-flap gimmick of that one.
Yep, he's a really cool Clint Eastwood esque design that was only possible in the 80s. Mine is the Chogokin DX but unfortunately I don't have the box or treads for the ship mode, he was already pretty pricy and hard to track down as is and wasn't worth dropping nearly a grand for one boxed
Yeah, I could've sworn the blue was WAY deeper and more vibrant back when I bought it.
Not to mention that I had the same issue with the metallic blue on the SRC God Reideen which faded to blank silver, as did Dendoh's golden chest highlights.

The blue is the minor issue, anon. It's the metallic red fading to shit what ruins it. It happened to mine in just a few months after I bought it when it was first released and have it in storage for that very same reson.
Bandai's metallic paint reacted badly over the softer plastic parts, that's why the chest is the only thing that isn't discolored. Have another figure from them with the same problem, but not as apparent.
Totally forgot about the red. Especially on the Tau Missiles it looked like as if it didn't dry properly and pooled along the edges.
It's actually a relatively easy fix and you don't even need to pop open some clear red paint.
A normal, water resistant permanent marker is already enough in this case due to the details being relatively thin on most of the PVC parts and it makes the red look almost the same as it originally did.
I guess it will still look metallic because the silver coat is still in the figure, right? Will have to try, would be great to save that guy from being forgotten in the closet.
Not at the moment, though I'll admit it really only makes sense to own 2 of them for Mao and Kurz.
Tangent: anyone have any good references for doing dioramas in 1:48 scale? The MB FMP figures are all in that scale and it's kinda my endgame plan to showcase a full SRT squad doing tactical maneuvers or something.
Yeah, both Goldymargs can transform into the Marg Hand/Goldion Hammer and also GoldyTank mode. The one on the bottom is the original 1997 toy, the other one is the way more recent Soul of Chogokin (pic related).
All of the robots in those shelves can transform other than the small MightGaine at the bottom, all the little ones on the middle and the Genesic on top.
It’s a terrible investment and toy collectors especially of the vintage kind are obviously overcompensating for something and should seek professional help. I bet your solid income can afford that.
>big chunks of plastic and diecast brings you happiness
That’s not logical. If you’re a child, you can play with them and that’s fun. As an adult, it’s pure nonsense to keep these around
>That’s not logical
Are you legit autistic? I like certain shows. I like certain robots from those shows. I have a small collection of toys and models of those robots from those shows. Usually they just sit in thier display case and I admire them randomly when I passby the case. Other times I take one from the case and look at it more closely. Sometimes I transform the robot (if it does that) and sometimes I repose the robots. All of these activities bring me pleasure. Sometimes it just calms me down to focus on one of my robot toys. Sometimes I just get nostalgic and want to see one. I also get pleasure from finding and purchasing obscure /m/ toys. I just enjoy it, and I can more than afford it. What's so difficult to understand about any of this?

You get pleasure from looking at a piece of plastic and I’m the autist? Sure thing. pal.

You are an autist for not understanding that people can enjoy different things than you.
>Anyone who collects something is overcompensating and needs professional help
holy shit buddy go outside sometime and talk to a normal person you've been on 4chins too long

>NO YOU CAN'T JUST HAVE A SHELF FULL OF OLD TOYS YOU LIKE, YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE HOBBIES
Normal people don’t fill their houses with old junk. That’s an unstable mental condition.
If I can flip them whenever I'd like, I don't think its the worst investment when everyone else my age throws all of their money at drugs or video games. Why would you enter a thread dedicated to something you dislike just to shit up the thread?
Is that yours?
Yes
Can you share some photos of the Ideon? Looks very neat.
Tomy's DX Ideon was pretty cool, the space truck thing was weird but the diecast and spring loaded mechanisms are neat
Trucks
I like them and they make me happy, get lost
this is fricking awesome. I hope I can get my hands on a transformable Ideon one day, for now I'm just happy looking at pictures of it.
Awesome thanks.

Very nice, OP.
okay
and backlog
Huh, so the fading blue color on Tauburn's wienerpit orb seems to be a common issue.
Yeah, I could've sworn the blue was WAY deeper and more vibrant back when I bought it.

Reminder that /m/ is a Bandai board, so if you don't like Bandai get the hell out of here.

Anyone want to play a rousing game of why the frick did you buy that many Gernsbacks?
Plan on selling one of those?
Not at the moment, though I'll admit it really only makes sense to own 2 of them for Mao and Kurz.

I goddamn told you months back that only sosuke, kruz, and mao pilots them. Somehow you misheard me and bout 7 more mbs. Goddammit anon, 1 job.
There's a handful of guys who get redshirted in M9s across the storyline, actually! I regret nothing!!!
Too lazy to take pics of everything but here are some of my shelves.
Will post more later if I can, but most of the rest of my /m/ related stuff is mixed with non-/m/ figures.
Orgun and Blade are my favorite GGG characters
Kek. I had free space there that needed to be filled. It works as a Super Robot Wars W nod I guess.
A SRW lineup is one my goals
What's the one next to the alt and gusion?
Something from Sakura Wars
Nice complete GGG set, I love Chouryujin but had to sell them because of mortgage
Dang how tall is that J-Ark figure?
The takara one is 40cm
Yeah, Kig J-Der is 42cm tall if I remember correctly. Was my biggest toy for years until I bought Fortress Maximus.
Nice GGG collection!
Do any of the goldymergs actually combine with ggg into goldion hammer?
The one on the bottom does at least

Might as well burn money while you’re at it.
It's a shelf of mecha toys, anyone with a real job can afford that while barely touching the discretionary income.
It’s a terrible investment and toy collectors especially of the vintage kind are obviously overcompensating for something and should seek professional help. I bet your solid income can afford that.
>he doesn't play with his toys
>It’s a terrible investment
homie they're toys. It's an investment in your daily happiness.

Holy projection batman hahahaha
What am I supposed to do? Download my toys?
>You wouldn't pirate a Soul of Chogokin
>NO YOU CAN'T JUST HAVE A SHELF FULL OF OLD TOYS YOU LIKE, YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE HOBBIES
This is hoarding, not a real hobby.
If I can flip them whenever I'd like, I don't think its the worst investment when everyone else my age throws all of their money at drugs or video games. Why would you enter a thread dedicated to something you dislike just to shit up the thread?
To be fair, video games are a waste of time and money too. But at least not of space. If you ever need to move, those things will be a nightmare.
Holy shit you got R Jetan and Baikanfu. That is some great showa era gokin right there
