your brain is a pattern-recognition machine and you've seen this particular frame so many times that now all you need is a vague approximation in the appropriate context to bring it to mind.
I use MS paint. I click "select all", then I resize the width or height(whichever is shorter) to 8 pixels and then I squish the image together so it becomes 8x8.
Here's another segment from later in the scene/sequence
Your second gif confuses me even more. In the first gif it looks like a girl riding a guys wiener for a brief moment and your second gif looks like a spaceship crashing into earth or something.
>Star Trek >ST
No, but you've got the right acronym
Here's a 32 pixel version that actually looks pretty kino. Reminds me of fmv cut scenes from 90s video games
Oh for frick sake. I fricking knew that was Denise Richards too, even from the smaller ones. Starship Troopers.

Lol, correct
Also, I think this version in 64 pixels is even better looking. 64 pixels tall is the perfect video resolution...
Someone tell Zack Snyder this! WE NEED TO GO BACK

This is just an FMV game from the 90s at this point.

Yes but imagine how much money studios could save on CGI if they only had to render videos 64 pixels tall

Can you apply a CRT shader too? I bet it would look real good then.

I did some quick googling, and seems possible, but I'll give that a try later
Also, here's 128 pixels
One of the things that makes this one so easy is the very clear delineation of sky and ground tones and the foreground subject separated from the background. Many other "iconic" scenes don't fare so well with this method on account of being much busier visually.
>64 pixels
>can still identify the movie and scene
Why is the brain so weird?

Ok, I just downloaded the whole scene (sequence really) from YT and wrote an ffmpeg filter to pixelate it into a webm
It's possible that I just haven't seen the movie.
