          Do we agree with this
          TPM, ESB, RTJ = PG
          >May contain mild language (frequent/aggressive use may result in the work being passed at a higher category) or sex/drug references. May contain moderate violence if justified by context (e.g. fantasy). Unaccompanied children of any age may watch, but parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger, or more sensitive, children.[54]
          ROTS becoming 15
          >May have fairly mature themes. May contain (frequent) strong language, strong violence, strong sex references, nudity without graphic detail and hard drugs. Sexual activity may be portrayed but without any strong detail. Sexual violence may be shown if discreet and justified by context. Use of very strong language may be permitted based on frequency and how it is used, as well as contextual justification.[56]

They've been redoing the ratings for certain films like James Bond because in Goldfinger he assaults & rapes Pussy Galore.

Also, this is why having the original proper cuts of films on disc, is now important.

They've starting doing warnings on stuff because of out dated language.

With literally some changes it would have been loved by audiences.

    Qui Gin si already Obiwan.
    Obiwan is Anakin.
The relationship between Anakin and the queen is no longer ridiculous.
No Tatooine, if everything happened between Naboo and Coruscant it would have been better.
Maul replaces Sidious in all scenes and begins hunting the Jedi like Death in Last Wish, and it is a real threat.
Anakin sacrifices an arm, but defeats Maul and becomes a Jedi.

The whole chosen one Anakin was stupid and shouldn't have been there. Episode 1 is well paced, just needed to make the stakes higher and not have a kid around.

Actually no. The tatooine was in fact a filler in the main plot, a detour they had to make that only serves to find Anakin. That screen time could have been used to give more depth to Naboo which for once doesn't have a single city. The Race could have been something that was done on Naboo too.

yes, the whole movie about the rise of a galactic empire should take place on a single planet or as few as planets as possible. it makes no narrative or aesthetic sense to maximize the number of planets showcased to demonstrate the width and berth of the galactic scale of the story or anything. showing tattoonine as lawless and fringe. we didnt need the whole narrative explaining where anakin's pain that leads to him becoming darth vader came from. it would have been much better if it all happened off screen, like in disney nu wars kylo ren!!!! also remember how cool it was when we just meet Rey and she just somehow lives alone by herself but is also good at everything like swimming and flying space ships and stuff. much better than if they had given either of the two main characters any depth or character development!!!!

seeing darth vader as a 'cute innocent little kid' who loves his mom and loves helping strangers was entirely the point. if the character just started off as an angsty spoiled teenage jedi knight the character would have been a failure - again like kylo ren. child anakin was absolutely essential to what the story as george lucas wanted to tell it.

                >Not everything needs to have its backstory explored in depth.
bro, its a PREQUEL. aka THE BACKSTORY to the previous story. anakin's story is literally the story of the prequels. its the entire premise of their whole story. without anakin's backstory there is no star wars prequel story. are you dense? what else would it have been about?

It could have not existed at all, which would have been preferable. The throwaway line about the "Clone Wars" in the original film was more interesting and evocative than anything in the prequels.

Creating an interesting world and doing less with it, and allowing the viewer to utilize their own imagination and sense of wonder to think about it, is better than filling in every scrap of "lore" and inevitably ruining it.

The whole narrative point was just to show how pure Anakin was. The same could have been done by showing him as a good, naive and absolutely honorable young Jedi Knight like Steve Rogers.

The Kid was a choice by Lucas because he wanted to direct the film to children, and it is not excluded that it was initially older given the age difference with the queen which makes everything morbid and creepy.

The best part of the prequels was Palpatine finagling his way to the top. A series focused on Coruscant intrigue with a just a dash of forcegayging and lightsabers would be kino.

    >The phrase "a communications disruption could mean only one thing" is a quote from the character Darth Maul in the movie "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace." In the context of the movie, Darth Maul's statement implies that a communications disruption could signal the presence of an enemy or a threat.
    >However, in reality, a communications disruption could have various causes, such as technical issues, natural disasters, or deliberate interference. So, while a communications disruption might indicate a problem, it doesn't necessarily mean there's only one possible explanation.

TPM is a shitty Star Wars film, but a GREAT stand-alone children's film. I just watched it again for the first time in about 15 years since I loathe it, but viewed it as a fan-film this time. It should be on a tier with other 80's kid classics like Neverending Storie and Goonies if it wasn't tied to the SW franchise.

Aside from the bad writing, bad plotting, stupid deus ex machina things happen because Reasons bullshit, what really kills it is the over-the-top slapstick bullshit. George Lucas is the only man on the planet to make a performance by Brian Blessed cringe-worthy.
