I always thought he was talking about the shooters but the question is "the kids at columbine" so now I don't know.

      Anonymous

OP image is not accurate, in the real interview the question is something like "the kids and people of the community". Can't remember exactly but it's about the media circus after the tragedy, not talking to the kids before the shooting.

        Anonymous

        >it's about the media circus after the tragedy, not talking to the kids before the shooting.
Are you saying Manson wasn't talking about listening to the shooters when he dropped that line? Big if true.

          Anonymous

Yes, the question in the interview asks "what would you say to the kids at Columbine and the people in that community if they were here right now". It's not about the shooters.

            Anonymous

That makes no sense, I wasn't conscious for columbine but wouldn't the townspeople have been interviewed for weeks/months? Plenty of people would've been listening to what they had to say.

              Anonymous

His point was that the interviews and news contact was exploitative and used for a big dramatic media spectacle. Talk shows, shocking updates, outrage over video games and music. When he says "no one did" he means no one seriously wanted to hear from the community as human beings, they wanted fodder for their own media productions.

Like, sticking a microphone in the face of a grieving widow so you can get a sound bite for the evening news and then launch into your own commentary segment is not really listening to what she has to say, for example.

    >While everything was in the air, Trent backed us up and stood behind us. He told us not to worry because he had an option to put out a record with any other label as part of his contract with Interscope, even though it technically owned Nothing.
    >So we had Guy Oseary from Maverick Records down to see us and he brought Freddy DeMann, Madonna's manager. The funniest thing about those guys was the first thing they said to me after the show was 'Are you guys israeli?' And our keyboard player said, 'Yeah, I'm israeli, but I'm not religious. I don't practise it.' And they said 'Yeah, okay, that's cool. We gotta stick together.' We had this whole bonding thing.
    >Then they went back to New York and our manager got a call two days later. They asked, 'We don't really have a problem with Manson's image, the tattoos, the association with the occult and Satanism. But there's something we need to know: Does Manson have any swastikas tattooed on him?' And he's like, 'No. What are you talking about?'
    >They said, 'Well, we just wanted to check because if there's any sort of antisemitic message then it's not something we want to be involved in.'
    >Everything I was doing was so much about sticking up for the underdog that I couldn't understand how they could misassociate what I was doing like that. It was weird.
    >After my tattoos checked out, they actually offered us a deal.

That’s the case with virtually all school shooters. They’re not wallflowers who nobody imagined could hurt a fly. They’re always powder kegs and the cops are always aware before they snap.
But because the legal system is so bureaucratic, it’s often not worth the headache to arrest a suspect before a crime is committed. Look at Chris Chan. Back on the street two years about bragging about raping his mom. Not worth the effort to convict long term.

    False

This is the problem, the last two are misdirects.
    The real enemies are:
    - lower class criminals crack/drug addicts (mainly white/black, the ones that make the urban streets feel hostile at night)
    - organised mafias in construction, shipping, towing, autobody, that create the lower class criminals by engaging in drug running and human trafficking. This class is responsible for and caters to the lower class criminal. They are the ones physically putting fentanyl in the streets, most likely have the police chief in their pockets, and are able to get away with killing your mayor and city officials if they don't play along.

        Anonymous

The mafias I've mentioned have flourished under the tech fiefdoms and have more power on the local level since they're heavily embedded in their local communities. Big tech is globalist and borderless, pretty much a country unto their own, and the two will never interact in any way.

Big tech can't really do anything against you personally or affect your local community in any direct way. Mafias as I've said, are responsible for most of the crime going on in your streets.

Seriously, for how crazy Bible thumpers are, is there nothing more pathetic and manipulative than a musician going too far defending themselves after a tragedy? A major fan of yours kills some people and all of a sudden your black metal and borderline personality disorder music ‘doesn’t affect anyone’, ‘how insane and evil are the public for implying music can deliver and nurture feelings, including negative ones’, ‘no actually my music was the only healing element in this shooter’s life, never in my life have I ever gotten thousands of kids to throw their fists in the air in rage and social conflict’. I’m not saying musicians are responsible but hey some music is great to kill to, it’s not nothing.
Even Eminem, in his defiance, wrote Stan with some self-reflection, and had the decency to at least taunt the public with repeated blatant admissions of his affect on the public.

Yes, I’m not a Bible thumper but it’s pathetic and manipulative of Marilyn Manson to basically do public service for image rehabilitation while scolding the public just because someone else scolded him. Do we need to blame creators and take Doom and everything off the shelves about it? No. And do they cause more killings? Probably not, but your music is really fun for people who like killing people. Manson’s just a BPD jackass with a career in flipping blame.
