Premise idea: A team of oceanographers studying rogue waves prepare for the biggest rouge wave ever, a rogue wave so big and powerful that it could potentially destroy the world

That was because of climate change which is completely different. But this wave plays by it's own rules and answers to no government or meteorological phenomenon.
some say it's been roaming the oceans since the time of Atlantis
It's more akin to "The Rock" but instead of ed harris it's a giant wave that wants to turn the whole world into oceans.
Not bad.
Let's refocus on a memorable scenic location where people are trapped and need to hole up to survive. Someplace people would like to visit.
Maybe the main character (who has a family) forgot to charge his Tesla and they can't just drive away. Or someone stole his car. A white person stole his car.
Also where are we on the gefilte fish?
This wave is a fricking rebel man. Prolly smokes cigarettes and has piercings and shit.
Sounds like a pretty radical wave, but who would be a bad enough hombre to surf it?
if i surfed that wave would i die?
it would be extremely gnarly
remember when they had to outrun the cold and barricaded a door against it like it was a fricking monster
his name is Jack Frost and he killed my sister
Sounds good up until the "destroy the world" part, I would prefer if it was slightly smaller scale, maybe just a threat to the people on the small island they're stationed on
indeed and its already made
>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wave_(2015_film)
i watched bits of it different times its ok bit familiar tropes
Title: WAVE
This is like a really lame version of the Aussie film “The Last Wave.” That movie is 10/10.
2012 already did it
i don't think i could get past that being impossible, please make it an asteroid instead
A team of oceanographers studying an asteroid? Are you taking stupid pills or something?
Title in Spain: La Ola loca
Yes, I also watched The Abyss after that whole submarine fiasco.
You're greenlit. Your budget is $5000 and I need it done by the day after tomorrow.
That's sounds great. You have a $200mil budget. But I have one condition.
It needs to feature a giant spider.
>Humans meet giant spider
>They fight
>But wait, now a BIG FRICKIN WAVE is coming!
>humans and spider now have common enemy
>Giant Spider spins Giant Web to stop the Giant Wave
>Sacrifices himself in the process
>RIP Spiderbro
$100 million opening weekend, I guarantee it
Spider vs wave
It has to be one of those spiders that can skip on water using life hacks
frick the wave if you're putting 200 mil into a modern giant spider movie I'm fricking sold no matter what the premise is as long as its well designed
>wave approaching
>wave back
>you're now best friends and wave won't hurt you
simple as
>giant wave approaching
>just get some scuba equipment
>dive for like an hour or so until it clears
>the world is now yours
Decent idea although not super original, what are the oceanographers gonne do all movie? just initial research, later more dangerous research, and then the early and late warnings to the governor and then to the public before the emergency evacuation that ends up too late? the wave scene could be one epic climax
always had this same thought? if you say scuba'd in a lake wouldn't you be able to avoid the waves path of destruction?
I think of this whenever I think os tsunamis but then immediately realize the force of the wave below will suck me up like a tornado
but still only high speed underwater debris could hurt you if you had the suit
the real play would be to build a dome house underwater that has a heavy base and heavily reinforced walls
Roland Emmerich is already in the office, sir.
how could a rogue wave destroy the world lmao
it would have to be so tall that it would collapse deep in the ocean and become a regular tsunami
at least keep it at destroy some island nation
Here's mine.
>all blacks and israelites immediately vanish off the face of the earth
>the remaining population is scrambling to understand what just happened
>religious types immediately suspect that the rapture has just taken place
>more and more information supports a theory that a far-right individual's wish has been granted somehow
>a brilliant investigator begins to unravel the truth in a thought-provoking, supernatural drama series
I'm going to make this as soon as AI tools become good enough.
The Day After Tomorrow did have giant waves, but also freezing temperatures.
I think to really show that this is a different movie the wave should be so powerful that it actually knocks earth out of orbit and closer to the sun, so it will be really hot and sunny as they prepare to face the wave.
What about a SECOND giant wave that wants to push earth AWAY from the sun? See these two waves have been bitter rivals for billions of years each unable to accept the others' differences nor defeat them in ocean combat. But finally, in 2023, the discovery of an ancient weapon underneath the titanic wreckage threatens to tip the balance of power and destroy mankind in the process.
i had another end of the world dream last night I havent even watched that many disaster movies but they kinda stick with me for some reason
check out this kino
why do morons always struggle with rogue and rouge?
homie how can some water destroy the world lmao that shit evaporate
a prequel to interstellar which is about the first visit to the water/wave planet.
premise idea: a homosexual makes a shitty AI image and wants to post it on Cinemaphile without the threat of getting banned
If you frickers ever saw a rogue wave in person you'd shit yourself so hard that your bowels would fall out of your ass.
Movie about a man who moves to coastal mountainous area and spends decades tunneling in different areas. No one knows why and it never shows you till the end.
He puts explosive charges in the tunnels, fractures the mountains, creates massive landslides along the coast.
Earthquake tsunamis have a maximum. Water displacement ones DO NOT.
displacement ones dont maintain their size
for example the lituya bay 500m wave was only like 20m by the time it exited the bay
Okay thought about it years ago, from a lituya bay thing. It's to wipe out the town or city on the other side of the bay. Guy has a grudge or whatever.
Premise idea: A group of raccoons go on a rampage one night and rummage through dozens of trash cans and destroy a bunch of property, one of them finds a gun and learns how to use it and then end up kidnapping the president with it in exchange for a ransom
these writers on strike don't stand a chance with scripts like this brewing
OK but the raccoon has to be either BIPOC, trans or disabled
Watch Peter Weir's The Last Wave
Rogue wave, I'm CIA
I made this years ago and lost the computer I did it on. Bless you anon.
you lost it? what like, at the park?
hi there mr Emmerich, how about being more creative uh?
A rogue wave can’t destroy the world. Not even the dino killer asteroid made waves big enough to swamp the entire earth.
However it can frick up some areas. Norway has a few places that actively focus wave strength thanks to how the fjords are shaped. They have been hit historically (there’s geological evidence) with waves reaching mountain tops (only locally again because the fjords concentrate that wave energy upward).
They made a disaster movie about this covering a place that is actually likely to see it happen again at some point (it’s one of those 1-10000 year risks). They have a special warning system IRL.
Death by drowning seems comfy
Drowning is very much the opposite of comfy, freezing to death is relatively comfy but drowning is very much the opposite.
