Agreed. I always noticed it's Chuds that like Tarkovksy and Kubrick. Nolan and PTA are some of the best directors but sensitive right wingers and they don't like Hollywood or sexuality. Oppenheimer is the best movie ever made. None of Tarkovksy holds a candle to it. There is nothing to be involved with in PTA's films. They're mediocre at best. LA con man, the director. And he's right that most of his movies are pozzed and even if they weren't they still lack cinematic qualities that make movies good. Paul is a vulgar try hard that falls flat every single time. Meanwhile Tarkovksy knocks it out of the park. You're the one that's not into movies. I doubt a zoomer brain like you could make it through Andrei Rublev or Barry Lyndon and appreciate it. I've watched both dozens of times. I've watched all of PTAs films and aside from PDL, they're all shit. The unique thing about Kubrick and Tarkovksy was they simply didn't care what others think whereas PTA craves recognition. He wants to be fashionable, and rich and party of the LA elite scene. All of his movies lack soul and substance.

I found Stalker extremely engrossing which is insane on account of how boring it really is. I feel like there is some kind of black magic going on with that film. Solaris was okay, looked very cool, not nearly as fascinating as Stalker. I don't think I've seen anything else by him.
