limewire, home...
i remember pirating so much music of limewire. that and converting youtube videos to mp3. had so many ipods, never paid for a single song off of apple lol
I remember being 12 just fricking around downloading whatever and getting a R@ygold video and years later destroying the computer because I was paranoid that I would go to jail for downloading it.
Downloaded Rocky Balboa through limewire after watching it at the cinema. It was a video of a girl at a pool getting fricked by 3 black guys all at once in all holes.
>what I pirate is mine
No, it's not. If you obtain a piece of digital media that is for sale without paying for it you're stealing. Call me a moralgay or a corporate shill, it won't make what I said wrong.
If you really believe that, call the police. Otherwise you're just an attention-seeking homosexual.
lol, lmao even.
once a cuck, always a cuck.
People like you are the reason I don't give the names of TV shows or movies when asked for source anymore because I'm worried they're just going to pirate it rather than support the ACTUAL release.
>And yet you're no more right.
right or wrong, I'm still enjoying my free stuff and you are mad.
Corpohomosexual
Yeah afraid the homosexualry is terminal, please have a nice day as a remedy.

That's not how it works. Doing "good deeds" doesn't counteract sins, you have to ask forgiveness from God. If you can make up for sin yourself then there would be no need for His mercy.

I would agree but there have been multiple instances that prove that “buying digital” can come with the risk of the seller losing the lisence of the priory you bought and removing the digital item from your inventory, so if you can’t own it then it also means that you can’t steal it
this doesn't even make sense. by withholding information there are only negative consequences: fewer people knows about [thing], therefore fewer people will see it legitimately, therefore the chance of cancellation grews.
if you tell someone about [thing] some people will see it legitimately and some will pirate it, then these people will recommend it who will in turn see it legitimately or pirate it, then these people.....
do you see the inherent fault in your homosexual logic?
Poorgays seething at this post. I'd understand if you were pirating some obscure Bhutanese arthouse film that never got a proper release but you gays are pirating shit like Goodfellas and Blade Runner.
I'm very well off and I pirate everything. I had Prime for a while for the 1 day delivery but they stopped delivering in 1 day so I stopped paying them.
You should learn the value of money, young kid.
Even the rich guy paid way too much for those clothes. The only thing I guess is reg price there is the glasses but that's only because the lens are always expensive because that's prob a prescription. But the shirt, pants and shoes , overpriced .
Agreed on everything except the shoes, while you can easily buy some cheap $15 ones paying for quality footwear is a good idea, even for someone generally frugal. It will last longer and be more comfortable, so is generally worth the investment. Agreed that the shirt and pants are wildly overpriced though.

Well maybe not 15 but maybe around 50-70 would be a fine price? I dunno really no fashion expert I like my non collared t-shirts and shorts/cargo pants and I just have tennis shoes.
Same. I’m a millionaire and never stopped pirating. I’ve probably saved $50k in media in the last 20 years. Saved my friends a few thousand each, as well. Also canceled my Prime membership after the day one delivery stopped.
you cant buy and own digital media, you pay for a licence to use it, so in reality, its not stealing if you copy it without the licence, its akin to taping a program on tv with your vhs recorder. thats not stealing nor piracy, its simply, copying. this is factual and true and you are.... WRONG
Call it what you want, to me stealing is depriving an item or object from someone by taking it from their possession, pirating is just making a copy of something, the original owner isn’t deprived of it. They’re not the same. If you want to say they’re from the same family of crime then sure, but I could care less about billionaires or millionaires losing out on some money, I care more about my own bank account than there’s.
>Call it what you want, to me stealing is depriving an item or object from someone by taking it from their possession
Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize we were going by YOUR personal, made-up, arbitrary definitions of words here.
>Oh I'm sorry I didn't realize we were going by YOUR personal, made-up, arbitrary definitions of words here.
It's literally not our personal, made-up, arbitrary definitions, but the literal laws you get charged on/sued by.
There's a reason why they call it copyright infringement.
They just run the ads of "You wouldn't steal a car, so don't steal our movie", because the average mouthbreather(such as yourself), can't understand the difference between the two, so they just conflate them for ease of warning.
If buying isn't owning, piracy isn't stealing. Arguments against piracy may have been relevant back when digital media was in its nascent state and consumer rights were more solidly defined when owning physical media. But in a world where I can buy a product from a company and have its use terminated through no fault of my own, I feel no moral obligation whatsoever to pay for anything I can easily download, and typically in higher quality e.g. removal of DRM in videogames. You can whinge about it all you want but I could not possibly care less.
This. Purchasing doesn’t mean ownership anymore, and oftentimes gets you an inferior version than the torrent. They’ve burned all goodwill, I’ll never give them another cent.
This. Purchasing doesn’t mean ownership anymore, and oftentimes gets you an inferior version than the torrent. They’ve burned all goodwill, I’ll never give them another cent.
>ZE VILL PAY TO RENT A LICENSE TO TEMPORARILY USE A NONEXISTENT "PRODUCT"
You have no morality because you are a corporate shill who lives to defend the most evil and destructive elements of our society. And you are factually and morally wrong.
>If you obtain a piece of digital media that is for sale without paying for it you're stealing
I don't care. The digital stuff I would buy doesn't belong to me and it's overpriced so it's morally correct to steal. Capitalism is a sham.
Let's say I walk into a grocery store with a magical gun that makes a copy of whatever I shoot with it.
I shoot an orange.
Ther orange I shot is still there in the container.
I have a perfect copy of that orange in my hands.
The store did not lose that orange.
I did not lose money.
So, how is that stealing?
The defense to this would be "by copying you will no longer buy the orange, meaning the business has lost out on a sale." Fair, but is this theft? I will not buy a game if I find out it has ridiculously ugly people in it, are ridiculously ugly people stealing money from their own company? I will not buy food I do not find tastes good, are my taste buds stealing money from the company? Nothing about it is theft. A company can (sometimes rightfully) claim that I am morally at fault for copying something since I would have otherwise bought it. But nothing about it is theft at all. Just something that is potentially injurious to profit motive.
What happens when there's no longer an orange there for you to shoot/copy because the store has gone out of business due to everyone shoot/copying everything? >The store could just shoot/copy everything themselves
Ok, capeshit does exist but somehow they still end up spending hundreds of million on making that derivative shit.
>What happens when there's no longer an orange there for you to shoot/copy because the store has gone out of business due to everyone shoot/copying everything?
Then the company goes out of business, of course. I'm not arguing that piracy in the most extreme of examples is beneficial for profit motive. But at the same time it is not theft in any sense other than the business not having access to my own money.

>Then the company goes out of business, of course
Depends on exactly how many people are doing it.
Anon,
I used to use Usenet in the early 2000’s, and kind of stopped around 2012 or so. I’d like to start again. Nowadays, all the file names are obfuscated. Do you have to be part of a secret club to understand what files are being posted, or…how does that work?
same, it feels weird paying for an illegal pirate streaming service but it's better than the legal ones. More content and tbh I even like their UI and search functions more.
I've been DDL for 15 years. Rapidshare, mediafire, mega, and now Rapidgator. I'll pay for premium acount once a year for the sake of easier downloading. Torrents are a last resort.
No, only morons pay to pirate, at least in the US. I’ve gotten letters from optimum before telling me to stop pirating but I haven’t gotten anymore in years. If they ever actually followed through and stopped providing me internet then I’ll just switch to frontier and then maybe get a VPN if they send me letters. But if you bought a VPN without an ISP ever actually canceling your service you’re moronic
Boohoo I live in one of the countries where the government literally doesn't care as long as it's for personal use. Even countries where it's illegal nobody cares.
The funny thing is if they actually sold the media to keep, it might actually mostly kill piracy.
correct. but russia is a bit special. they have pretty strict laws againt piracy and such but dont really enforce it when it comes to foreign content. same goes for hacking; hack a foreign company - none gives a shit (as long as you support the government). hack a russian company; jail it is.
I imagine most countries care about their own content mainly. If you live in the US and torrent a Chinese show or a Russian movie I doubt anyone would give a shit even if they knew
>leafs torrenting overlooked
It sure is. I will get emails from WB/CBS, telling me to delete something of theirs, when I use a public tracker. But nothing comes of it.
Based leafland.
ESG was only possible because the federal funds rate was zero percent for almost 10 years. Borrowing money without having to make a profit to pay it back made merit an irrelevant hiring metric. You could just borrow money to offset losses, and your company could appear successful without actually being a good investment. This is why we saw so many unprofitable companies rise to prominence in the past ten years. Like twitter. It was great for private capital because they could dump money into companies, make them look like great investments to the public, then sell off their stake for a highly inflated price during a IPO and leave the public with the losses when it is discovered that the company is actually not profitable enough to pay dividends. Its also why diversity and inclusion became a thing. Because you could make it look like your company is doing great even if you hire any moron off the street. That is only possible in free money la-la land where you can pay people more than they contribute back in revenue.
In fact, when there is inflation but you can borrow money with no interest, the bank loses money on the loan. This is why you see so many companies raising prices and laying people off now. The fat is being trimmed. They have to get rid of the unproductive matter in their company because they will fail if they are unable to generate enough money to pay the bank and the employees.
>ESG was only possible because the federal funds rate was zero percent for almost 10 years.
You're close, but government bonds are the biggest issue. Banks can lend money to the government for guaranteed interest payouts. Literally printing your own money and selling it to the government for a profit with zero actual work done and nothing added to the economy, which you can then resell for exponential growth. Inflation for the proles is the big side effect.
Elon Musk must be shitting his pants knowing all of his companies are less than worthless and the free money train has finally stopped.
>The Boring Company
Quite literally just throwing money down holes. >Twitter
Possibly the single biggest waste of money anyone has ever made in human history. Twitter has only had 2 profitable years since it was created and neither of them were the year Elon Musk bought it. >Tesla
Has been struggling for over a decade to make a profit and their good name only lasted as long as Teslas were still seen as rare luxury vehicles. The moment they became commonplace on the roads, the massive flaws in all of their vehicles became painfully obvious to the general public, in part because this is what is happening to EVs as a whole but also because Teslas in particular are especially crappy vehicles. >SpaceX
The same as The Boring Company except even more expensive because they're burning the money up in the sky instead of just throwing it down holes >Neuralink
Literally a dystopian sci-fi novel corporation. No sane person would actually want a fricking chip implanted into their brain so they can scroll through instagram from inside their own head. This company can only survive if it receives unbelievable amounts of free money by people who are as evil as Elon and want to put brain implants in people's heads for their own nefarious purposes.
Elon Musk can't afford to actually fund any of these companies on his own because all of his perceived wealth comes from his companies being massively overvalued in the stock market because people bought into his personality. The moment he tries to liquidate his assets to actually fund something himself, the value of his companies tank because it shows he has little faith in the company he's selling stock in to fund something he thinks will be more valuable. His $200billion net worth is basically a $200billion line of credit that he has to perform a balancing act with or else it all disappears.
>You can't put a price on owning a major driver behind global news and discourse
You can and Elon tried to weasel his way out of that deal without success.

It’s less he tried to weasel his way out and more that he tried to back out of the deal after an investigation revealed how many bots were considered “active users” that were there to funnel engagement in the way the company wanted. That lie alone added tens of billions to the value of the company and should’ve forced a lower price point during the sale

So in addition to being stupid you are also lazy.
>something tells me that RoP hasn’t been quite the subscription-grabber they thought it would be
It generated 4times more new subscribers than all their other originals combined. Vast majority from outside America.
The person they temp hired from WB specifically to market Rings of Power (Susan Kroll) got promoted to head of marketing for the whole of Amazon Studios as a result.
I only have Prime because it costs around $12.5 in my country and I treat it like a bonus to the free shipping from Amazon. I still pirate Amazon stuff, because playing videos from HDD is more convenient.
Outside of USA Prime is extremely cheap and is essentially just a part of the entire Amazon subscription. RoP has nothing to do with it. Your statement is fake and gay.
>and is essentially just a part of the entire Amazon subscription
U wot? You mean Americans are paying extra for prime video or prime gaming? I only have it because of the free shipping on Amazon for five bucks a month and even then it doesn't feel worth it most months, it definitely wouldn't be worth it if a whole lot of companies didn't think my country uses the Euro and so sells stuff at 90% discount. If it was five bucks for their streaming output, which just keeps telling me I need another subscription to watch half the stuff they're telling me about, then there's no way in hell I'd pay.
>And how many new subscribers do you need to make back a billion bucks?
Less than every other streaming service would since the real aim is to get people to buy more things on Amazon.com
This is why they saw it as important to try and use the show to attract sign ups from higher earners (40% of the ROP audience was from households who earn over $100k)
And that's why they promoted the marketing woman, because they were very successful in driving higher earner signups.
well, i admit, if she did her marketing right and got more viewers than it otherwise would have she deserved that promotion, because the show itself is hot garbage
>over 24 billion minutes of streaming around the world
how can we word this to squeeze out the largest number possible to make it look like viewership is off the charts? FFS. they should have given us how many actual seconds it was. kek
>Each episode is 65-72 minutes >400 million hours watched over 8 episodes >A full viewing of RoP equals 8 1/2 hours >400m/8.5 >47 million viewers if completion of show is assumed
But to assume this is foolish. YouTube has shown us most people who watch the first episode of a series never finish it, around 60-70% tap out within the first 3.
>60-70m started the show but only ~20m saw the conclusion
Decent statistics, but then we have to account for repeat viewers and people who showed it to others. Then in terms of profits, we have to SOMEHOW separate those who already paid for Prime. Can't mathematically equate that, but 400m hours watched for $1b cost is not impressive when broken down.
Gotta love how there's a page on Amazon that tells you how easy it is...then has a bunch of steps, then tells you when you've done it that the membership WILL end on date X.
Gotta love how there's a page on Amazon that tells you how easy it is...then has a bunch of steps, then tells you when you've done it that the membership WILL end on date X.
I did it just now, it' actually pretty easy to find in the app at least. You just go to the app, click the three horizontal lines in the bottom right, click on prime, click on the carrot in the top left, click on manage my membership, and then click on cancel membership.
Yes. I actually wouldn’t give a shit because I dont use prime video and only subscribe because I run my own business and am constantly ordering supplies off Amazon. The reason I do care though is I have HBO max and a few other add ons. My wife saw it last night and alerted me to it before she got that thick toned ass on the bike for her workout. I told her it wasn’t a big deal because prime video sucks anyway and we only use the subscription services.
Then she informs me after her workout that she was watching max and still had commercials. Wtf. I’m keeping prime for shipping but I’m definitely pulling all my other subscriptions.
>Maybe 2-3 minutes every ten.
In my experience it's half that. I tried setting up a pihole to block the ads but it didn't work. Interestingly watching tubi/disney+ in a browser with Ublock Oirign will block all the ads, so I'll have to test with Prime.
I only have Prime because it costs around $12.5 in my country and I treat it like a bonus to the free shipping from Amazon. I still pirate Amazon stuff, because playing videos from HDD is more convenient.
I might get it in months where there are decent movies at the cinema, as their Odeon deal makes it much cheaper. But Prime Video isn't worth the money.
I actually cancelled when the news came out. Just like every price change on every other streaming service. I don't fricking play that game.
Besides, I'm like a fricking Ninja when it comes to streaming from alternative sites. I did them a favor by paying at first, but they tried fricking me. So I'm taking it back. I'm taking all the streaming back!
Prime's price almost double in my country (not even because of the add-free options) and the actual added services for order/delivery are basically shit. It only counts for your local Amazon region and in my country the offerings are extremely limited; more than often I had to order from another region's amazon and then Prime doesn't count/work and as of late more and more products are dropships; cheap Chinese products sold expensively with shit quality.
By negotiation with my web provider I managed to snatch HBO for 1,50 a month instead.
how does this work? I was given the popup saying there'd be ads, then I watched an episode of the pretender and there weren't any ads. did the power of ms. parkers dommy mommy energy keep the ads away? will cancel prime if they dare interrupt her
I thought it was but unsure now, it's old so probably some third party thing through prime. If I ever feel like subjecting myself to more episodes of reacher s2 I guess I'll find out
>If I ever feel like subjecting myself to more episodes of reacher s2 I guess I'll find out
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Don't do that! I almost jumped out a window by the 4th episode. I'm just saying test it. You can wait for Road House, that's gonna be memed all over Cinemaphile shortly.
I'm glad paypigs are getting blasted in the ass cause we refuse to play ball. But the real heroes are the anons uploading all this shit to the internet.
Has nothing to do with you, they just think this is the best timing while everything else is inflating in price. They're hoping that expensive groceries and gasoline will redirect public outrage.
>people are already tightening their spending >entertainment is the first on the chopping block >let's increase prices!
there's no way this will end well for streaming services, right?
because their services are not profitable despite their claims. They want to go back to the boomervision setup but no one will tolerate that besides boomers who are going to be dead relatively soon.
Wrong. It's because they are pushing their subliminal propaganda
The propaganda is already in their shows and movies, they don't need to be subtle about it. It was obvious they were going to enforce ads, subscriptions alone can't cover all the original productions they're making and the residuals they have to pay for everything they have in the catalog.
All the normies who supported the strikes last year are going to get fricked kek
because their services are not profitable despite their claims. They want to go back to the boomervision setup but no one will tolerate that besides boomers who are going to be dead relatively soon.
It’s a dynamic income partially based on the popularity of the show and partially based on the region advertised in. Hollywood has for the most part butchered their adjustable income and they don’t know how to recoup those losses. Losing out on ads AND home sales has just meant that they’re only relying on the box office and investors are their primary revenue streams since streaming itself is just a money pit of maintaining the constantly growing servers needed to pump out the content constantly. I’m not gonna say I don’t understand why they’re trying to do shit like this, but these companies and studios are all out of good will from me to care
Their ads are literally their own amazon ads, maybe a random toyota commercial and some overinflated startup marketing B2B services nothing consumer kek. Also after every eps binge the ad time increases 15-20 secs. So by the time you at ep 8 the ad is like 1:45 secs of ads but if you take a break or watch something else for 15 secs, it will reset it. >t. got a free month of amazon and was too lazy to turn pc on / curious
thats how it always starts. in 2 years there will be 15 minutes of ads an hour and it will cost 9.99 to have no ads and it will be decoupled from online shopping and whole foods but you can get everything with amazon prime plus gold premium for $119.49 month
Exactly, consoooomers dont even realize that 2-day shipping is factored into every prime item price. Log in without prime and that items price goes up exactly their cost for the 2-day shipping. Even the ad-free prime gaming portion has been gutted. Literally no point in paying for prime and the only ones that argue so are such consooomers.
They still think people will buy shit because of video ads, feels like such an outdated tactic when everyone I know just browses their phone when ads pop up anywhere or watch the skip timer.
anon its literally funded by business to business ads not business to consumer ads. They dont give a frick about selling you shit, they just want your money and the advertisers money. They are such pajeet shitskins they can't advertise, to you consumers, consumer goods/services.
Consoomers won't quit their subscription because of an ad or two. All these corporations are goona push the limit on how many ads they can show these morons without losing their customer base
Investors are sick of sinking money into streaming and they actually want to see a return on their investment. Unfortunately hosting video is insanely expensive so it will literally never happen no matter how expensive they make it or how many ads they put in.
Maybe they should just have people download things to their device instead of stream so you're reducing the burden from people who watch something more than once, kids fricking love to watch the same movies on repeat.
my (fairly basless) assumption is that they are turning streaming back into cable tv, and the slow boiling of the frog (slowly increasing price, adding ads) is their vector
I don’t doubt it’s on the agenda, but it’s not going to help in the slightest, because piracy doesn’t represent lost sales.
The only thing that will help is the last service standing getting most shows/movies into one place again, since convenience is the only thing that can beat piracy.
There hasn't been pirates in a generation so it will be easy pickings. I don't mean the users but the site operators and such. I can't imagine 15 years of the smartphone generation having much leet hacker skill anymore. Hopefully the old farts are still up for it.
if you don’t have a home server with automatic media grabbing set up, you’re leaving money on the table. this is a board for movies and tv, and if you’re spending a cent for either outside of going to the theater, you’re being ripped off.
i pay for prime to get my packages earlier. if youre paying to see a movie or a tv show you’re an irredeemable homosexual. and you should really get your act together.
okay but ask yourself this, do you really need those packages a day earlier? do you have patience? do you respect yourself enough to not throw away money you worked hard for?
All of you, obedient little goyim, overestimate how big piracy actually is, it's miniscule. And on top of that what all of you miss is the fact that I'd guess ~90% of pirates still wouldn't pay for 99% of things they download if piracy was gone.
If you’re going for the >I referenced israelites, so now you have to agree with my post
I advise against trying to browbeat people into giving people like Amazon money. I’d also advise lurking so you know when to play that card properly, but since nobody ever fricking does that anymore I’d be pissing in the wind
I happily paid for streaming services when they offered quality products. Now I pirate as a moral duty because the services got dramatically worse as they raised their prices.
Streaming services in 2024 are a scam. Imagine paying money to get brainwashed by Hollywood
Are the ads before and after the movie or episode? Or are the ads in the middle or spread throughout the film or episode? Because it's fine if it is before and after the program, but not if the ads show up throughout the runtime.
>add things to Amazon cart but back out at the last step of checkout >go back periodically adding and removing items >get offered free trial of Prime >catch up on whatever few actually good movies have cycled into their catalog since i last had Prime >realize the other 90% is crap >cancel Prime trial with 1 day left >rinse and repeat
Is there a single paid streaming service that hasn’t gotten worse over the past two years?
It’s honestly insane how much corporate America has admitted its hatred for its own customers since Covid happened.
I haven't torrented anything in like a decade. I only used to pirate movies really, but once I got enough money I was like finally I don't need to pirate anymore. I buy physical media whenever I can but I've been mostly relying on streaming services but now that they're getting shit and expensive I'll probably take the piratepill again. Only thing I'm paranoid about is malware and miners and shit.
After becoming an adult I started buying video games, mostly so that you get updates and mods easily.
For movies though, I pirate everything. Not for the money, but because it's the only option where you can just download a file and save it on your harddisk.
Physical media take up too much space for my liking plus the constant format changes make it pointless anyways.
I still pay for Netflix every now and then mostly for some specific foreign shows with subtitles etc. And it's nice on the way.
If there was any shop where you could just download any obscure movie with any subtitle language in any quality and save it to your disk I would definitely pay. But they all want to lock you into their ecosystem and then it's just a worse product compared to piracy
Imagine not using a free streaming site. All the content of paid services only free sites have them all in one place plus way more content. Not to mention it’s 2024 and these sites don’t lag anymore and have everything in its highest available quality up to 1080p. Ya it’s low bitrate but if you actually cares about the bitrate you wouldn’t be paying to use a service that streams to you in low bitrate as well, you’d download it. I’ve compared the quality of free streaming sites and paid services side by side and there’s no noticeable difference. Paid services are objectively inferior to free sites, you are paying for an objectively inferior service and I’ll never under the NPC goyslop consooming paypigs that prefer paying for an objectively worse product. They should all kill themselves. I use watchseries when I prioritize convenience, and torrent when I prioritize quality.
Prime isn't bad if you're buying a decent amount of stuff regularly. Streaming services thinking they're actual studios has been a failed moronic experiment. Especially when they keep putting out the same failed pozzed shit.
Imagine still paying for streaming services in 2024.
I've been on my trackers for 13-15 years and recently joined a new one because I almost solely watch Kdramas now.
Why pay money so that talentless, ugly "people" can get a paycheck?
i only ever had prime for free shipping, but i’m glad i cancelled it this year. i never even watched prime video but the idea of these services adding ads after they’ve already killed cable makes my blood boil
>netflix 15.99 per month >prime 23.99 per month >hulu 40.99 per month >hbo 67.99 per month >disney plus 109.99 per month >satellite tv 638.99 per month >good no logs VPN with spain server 8.99 per month
It's really a no brainer. I pay for a great VPN for less than any one of these streaming services.
That’s dumb. You can already get free shipping without prime if you spend enough, and also how much shit are you buying on Amazon that you’d be spending more than 15 dollars a month? Stop being such a consoomer Jesus Christ
kek. i have prime because i order a lot from amazon and free shipping is nice but i still pirate prime content because the browser version is annoying as frick.
There are several adblockers that still work on youtube. It took me two weeks of watching ads on youtube to be like frick this shit and found one that worked.
>Shows keep getting cancelled, good or not >Continue to just shit out an avalanche of shows and hope shit sticks yet never take risks or actually invest in a show at all >Half of what you watch or used to watch you can’t even find any more because it’s either been completely delisted for moronic corporate reasons or the CONSTANT shifting of streaming rights means the show jumps to a new place every year
I’m genuinely sick of all this shit. I don’t even want to bother pirating any more either, everything I’ve liked keeps getting cancelled now anyways.
I’m just done.
> completely delisted for moronic corporate reasons
The tax writeoff shit is the worst. Shows that would completely vanish if they weren't archived by piracy (Example: Final Space)
If Sir Bezos says I have to cough up 3 more dollars so I can watch binge watch Judy Justice without interruption then by golly that's what I'm gonna do.
Imagine whining about 3 dollars. How poor you must all be.
I recently broke up with my gf who was the only reason I went back to streamslop, what's a good seedbox host these days? I used rapidsneedbox a few years ago but it was a bit pricey.
I had that shit for a year before I realized they had movies. I just wanted the 2 day shipping.
I only realized it when a tortuga movie had their logo at the start.
I pay to pirate, but at least what I pirate is mine.
>paying at all
i only pay for the PC hardware and HDDs I use to pirate
What about electricity?
>What about electricity?
I pay for that anyway. Like my PC.
stolen as well
You can’t steal electricity you jackass, what are you going to do go shoplift some batteries?
limewire, home...
i remember pirating so much music of limewire. that and converting youtube videos to mp3. had so many ipods, never paid for a single song off of apple lol
fricking pleb, enjoy your shit quality. Real men used Oink and WCD.
You are like little baby.
>winmx
jesus christ. i feel old now
You know you can still user napster v2.7 as a player if you wanted?
I remember being 12 just fricking around downloading whatever and getting a R@ygold video and years later destroying the computer because I was paranoid that I would go to jail for downloading it.
>download movie from edonkey
>shit takes days
>turns out it was porn
God DAMMIT!
I tried to download some mid 2000s horror flick called Reeker
Turns out I got "giraffe fricks dog"
Thanks Limewire.
how would the giraffe even be able to reach down
very carefully
Downloaded Rocky Balboa through limewire after watching it at the cinema. It was a video of a girl at a pool getting fricked by 3 black guys all at once in all holes.
>what I pirate is mine
No, it's not. If you obtain a piece of digital media that is for sale without paying for it you're stealing. Call me a moralgay or a corporate shill, it won't make what I said wrong.
you wouldn't download a car would you?
People like you are the reason I don't give the names of TV shows or movies when asked for source anymore because I'm worried they're just going to pirate it rather than support the ACTUAL release.
So are you calling the police or not, homosexual? It's a simple yes or no question.
Don't care what you say, I'm speaking up for those who feel the same but don't want the backlash for voicing an unpopular truth.
>I'm speaking up for those who feel the same but don't want the backlash for voicing an unpopular truth.
nobody cares, homo. we love that you pay to keep us getting it for free.
I don't pay for streaming, I buy discs.
So you're not calling the police. You're a coward. OK.
so noble, so righteous. what a hero.
you've done your good deed for today so im sure god will look the other way when you jerk off later.
That's not how it works. Doing "good deeds" doesn't counteract sins, you have to ask forgiveness from God. If you can make up for sin yourself then there would be no need for His mercy.
why would god--who presumably knows everything and is all powerful--create humans then allow satan to entice them to sin then damn his own creation.
that is a god not worth following.
not even the sacrifice of his blameless son makes up for the injustice done from the beginning.
Probably because God wants us to want to choose to follow Him. You can't use human logic to explain something that is not bound by humanity.
why would you choose to believe in a god so alien you are not allowed to comprehend its motives?
>You can't use human logic to explain something that is not bound by humanity.
not only can you, you should, as if you were made in the image of god the creator it would be apostate to demean yourself in such a way.
>God wants us to want to choose to follow Him
The Bible never says God pays for streaming services.
the holy catholic church been at this a long long time
shut the frick up homosexual.
SIRS?
gotta pay to pray, frens.
There is no choosing if the Lord is omniscient. He knows all, and knows which path we will take the moment of our creation. Else, He is not omniscient
Welp, you heard it here folks.
All religion is pointless and invalid.
What sacrifice? He got up after like 3 days. Jesus gave up his weekend for your sins.
Ffs please stop anthropomorphizing the source of all existence.
>Don't care what you say, I'm speaking up for those who feel the same but don't want the backlash for voicing an unpopular truth.
So you're like a Christgay who thinks he is going to heaven for not pirating. You're just as dumb as Christgays, anon and you are doing this for nothing.
I would agree but there have been multiple instances that prove that “buying digital” can come with the risk of the seller losing the lisence of the priory you bought and removing the digital item from your inventory, so if you can’t own it then it also means that you can’t steal it
Yeah afraid the homosexualry is terminal, please have a nice day as a remedy.
this doesn't even make sense. by withholding information there are only negative consequences: fewer people knows about [thing], therefore fewer people will see it legitimately, therefore the chance of cancellation grews.
if you tell someone about [thing] some people will see it legitimately and some will pirate it, then these people will recommend it who will in turn see it legitimately or pirate it, then these people.....
do you see the inherent fault in your homosexual logic?
"We must protect our billionaires!"
- Current year leftists
>Consume product get excited to buy next product
Quality bait
>I'm worried they're just going to pirate it
Why on Earth would I pay to have wokeshit poured all over me???
> you wouldn't download a car would you?
why would I download a car when I can simply steal one?
If you really believe that, call the police. Otherwise you're just an attention-seeking homosexual.
>Hello, anonymous people on the Internet are making copies of videos and corporations are missing out on potential sales. Please do something!
lol, lmao even.
once a cuck, always a cuck.
Not exactly
If buying something does not mean you own it, then pirating it wouldn’t mean you stole it
>Call me a moralgay or a corporate shill, it won't make what I said wrong.
you're worse. a cuck loser.
And yet you're no more right.
>And yet you're no more right.
right or wrong, I'm still enjoying my free stuff and you are mad.
Okay corporate shill
Corpohomosexual
Poorgays seething at this post. I'd understand if you were pirating some obscure Bhutanese arthouse film that never got a proper release but you gays are pirating shit like Goodfellas and Blade Runner.
corporate shill 🙂
WRONG
*steals your media*
Nothing personal kiddo.
>ZE VILL PAY TO RENT A LICENSE TO TEMPORARILY USE A NONEXISTENT "PRODUCT"
>you can steal something that doesn't exist even as an abstraction
Not my problem
You have no morality because you are a corporate shill who lives to defend the most evil and destructive elements of our society. And you are factually and morally wrong.
you set the incels off by being correct. mad props to you
>If you obtain a piece of digital media that is for sale without paying for it you're stealing
I don't care. The digital stuff I would buy doesn't belong to me and it's overpriced so it's morally correct to steal. Capitalism is a sham.
check this out, dawg: https://stallman.org/articles/end-war-on-sharing.html
not my problem
Bingo. Losing out on theoretical profits does not equal theft.
Depends on exactly how many people are doing it.
if buying something doesn't mean I own it
then pirating it doesn't mean I'm stealing it
Pirating, is like taking a pic of an object and sharing that pic.
If you have a pic of statue of liberty, did you steal the real world physical GIANT HEAVY statue of liberty?
It's stupid to think that.
Piracy is the same.
Learn what you are trying to talk about/argue.
Hey cuck, thanks for ponying up another 36 dollars a year so I can watch another show on my "upgraded firestick" LMAO
FPBP. Worth paying for a good VPN if you are living in a cucked country
usenet is worth every cent
How does that work?
Anon,
I used to use Usenet in the early 2000’s, and kind of stopped around 2012 or so. I’d like to start again. Nowadays, all the file names are obfuscated. Do you have to be part of a secret club to understand what files are being posted, or…how does that work?
does no one know how to use torrent? It's stress free if you know what you're doing
>paying for piracy
you are doing it wrong
That's not how you do it
same, it feels weird paying for an illegal pirate streaming service but it's better than the legal ones. More content and tbh I even like their UI and search functions more.
>pay to pirate
what the actual frick? you have to PAY? are you moronic?
I've been DDL for 15 years. Rapidshare, mediafire, mega, and now Rapidgator. I'll pay for premium acount once a year for the sake of easier downloading. Torrents are a last resort.
ddl? downloading? and where do you get the rapid share links or whatever?
>pay for DDL
Jesus, just use a download manager, like jdownloader2.
I like my downloads done instantly, not taking 4 days.
I have a seedbox so that I can help other people out.
But if you bought a VPN without an ISP ever actually canceling your service you’re moronic
it's unironically you who's moronic
Boohoo I live in one of the countries where the government literally doesn't care as long as it's for personal use. Even countries where it's illegal nobody cares.
The funny thing is if they actually sold the media to keep, it might actually mostly kill piracy.
>Can't torrent in Russia
lmao. This map is such BS. All Russians torrent. They don't even know there's another way to get shit.
It's probably more they got after or did go after piracy sites.
correct. but russia is a bit special. they have pretty strict laws againt piracy and such but dont really enforce it when it comes to foreign content. same goes for hacking; hack a foreign company - none gives a shit (as long as you support the government). hack a russian company; jail it is.
I imagine most countries care about their own content mainly. If you live in the US and torrent a Chinese show or a Russian movie I doubt anyone would give a shit even if they knew
I got a letter for downloading Gotham, which I only torrented because I missed it on free network TV AND catchup. Total waste of everybody's time.
What about the grey countries?
>leafs torrenting overlooked
It sure is. I will get emails from WB/CBS, telling me to delete something of theirs, when I use a public tracker. But nothing comes of it.
Based leafland.
>I pay to pirate
Piracy and physical media are the ways to go.
Word.
The said part is mindless consumers will just pay it, and the average person is a mindless consumer.
yup
I know a guy, hundred a year, all the sports channels, all live TV, VOD and tv series. All I need is a firestick. Howd you like dem apples Bezos?
Oof, something tells me that RoP hasn’t been quite the subscription-grabber they thought it would be.
But I thought money wasn’t an issue what with ESG?
>But I thought money wasn’t an issue
It wasn't when the key interest rate was 0, but now the fed need to cool the economy and bring inflation down.
Financial institutions have been buying state bonds for centuries though
Yeah, and it's always been the main driving force behind inflation.
So how is that related to ESG
>SpaceX
The same as The Boring Company except even more expensive because they're burning the money up in the sky instead of just throwing it down holes
>Neuralink
Twitter is a steal for even twice the amount. You can't put a price on owning a major driver behind global news and discourse.
After he bought it, people tried to leave and then came back with their tail between their legs.
Hello, Elon.
He's right, why do you think Google didn't mind that it took a decade to turn a profit?
>You can't put a price on owning a major driver behind global news and discourse
You can and Elon tried to weasel his way out of that deal without success.
It’s less he tried to weasel his way out and more that he tried to back out of the deal after an investigation revealed how many bots were considered “active users” that were there to funnel engagement in the way the company wanted. That lie alone added tens of billions to the value of the company and should’ve forced a lower price point during the sale
>Investigation
No he was a moron who wanted to spice up his stocks but didn't actually wanna buy xitter. You're just a moron who believes anything your favourite corporino tells you
That moron remains the richest man on Earth thoughever
He’s literally the richest man in the world and you’ll never be a woman thoughbeit
I'm sure they'll all be broke in just two more weeks.

Wow you are stupid.
Musk derangement syndrome proves he's doing something right.
Are you fricking high moron? SpaceX singlehandedly revived space exploration and is routinely used for launches on a yearly basis, and Tesla is insanely profitable. You are dumb as frick and if you spent half as much time as you did typing this gay shit out just Googling each of these companies you would know you're mistaken. So in addition to being stupid you are also lazy.
i forbid you to post frogs until you acquire a brain, an education, and acceptance of the fact that you will never be a woman.
>something tells me that RoP hasn’t been quite the subscription-grabber they thought it would be
It generated 4times more new subscribers than all their other originals combined. Vast majority from outside America.
The person they temp hired from WB specifically to market Rings of Power (Susan Kroll) got promoted to head of marketing for the whole of Amazon Studios as a result.
>Vast majority from outside America.
see
Outside of USA Prime is extremely cheap and is essentially just a part of the entire Amazon subscription. RoP has nothing to do with it. Your statement is fake and gay.
>is essentially just a part of the entire Amazon subscription
Wait is it seperate in america?
does this new 2 tier system even affect me in australia?
Holy shit, American consumers are treated like dirt.
>and is essentially just a part of the entire Amazon subscription
>Outside of USA Prime is extremely cheap
around 10$ per year in Poland for example.
The greatest show in world history! holy shit that is why everyone talks about it all the time!
And how many new subscribers do you need to make back a billion bucks?
>And how many new subscribers do you need to make back a billion bucks?
Less than every other streaming service would since the real aim is to get people to buy more things on Amazon.com
This is why they saw it as important to try and use the show to attract sign ups from higher earners (40% of the ROP audience was from households who earn over $100k)
And that's why they promoted the marketing woman, because they were very successful in driving higher earner signups.
>(40% of the ROP audience was from households who earn over $100k)
doubt
That's not even much for a dual income household. I can believe it
beside the fact that the Rajneesh the shill some how has that data no one signed up to watch rop
come on corn pop!
Needful status?
well, i admit, if she did her marketing right and got more viewers than it otherwise would have she deserved that promotion, because the show itself is hot garbage
>over 24 billion minutes of streaming around the world
how can we word this to squeeze out the largest number possible to make it look like viewership is off the charts? FFS. they should have given us how many actual seconds it was. kek
>It generated 4times more new subscribers than all their other originals combined
>4times more new subscribers than all their other originals combined
Grim.
Quick Maths!
>Each episode is 65-72 minutes
>400 million hours watched over 8 episodes
>A full viewing of RoP equals 8 1/2 hours
>400m/8.5
>47 million viewers if completion of show is assumed
But to assume this is foolish. YouTube has shown us most people who watch the first episode of a series never finish it, around 60-70% tap out within the first 3.
>60-70m started the show but only ~20m saw the conclusion
Decent statistics, but then we have to account for repeat viewers and people who showed it to others. Then in terms of profits, we have to SOMEHOW separate those who already paid for Prime. Can't mathematically equate that, but 400m hours watched for $1b cost is not impressive when broken down.
>Real-debrid $4/month
Based debrid Chad. I pair that up with Syncler for the UI and basically have a streaming service of everything that has ever existed.
I already cancelled
How do I even cancel? I don't remember signing up. But I have the videos on prime.
they make it very hard to find on their site. just do a seach for unsubscribe from prime membership and that will have the link you need
Gotta love how there's a page on Amazon that tells you how easy it is...then has a bunch of steps, then tells you when you've done it that the membership WILL end on date X.
It's not hard at all
I did it just now, it' actually pretty easy to find in the app at least. You just go to the app, click the three horizontal lines in the bottom right, click on prime, click on the carrot in the top left, click on manage my membership, and then click on cancel membership.
isn't amazon prime something they already pay for? They want them to pay extra ontop of that for the premium ad free version now?
>can't read
Tubi is free
Isn't that one also like double the amount of ads that even cable tv plays per hour of programming?.
yes
No. It’s not bad at all for commercials. Maybe 2-3 minutes every ten. Seems like normal tv to me from what I remember.
>Maybe 2-3 minutes every ten.
In my experience it's half that. I tried setting up a pihole to block the ads but it didn't work. Interestingly watching tubi/disney+ in a browser with Ublock Oirign will block all the ads, so I'll have to test with Prime.
I’m sure you’re right. It’s been a while since I watched. I just remember the commercials weren’t excessive at all.
I use ublock and have never seen a single ad on it
braflix is free
>brapflix
By negotiation with my web provider I managed to snatch HBO for 1,50 a month instead.
>while you were raising prices, I studied the blade
monkee
is this really going to be supergirl
goddamn she ugly
how does this work? I was given the popup saying there'd be ads, then I watched an episode of the pretender and there weren't any ads. did the power of ms. parkers dommy mommy energy keep the ads away? will cancel prime if they dare interrupt her
Is Pretender thru Amazon Prime directly? Cause I know via my Prime App (before I canceled), I was accessing old ass shows from shit like IMDB.
Try watching Reacher, I'm sure they'll blast you with those ads you want.
Think ad blockers are working. Watched jury duty and I haven't seen one hiccup or AD.
video is the only thing affected right? this doesn't impact anything else that comes with prime now requiring the higher pricing?
Shout-out to all paypigs, supporting thinking anons out of the kindness of their hearts.
I'm glad paypigs are getting blasted in the ass cause we refuse to play ball. But the real heroes are the anons uploading all this shit to the internet.
For them, I give thanks. #Freedom
Has nothing to do with you, they just think this is the best timing while everything else is inflating in price. They're hoping that expensive groceries and gasoline will redirect public outrage.
>people are already tightening their spending
>entertainment is the first on the chopping block
>let's increase prices!
there's no way this will end well for streaming services, right?
We're in the death spiral. Price/quality ratio keeps getting worse. People unsubscribe. Quality gets even worse, more people unsubscribe.
These are the last couple of cycles of squeezing a bit more out, getting one more quarterly bonus before it burns and crashes.
Maybe don't pay the 2.99. The ads aren't too pervasive.
If you order a lot of stuff online, not having Amazon Prime is actually dumb.
Just collapse already.
Why are they pushing advertisements so hard lately?
>Why are they pushing advertisements so hard lately?
It's more profitable than subscriptions.
All the normies who supported the strikes last year are going to get fricked kek
>more profitable
Apparently it nets them less than $2.99 per month
because their services are not profitable despite their claims. They want to go back to the boomervision setup but no one will tolerate that besides boomers who are going to be dead relatively soon.
YouTube on. Chromecast is literally unwatchable now
It’s a dynamic income partially based on the popularity of the show and partially based on the region advertised in.
They are such pajeet shitskins they can't advertise, to you consumers, consumer goods/services.
thats just capitalism
if profits are to rise every year, they need to find new ways to invent problems to sell solutions
Why would they bombard you with ads full of trannies and black people every 10 minutes? Who knows.
Because it's always been the only profitable way to make tv shows.
Anons once these studios realize how much people they pushed back to pirating, will there be another crackdown?
I think recently there hasn't been much pushback because a lot of people stopped pirating due to Netflix.
Oh frick thanks for reminding me to cancel my subscription
All of you, obedient little goyim, overestimate how big piracy actually is, it's miniscule. And on top of that what all of you miss is the fact that I'd guess ~90% of pirates still wouldn't pay for 99% of things they download if piracy was gone.
If you’re going for the
>I referenced israelites, so now you have to agree with my post
I advise against trying to browbeat people into giving people like Amazon money. I’d also advise lurking so you know when to play that card properly, but since nobody ever fricking does that anymore I’d be pissing in the wind
I happily paid for streaming services when they offered quality products. Now I pirate as a moral duty because the services got dramatically worse as they raised their prices.
Streaming services in 2024 are a scam. Imagine paying money to get brainwashed by Hollywood
>please pay us to watch ads
Well, I guess newspapers always did it...
the annoying thing is you can't really cancel since the real reason to have prime is free shipping
theyre slowly erroding away are freedoms..... soon they will make me pay rent on my clitty cage under bidens americant
Are the ads before and after the movie or episode? Or are the ads in the middle or spread throughout the film or episode? Because it's fine if it is before and after the program, but not if the ads show up throughout the runtime.
Haha cucks
Don't care still get free prime sub to give to hasan
Not my problem
>qbittorrent
>torrentleech

That shit doesn't work anymore and is spyware
Source?
People watch prime?
I just got it for free shipping
Do NPCs really?
>add things to Amazon cart but back out at the last step of checkout
>go back periodically adding and removing items
>get offered free trial of Prime
>catch up on whatever few actually good movies have cycled into their catalog since i last had Prime
>realize the other 90% is crap
>cancel Prime trial with 1 day left
>rinse and repeat
Is there a single paid streaming service that hasn’t gotten worse over the past two years?
It’s honestly insane how much corporate America has admitted its hatred for its own customers since Covid happened.
Canceled all streaming subscriptions a long time ago. It's physical and piracy from now on. Fricking greedy israelites.
Funny. I was just thinking about how maybe I should get a prime video membership this morning. I have now decided for sure that I won't.
ALWAYS PIRATE EVERYTHING.

Jokes on you, I got uBlock Origin
Prime isn't bad if you're buying a decent amount of stuff regularly. Streaming services thinking they're actual studios has been a failed moronic experiment. Especially when they keep putting out the same failed pozzed shit.
>you WILL pay a monthly subscription to drive
>you WILL get the chip
This is Cinemaphile. We love billionaires and we WILL get the chip. I'm not vaxxed by the way.
who pays for streaming anyway? you can get it for free from your friends and/or family
>who pays for streaming anyway?
Your friends and/or family
Imagine still paying for streaming services in 2024.
I've been on my trackers for 13-15 years and recently joined a new one because I almost solely watch Kdramas now.
Why pay money so that talentless, ugly "people" can get a paycheck?
who actually watches prime video?
>pay for slop
>pay to get slop advertised to you during viewing of slop
i only ever had prime for free shipping, but i’m glad i cancelled it this year. i never even watched prime video but the idea of these services adding ads after they’ve already killed cable makes my blood boil
I get video for free with my prime subscription and I don't use it
I don't have to pay for shit
>netflix 15.99 per month
>prime 23.99 per month
>hulu 40.99 per month
>hbo 67.99 per month
>disney plus 109.99 per month
>satellite tv 638.99 per month
>good no logs VPN with spain server 8.99 per month
It's really a no brainer. I pay for a great VPN for less than any one of these streaming services.
Is Disney seriously 100 bucks now?
No, not per month. It's like 110 per year
No. I think he is combining the money for all the streaming services you'd have to pay per month? Either that or he is a paid Netflix shill
The only reason I have prime anymore is the free shipping
>free
Ehhhhhh
That’s dumb. You can already get free shipping without prime if you spend enough, and also how much shit are you buying on Amazon that you’d be spending more than 15 dollars a month? Stop being such a consoomer Jesus Christ
I only have amazon prime because they let you get it for $7 a month with proof that you're on medicaid.
kek. i have prime because i order a lot from amazon and free shipping is nice but i still pirate prime content because the browser version is annoying as frick.
No just the dictionaries.
Stealing - the action or offense of taking another person's property without permission or legal right and without intending to return it; theft.
Piracy - the unauthorized use or reproduction of another's work.
I want a version of Prime where I pay less and I don't have access of their streaming crap. I just like the delivery.
I prefer a different streaming service
Between this and Youtube with adblock you really don't need anything except actual physical media.
I thought yt wasn't allowing adblock anymore
Just get ublock you poor fricker. Jesus.
There are several adblockers that still work on youtube. It took me two weeks of watching ads on youtube to be like frick this shit and found one that worked.
which one you using homie
Figure it out.
oh i see. you was lying. you been sitting there watching ads like a cuck and seething the whole time lol
I don’t even know how people can watch youtube with ads. If there wasn’t an adblocker, I wouldn’t ever go on there.
>get prime for black Friday stuff to have free shipping
>February
>still have Prime
Thanx for reminding me to cancel.
Here (in France) it's still included for free with your Prime subscription because nobody gives a frick about this "service."
>Shows keep getting cancelled, good or not
>Continue to just shit out an avalanche of shows and hope shit sticks yet never take risks or actually invest in a show at all
>Half of what you watch or used to watch you can’t even find any more because it’s either been completely delisted for moronic corporate reasons or the CONSTANT shifting of streaming rights means the show jumps to a new place every year
I’m genuinely sick of all this shit.
I don’t care
If Sir Bezos says I have to cough up 3 more dollars so I can watch binge watch Judy Justice without interruption then by golly that's what I'm gonna do.
Imagine whining about 3 dollars. How poor you must all be.
I wish I could protest cancel Prime, but its the same as Netflix. I got rid ages ago because 100% of original content, no exception, is garbage
I guess I'll just keep on tormenting then. 🙂
I guess I'll just keep on torrenting then. 🙂
make sure you all check iknowwhatyoudownload to see the reprehensible stuff your ip neighbor (not you of course) torrents
I just looked and someone downloaded: Godzilla Minus One, Shaun of the Dead and Coming to America.
shit flows down hill paycucks
iwabap
(I will always be a pirate)
Don't think of it as watching commercials, think of it as supporting Rings of Power. Someone's gotta pay those bills.
I recently broke up with my gf who was the only reason I went back to streamslop, what's a good seedbox host these days? I used rapidsneedbox a few years ago but it was a bit pricey.
I had a free month in January. They haven't even got Black Sails on Prime any more.
Streaming is a total shit.
>all these people ITT that don't know how to get free amazon prime every month
I just use their prime card with 5% cashback and that usually covers it.
Call me cringe but amazon deliveries quality products at rapid speeds. That bezos guy has big dick energy.
Think I'll call you a homosexual instead
>amazon deliveries quality products
Half of the time I spend on Amazon is trying to find a product that is not a cheap Chinese knockoff
I had that shit for a year before I realized they had movies. I just wanted the 2 day shipping.
I only realized it when a tortuga movie had their logo at the start.
It's only $2.99.
lol stop being poor. Three bucks is nothing.
Thanks for paying cuck, keep the service going for my alternative streaming means
