Don't mock my disability anon. So what if I'm blind? You got a problem with blind people? I, as a blind person, don't come to this vision-dependent anime titty forum to be mocked for my totally-real-blindness. You've hurt my feelings, and you're a terrible person.
Why are yuropoors so proud of the fact that they all learn how to drive in poor people cars? Especially since it takes about 15 minutes in an empty parking lot to learn how to shift?
>80's
Really sick of you morons. Just why in the frick would there be an apostrophe followed by an "s" there? It's '80s, because you're putting the apostrophe where you omit the "19" from "1980s," like a contraction. Fricking imbecile.
I used to do a lot of editing for a publishing company, so I had to recognize and correct 1340923092 things like this for my job, but why would you care about something like this on 4chniz?
This is such a weird cope for having outdated technology. Automatic transmissions are objectively superior because they allow you to keep both hands on the steering wheel, maintain complete focus on the act of driving, and not have to worry about rolling backward when trying to move after stopping on an incline. That's why manual transmissions have been completely phased out of the market and I haven't seen a car with a manual transmission in over 20 years. Automatic transmissions even enable cool shit like continuously variable transmissions that make driving even smoother and more fuel efficient than even a manual transmission with an expert driver. But Europeans are just too poor for that or something and they try to pretend that their objectively inferior method for shifting gears is better. It's less safe, it's less efficient, there's just no reason to keep it around now that technology has progressed to the point it has.
Doubt it all you want but they are a well known issue. It's why Honda, Nissan, and even Toyota extended dates on their warranties because the transmissions kept failing years before they should have. I just had one in my wife's Subaru go out last year at barely 100k miles. Her sister got an Infinity and it went out at 60k.
CVTs are metal belts running around two metal drums, it's going to wear down like the clutch on a car. Except when a clutch wears you change just the clutch, if the belt in the CVT wears down you need a new transmission.

Manual puts you in control of how much power you have at all times.
Flooring it to overtake? Shift down to 4th, get all the power you want, no worries about the auto box shifting Too many gears down and you losing powers.
Using gears to control speed going down hills so you don't need to brake much, Better gear selection going up hills (never had an auto car that would always get stuck in an over-revving too low gear up a hill).
Cheaper car maintenance and better reliability.
cons:
Modern automatics can get better fuel efficiency.
It's really tedious in traffic
Bad clutch control will result in stalling or bunny hopping.
You notice underpowered cars much much more as you're constantly shifting up and down whenever any acceleration is needed.
Hybrid cars don't really work with manuals.
>It's really tedious in traffic >Bad clutch control will result in stalling or bunny hopping.
learn to drive >Hybrid cars don't really work with manuals.
wrong
Learn to read. Someone buying their first manual is going to struggle with clutch control
You can get mild hybrids that are manual but a full hybrid just wouldn't work; you accelerate in Electric only, it comes out of electric mode and you're completely in the wrong gear because without engine revs to guide you, you'll just be guessing.
You forgot for pros cuts down on road rage. Driven manuals all my life. But recently got an automatic because traffic where i’m at sucks ass. Getting road rage with all stop and go bullshit which pain in the ass with a manual. Now just zone out
>road rage
Imagine getting mad at shit that happens in traffic lol. Just learn to leave ahead of time bro. I stopped getting road rage in my twenties and I'm still taken aback when I see mentally ill gays flipping their shit in traffic
Pros >Full control of the transmission >No filters >Fully mechanical, no electrical issues to be had >It's fun >Low maintenance in general >Car inherently feels more responsive >You can slow down using just the transmission >If the starter or the battery fail you can push start it with some help >Depending on the area could be a theft deterrent because some thieves can't into manuals
Cons >Depending on the car the clutch might be tiring to constantly push in and out >When the clutch wears enough it's expensive to replace if you don't know how to do it >Stop and go traffic is a b***h; clutch in, first gear, accelerate, clutch out, coast for a bit, clutch in, out of gear, clutch out, wait, repeat. >Less covenient, can't be on the phone, eating, etc. >Downshifting can be a learning curve if you have to do it quick; going too low too fast can cause engine overspeed >There is always the possibility that you can grenade the engine in seconds with a well executed money shift >No parking gear, so you have to make sure the parking brake works properly; If you don't fully engage first when you park on a hill, it can spit it out and the car rolls away in neutral >Not as fast as an auto
Love when I see this in movies with cars over powering much more powerful cars. “But how do know they didn’t modify it and put a more powerful engine in it?” They never show that. It’s always just a regular non sleeper car
i mean if he is driving like a moron maybe he could shift down to get more rpm and by consequence more power, or maybe he is just demolishing his 3 gear or something and shifting up gives him more speed
I will never use a manual, or as i call it redditshift.
>yeah bro, just jerk off the car, it will definitely make it go faster! >yeah that's right, just grab that robot phallus with your hand >oh yeah, you have to constantly grab it and stroke it just to go anywhere, this is normal
frick right off with that shit. it's even more disgusting that Hollywood and vin diesel tries to convince you it's manly to jerk off your car.
I got into an argument with someone that thinks you need to Rev match in normal everyday driving. He called me an idiot for saying that you can just slip the clutch instead of blipping the throttle when downshifting.
Yeah, that's pretty much the plot of every Harry Potter movie, homosexual. You work that out all by yourself?
Don't mock my disability anon. So what if I'm blind? You got a problem with blind people? I, as a blind person, don't come to this vision-dependent anime titty forum to be mocked for my totally-real-blindness. You've hurt my feelings, and you're a terrible person.
>non-drivers angered and confused by cars
>"I need more speed!"
>*shifts into sixth*
You know there are six gear cars, right, anon?
Spotted someone who's never driven a manual.
You get very little torque and acceleration in 6th gear. It's a cruising gear designed for maintaining speed as efficiently as possible.
>shifts into 7th
That's mostly on american cars like corvettes or vipers, that's not the norm
Almost any car that can get up to freeway speeds will have a top gear with minimal torque for fuel efficiency.
You downshift to accelerate, silly Billy. Not up.
homosexual
Obviously he's downshifting in a 7 speed manual corvette
>"I need more speed!"
>Skips directly into second gear from fifth, destroying the engine
Why are yuropoors so proud of the fact that they all learn how to drive in poor people cars? Especially since it takes about 15 minutes in an empty parking lot to learn how to shift?
>mentions Europe out of nowhere
Sad reflection of the times. 80's Americans weren't like this.

I'm sorry about your autism, anon
your a gay
>your a gay
It's 'your an gay' you frickin moron.
go back
Based thank's for sharing a new way to rile up you freaks
I used to do a lot of editing for a publishing company, so I had to recognize and correct 1340923092 things like this for my job, but why would you care about something like this on 4chniz?
What about the Americans which belong to the 1980s b***h think
>this confuses the American
>Doesn't drive cars that shift themselves
You ever heard of Cadillac? Cadillac El Dorado?

Wall of seethe and a load of pish to boot.
Autos are available in Europe and aren't necessarily any more expensive than the equivalent in a manual.
Then why are they all so obsessed with manual transmissions and complain about American cars being automatic?
Because it winds you up, you daft c**t.
Cinemaphile isn't real
>cool shit like CVTs
You do know CVTs literally eat themselves from the inside out by design right?
I didn't know that but my 9 year old Corolla seems to be doing just fine and has never had any transmission issues, so I have my doubts.
Doubt it all you want but they are a well known issue. It's why Honda, Nissan, and even Toyota extended dates on their warranties because the transmissions kept failing years before they should have. For me it's Mazda. They still use automatic transmissions instead of CVTs.
what car
That's an '80s Mitsubishi transmission.
Based.
>protag is losing race/needs to escape
>violently pounds the ECON button on the dash to turn off eco mode
>200mph in seconds
What is it about muscle and race cars that get people so homoerotic?
>this terrifies the amerilard
>Mono = six
>R = R
Two reverse gears; one to reverse and one to really reverse.
This confuses and enrages the yuro-peon truck """driver"""
>Alright what are the pro's and con's?
I may or may not be looking at getting a new car
one is boring one is fun unless you're in stop start traffic for hours on a daily commute

Overnight parts from Japan were established 20 years ago. They don't have to keep repeating themselves.

it has 8 gears, are you blind?

Bizzare
rev matching is fun
Put it in H
god, I miss when trucks had stick shift and it was three feet long attached to the floor
>Cinemaphile seethes about trannies

Ideally you WOULD rev match though. It's not a matter if you can or not it's a matter of "one option is better than the other"
