I never understood why they decided to put aside Finn as the protagonist

I guess it was unfortunate for you there weren't as many homosexual shows for you then as there are today. Turning AT into a homosexual show was unfortunate for everybody else.

The show BOMBED when they did the creepy no Finn series finale.
Everyone hated it, everyone shit on everyone involved, and cn saw the series was fricked forever so they all but shit canned it.

Fricking show doesn't even get reruns.

this show was better when ward was running it. bringing rebecca sugar to do all the writing shouldn't have happened.

I consider the series watchable up until the end of "I Remember You." Which is near the end of the 4th. That way you end on a 'Huh, those two had a father/daughter type thing at one point, weird' moment. Then pretend that was the end of the series.

I remember everything after that being various levels of disappointment. By the end I just got the story points from argument threads. Like modern MCU shit.

This moment means Finn does not deserve to get laid? This was a weird moment in a children's cartoon meant to demean and belittle the protagonist because he is potentially into two major female friends in his life. It's like the writers sat down and said, "Hehe, let's make Finn some sad simp for lesbians because lesbians deal with SO MUCH from sad men who can't handle rejection." It's weird. Why couldn't Finn be allowed ANY girl? It didn't have to be Bubblegum (even though we wasted two seasons making her his main love interest for nothing), or Marceline (besides, she feels more like a sister than a lover) or even Flame Princess (this entire relationship was written to fail because of Becky Sucrose, but it was made fetishistic and toxic by that Ice King/Flame Princess fight)

Finn x FP was based but since only Sugar liked it as soon as she left to make Steven Universe they threw it in the trash

They purposely ruined it and Flame Princess never interested me. I was upset even as a kid by her introduction because I thought PB and Finn should be the endgame. It's like the Mordecai/Margaret situation. All this setup and little moments that make you think they might be together only to frick you over by either introducing a random nobody who we're not invested in or having the girl go with someone else just to *subvert expectations.*
