Proto-Disney Wars.
There's a few good episodes of content for the Disney version, I liked alot of S2, but you have to look past alot to reconcile Anakin having a completely different character, Ahsoka's existance, MC backstories completely changed to fit shoehorned characters and the ethos of the Jedi being changed which makes the whole thing feel disjointed from the rest of canon. The OG Clone Wars was honestly the same in quality as the Filoni version but it made more sense.
I'll never understand how people tolerate Ahsoka when she's such a writer's pet character that she constantly straddles the line between that and Mary Sue.
>I'll never understand how people tolerate Ahsoka
She was Rey before Rey appeared in the Soi Wars trilogy. However, at the very least she had a fun dynamic with Anakin. Rey is just an unlikable Mary Stu prostitute.
I accept your concession. You never had anything to say.
It's obvious that you are a terminal internet addict and this rewards you with dopamine and a replacement for self-worth but this will be my final (You).
>Checked out the moment Ahsoka showed up
So you checked out in the first 5 minutes of The Clone Wars movie? I see. >Doubly so when they resurrected Maul.
But I thought you had already checked out before even watching the series?
I'll never understand how people tolerate Ahsoka when she's such a writer's pet character that she constantly straddles the line between that and Mary Sue.

The term has lost all of its meaning.
wasn't she hated also because she was a smug little shit who's constantly fricking up too? Like refusing to retreat when her unit was about to get completely slaughtered. Her whole point was that she eventually grows out of being such a c**t as the seasons progressed iirc
Except she doesn't actually progress in the traditional sense.
They just change her clothes and handwave any actual development by showing she's all of a sudden more mature now. She never really overcomes anything to get to that point, it just happens. Very bad writing if you ask me.
>Never mentioned before despite being the apprentice of Anakin and hanging out with all the Jedi >Literally everyone likes her, even the villains appreciate her >Super talented, could block several point blank shots from clones, unlike literally every other Jedi that got shot >Rescued from death by fricking time travel for no reason

Sh-She loses some fights sometimes and uh... something about a bombing, but she's NOT A MARY SUE, OKAY?! Even though everything always works out fine for her she's j-just NOT!!!
mentioned before despite being the apprentice of Anakin and hanging out with all the Jedi
And? Surprise, surprise - the Jedi hang out with each other. Where should she have been mentioned? How is this relevant?
everyone likes her, even the villains appreciate her
Literally wrong. Honestly, I should stop replying to your post right here, since you are clearly baiting and don't know what you are talking about. But whatever. Anakin disliked her at first (TCW movie), Rex put her in her place, villains never appreciated her, Ventress literally called her "Skywalker's obnoxious little pet", Maul just wanted to use her, and so on. moron.
talented, could block several point blank shots from clones, unlike literally every other Jedi that got shot
Literally every other Jedi was caught off-guard, whereas Rex warned her because of his experience with Fives and realizing that he was right, which let her prepare herself. If a Jedi is prepared, he can easily overcome clone troopers. See Yoda and Obi-Wan attacking the Jedi Temple, or that guy from Fallen Order. Also, she was aided by Rex and the droids, it's not like she survived on her own. That didn't happen.
from death by fricking time travel for no reason
Irrelevant, and it was not due to her ability or skill. She was rescued by another person. Mary Sues don't need rescuing. Ahsoka got knocked out and captured and needed saving like 500 times. >How is she NOT a mary sue?
She isn't. You're a moron.
Except she doesn't actually progress in the traditional sense.
They just change her clothes and handwave any actual development by showing she's all of a sudden more mature now. She never really overcomes anything to get to that point, it just happens. Very bad writing if you ask me.
Except she does. You just don't watch the show. She constantly fricked up and learned her lessons. See: TCW movie, Downfall of a Droid, Ryloth trilogy, Holocron Heist, Lightsaber Lost, Assassin, and so on. It's not the writing, it's you being braindead or not paying attention, which is your problem.
I've watched the show, to my misfortune. She doesn't actually have an arc that naturally lets her grow as a character, all that gets bypassed and she just does.
Sounds like you don't even watch the show, or just haven't watched it in a long time, probably scared to revisit it in the chance it might not be as good as you remember and just clinging to nostalgia as a cope.
Ahsoka existing is already moronic enough, she should have been Plo Koon's padawan or something and maybe have an ocasional interaction with Anakin and Obi-Wan once in a while
No matter how you cut it, giving Anakin a padawan that's never mentioned in any other Lucas media besides that show has to be one of the most moronic retcons ever conceived.
>she should have been Plo Koon's padawan or something and maybe have an ocasional interaction with Anakin and Obi-Wan once in a while
Lucas, the guy who came up with Star Wars and Anakin Skywalker, thought otherwise.
No matter how you cut it, giving Anakin a padawan that's never mentioned in any other Lucas media besides that show has to be one of the most moronic retcons ever conceived.
No, not really. Jedi Knights get Padawans. There is nothing extraordinary about it, it is a regular Jedi practice, and their reasoning for doing so was perfectly clear. If you had watched the show and understood Anakin's character, you'd know why she wouldn't be mentioned. Also, nothing from the prequels was mentioned in the OT, except throwaway phrase "you fought in the Clone War?"
Who gives a shit what Lucas, the guy who constantly changes his mind and knowingly sold his property out to "white slavers," has to say about Star Wars?
Anakin having a padawan makes no sense in-universe and it's a stupid retcon. Deal with it.
>Anakin having a padawan makes no sense in-universe and it's a stupid retcon. Deal with it.
Makes perfect sense, you just don't understand Star Wars and in your arrogance think that your interpretation of it somehow supersedes what the actual creator of the universe thought about it.
The actual creator clearly doesn't give a shit so why should I? I understand it perfectly enough to know it's a stupid afterthought that he and Filoni jumped through hoops mentally to make "work" when it has no consistency with the films whatsoever.
Braindead opinion. >The actual creator clearly doesn't give a shit
If you say so.

I do say so. George has no bearing on what Star Wars is anymore, so there's no point using him as a point of reference when he clearly didn't care enough about it to maintain consistency or to keep it.
Thanks for playing.

>George has no bearing on what Star Wars is anymore so there's no point using him as a point of reference when he clearly didn't care enough about it to maintain consistency or to keep it.
But I am referencing him when he had a complete, 100% bearing on what Star Wars was. So your "argument" is a complete non-sequitur, doesn't make a lick of sense. He cared well enough to pour his money, heart and soul, and maintain consistency within his Star Wars, which was live-action movies and tv-shows. >Thanks for playing.

That's why Ahsoka is a complete afterthought of a character and TCW breaks continuity with the films? Take Lucas' wiener out of your mouth.
No, actual Star Wars fans are those who appreciate George Lucas' work. The rest is fanfiction. You are the OG consoooooomer buying merchandise with SW brand slapped onto it. And Lucas never considered it anything more than a disposable merchandise that had no bearing on his creative decisions. Stay mad.

No problem, season 2 just had a trailer drop about a week ago so now's a pretty good time to get into it.
I'd be as bold to say that it's been his best work so far.
>it's the perfect bridge between AotC and RotS.
Why? Because it ends with Palpatine being kidnapped and Anakin saying he's going to lead a fleet to Coruscant to rescue him? The "Ghost Hand" chapters and Anakin's fight with Asajj Ventress are quite kino but other then that the Genndy show is pretty forgettable and pointless. I like it a good deal but I don't think it does as good a job as "supplementary material to the main saga" as the Lucas/Filoni Clone Wars show does. Genndy's is more consistent, I'll give you that. Some of the Lucas/Filoni episodes are pure shit but the good ones really stand out as being great and add a lot to the overall story.
>while it has high highs, most of the show sucked (if it didn't, people wouldn't be making watch guides for it) >stomped over lore that's been established for years simply because Filoni is a hack that can't work "in a box" and Lucas is a moron that enabled him. >Anakin having a padawan that's never mentioned anywhere else makes no justifiable sense (no, giving him a new attachment so he can learn to let go is not a good excuse, that's like giving a pyromaniac his own can of starter fluid so he can learn to be a firefighter with no water, and we're talking about the Jedi fricking council that doesn't trust him at all to begin with), as well as letting that padawan live >loose continuity with the events of the films >childish in nature, but flip flops between being that and wanting to be dark and serious to the point where it becomes tone deaf >turned Anakin into Han Solo with a lightsaber >flanderized Grievous from his RotS version >Ahsoka is a writer's pet that Anakin seems to care more for than fricking Padme >CIS are turned into a non-threat that the Republic always beats >Dooku just becomes a moustache-twirling, Starscream wannabe instead of a diplomatic anti-villain >Maul >bounty hunters and pirates easily able to defeat force users >characters are animated in a janky "I'M ACTING" way that gets obnoxious, they can't just say anything while staying still

Looks disgusting
Written poorly
I always hated it growing up
I could never sit through an episode without getting upset or disappointed headache, always turned off tv and played outside or just changed channel
I'm 23
>Ahsoka >Anakin is a chad for some reason >pacifist Mandalorians >resurrects Maul with completely different personality >Anakin and Dooku duel every other week >clones are now just regular people >inhibitor chips >Force magic
Yeah, EUgays thought all mandos were supposed to be rainbow-spectrum Boba Fetts vagabond mercenaries. That's what you get when you read fan-fiction that can't into proper world building, unlike Lucas, who develops Star Wars based on real-life history, art, architecture, and as a result his world-building is natural and not stagnant.
Star Wars has been Disney since 1986 when Lucas and Disneyland teamed up to put the Star Tours ride in the Tomorrowland park section, I don't know why people pretend this franchise hasn't always been a Disney cartoon
Could not give less of a shit.
The models in this show/movie are some of the most hideous, repulsive abominations I have ever seen.
The early seasons models looked early PS2 era at best.

This was the real decline of Star Wars for me. Checked out the moment Ahsoka showed up. Doubly so when they resurrected Maul.

I really don't understand why this shit is so popular on Cinemaphile.
Zoomers.
Alright contrarian, you certainly changed my mind.
Watching it as a kid was kino.
Yeah the TV was awful, only the worst manchildren like it.
Looks disgusting
Written poorly
I always hated it growing up
I could never sit through an episode without getting upset or disappointed headache, always turned off tv and played outside or just changed channel
I'm 23
>Ahsoka
>Anakin is a chad for some reason
>pacifist Mandalorians
>resurrects Maul with completely different personality
>Anakin and Dooku duel every other week
>clones are now just regular people
>inhibitor chips
>Force magic
I still like a few episodes tho.
>complaining about pacifist Mandos
Found Karen Traviss.
Then why did they rip off Deathwatch lol
A bone thrown to the EUgays, nothing more.
Star Wars has been Disney since 1986 when Lucas and Disneyland teamed up to put the Star Tours ride in the Tomorrowland park section, I don't know why people pretend this franchise hasn't always been a Disney cartoon
>Star Wars has been Disney since 1986
Since 1977.
Looking back, yeah, it was. I don't count it anymore.
Ugh the show was a fricking chore to watch if you're a hardcore fan.
People will say "but George Lucas was involved!" but so was Dave Filoni. And Dave Filoni is a fricking hack.
>And Dave Filoni is a fricking hack.
So is Lucas
Nyx Okami
>literally "Night Wolf"
That fat weeb needs to frick off with his wolf fetish.
Lucas made good movies, Filoni didn't make anything good.
