I don't like her. Part of it is that she's not charming enough to make up for her annoying bits. The other part is that she's taking away from Cubetown stuff, which is much better. I wanna see Martin and the little science gremlin find a coffee shop or the troony swing her library dick around more than this shit.
Yeah I don't understand why they needed another character on the home team when they introduced so many new characters that have proven to be more interesting. I think I would've been okay with her in cubetown because she could've been a wacky one off but here she feels incredibly forced and annoying. Take me back to cubetown, I miss jello breasts
The real problem is that her plotline is mostly a copy of Liz's. Liz is a child prodigy who burnt out due to a lack of structure and was forced to confront her failure. Ayo is a scholarship winner who torpedoed her academic career due to a lack of structure and is being forced to confront her failure. Not only is it a lazy retread, Liz's neurotic ego bounces off characters very well while Ayo's desperation does not.
Bait and switch. There is no sister. Ayo is actually an anti-robot human supremacist assuming a carefully constructed identity to lure Hanners into a false sense of security and trust by playing on her neuroses and mental issues to kidnap her.
Ya girl gonna Patty Hearst Hanners. Patty Hearst that b***h so hard. Chain her in the closet, make her beg. Slap a collar on her and lead her around the apartment on a leash. Maybe a little butt stuff. Put in some thing lacy and sheer. Some latex once she gets the right measurements. A candlelit dinner or two since she's got that free trial for a meal prep delivery. A thrilling escape from the security bots that will inevitably hunt them down. Being saved by Hanners who has grown to see something deep inside ya girl in spite of it all. Endless days of crisscrossing backroads, constantly on the run, of paranoid nights of passion in rundown hotels finding fleeting moments of comfort and safety in each other's arms. Abandoning it all to the wild places where society will never find them, of a little homestead where they can live their lives free from anything but each other's love. You know, to save humanity. From the robots. Totally normal revolutionary stuff.
Old Hanners (if she had ever reached the point of having a relationship) could have probably have gotten into the idea of guaranteeing no mess by completely purging her entire digestive tract, followed by a marathon weekend of butt stuff.
It's the kind of logic she'd roll with.

For a long time Faye held that title - it wasn't just appearance that made her the Black Faye. It just also gave her character, and was acceptable within the comedic sociopathy allowed to a comedy comic strip. Ever since the robot fight club, she's been far more mellow, like everyone else.

Well, I was focused on the abusive part. And she DID fess up on the manipulation of Marten, which is what really put the comic on the map. With Sven, I'd say she played herself way more than she played him, by developing romantic feelings for a manprostitute while consciously refusing to make their relationship deeper, until the inevitable happened and she nearly drank herself to death in response.
