I was in your position and I just kind of started on a playlist of fez's nuttiness on youtube but that's probably not the best place to start because most of it is latter day Ron and Fez and you'll miss out on some of the context. Maybe a Black Earl compilation is a good place to start because that's mostly Early XM era R&F so you'll get a lot of Dave as well, and Fez in his early stages of nuttiness before he became a complete sobbing mess who would occasionally lash out in unhinged rage against callers and staffers.
Just to name a few, Cakehorn, early Midnight Rider stuff, anything with Black Earl and Dave going at it, Black Earl's fainting goat downfall saga.
Midnight rider saga isn't a bad starting point either because it's pretty early XM/Dave stuff. It starts out kind of slow with Dave getting "kicked off the show" and coming back with an intentionally obvious masked wrestler persona, but then Dave's real life relationship with his girlfriend starts to crash and burn off-air (and on-air as they talk about it) but Dave never actually breaks the "Midnight Rider" character which is where most of the humor comes from of this goofy weirdo in a mask having his soul crushed.

I started with the Midnight Rider saga on YouTube a few years ago and I've listened to Ron & Fez almost every day since.
