Raimi is a good director, but he couldn't salvage Multiverse of Madness and he won't be able to salvage this either. I'd prefer if all Marvel movies just went away for 20 or 30 years.
MoM's biggest problem was Raimi only coming in after too much work was already done. The parts that clearly have his signiture on them are stellar, the rest is slop.

Hopefully a project in which Raimi is helming it from rhe start would have much more influence from him.

>MoM was originally going to be about Nightmare instead of shitty conclusion to a TV show no one watched
pain
The show ends with Wanda’s kids (who were portrayed in the show as real) calling to her for help.
The movie has no reference to this motivation and she just wants to steal copies of her (now portrayed as not real) kids.
You can hand wave it as the forbidden book of evil makes her irrational or tells her contradictory things, but that’s why she’s the worst villain in the MCU, nothing she does makes any sense. She was technically the villain of her own show and a very good villain because everything she did was understandable.
>The show ends with Wanda’s kids (who were portrayed in the show as real) calling to her for help.
Because she's corrupted by the forbidden book of evil.
>The movie has no reference to this motivation
It was never established as a motivation.
>she just wants to steal copies of her (now portrayed as not real) kids.
They clearly weren't real, even if they existed.

The whole movie runs on “because she’s corrupted” which absolves them of having to give her motivations that make sense.
Turning someone into a psycho offscreen because of a book (which was never established in WandaVision as a corrupting force, or why wasn’t Agatha on a murder spree?) is such bad storytelling it’s almost wonderful.

She kinda was, and MoM establishes the book was designed to corrupt Wanda specifically.

It's one of the most fundamental rules of magic: don't trust books that read you.
80's Secret Wars was a toy commercial light on plot where an alien gathers heroes and villains on an arena planet called "Battleworld" and basically tells them to fight for his amusement.
2015's Secret Wars is a lore-heavy mega-event where aliens decide to destroy the Multiverse, Doctor Doom merges several different universes into a new Battleworld under his command, and the heroes must defeat him and restore the Multiverse.
It is understood that the MCU will merge both, with the plot allegedly featuring Kang merging different universes into a Battleworld under his command, and heroes from different movie continuities (MCU, Fox-Verse and Sony-Verse) teaming up to defeat him and restore the Multiverse, culminating in a MCU soft reboot.
The original Secret Wars was a team of heroes against a team of villains in a cosmic game. The one they're going to adapt, it's basically everyone vs Doctor Doom as god. But it's gonna play weirdly since they don't have the Illuminati, the Fantastic Four, Doom himself, Thanos or any other of the big elements from the original story. So they're gonna do some multiverse idiocy.
Multiverse of Madness’s character assassinations can be blamed on others (Raimi said he wasn’t even told of the existence of WandaVision until he and the writer were almost finished the new story for MoM; Feige didn’t care that Wanda has the same arc in both stories and figured no one else would care, wrongly), but the story was a rehash of Raimi’s older films and the whole thing felt like the kind of movie once-great directors make when they’ve lost their touch.
The thing in his favor is that he actually knows how to make an action blockbuster. Most MCU directors don’t and so they need hand holding all through the process. Supposedly Feige enjoyed working with Raimi for that reason, and he’s already rewarded Michael Waldron with this assignment after his shitty character writing for the title character of Loki, so I wouldn’t put it past him to just make it a MoM reunion and assume no one cares about character work.
No, we won’t, any more than you think your favorite character should be defined by the stories you hate the most.
Anyway WandaVision already did a mostly non violent version of the “go crazy and break reality” story and Elizabeth Olsen understandably was surprised that she was doing the same story (but with more violence) again.
Why should it be? No other superhero in the history of comics gets permanently defined by one writer randomly turning them into a villain, so why the hell should it happen to the one MCU heroine that actually got popular with audiences?
Can you think of even one other Marvel or DC character where there are people loudly insisting that their absolute worst stories NEED to be adapted like this? Of course you can't.
He says it but you honestly know he won't. The second he gets an okay Disney will do their best to reign in ANYTHING he attempts. They are already on play safe mode and that isn't Raimi's style.
Since fricking when? Have Raimigays seriously deluded themselves into believing he's some sort of unique artiste just because he likes to move the camera around?

is a good director
Like George Miller, Raimi has still got it visually but it's always the scripts that are the problem!!!FACT!!!
MoM got ruined by too many cooks asking for fanservice reshoots.
>he couldn't salvage Multiverse of Madness
Filtered.
MoM is the only good MCU movie after phase 3
Says more about the MCU rather than the quality of MoM
GOTG3 was better thoughbiet.
all the gotg movies are shit
Multiverse of Madness is shit, gay

>MoM's biggest problem was Raimi only coming in after too much work was already done.
He and Michael Waldron designed that movie from ground-up, don't be moronic.
>MoM was originally going to be about Nightmare instead of shitty conclusion to a TV show no one watched
pain
The movie doesn't even acknowledge the ending of the TV show so not even that
>Show ends with Wanda reading the forbidden book of evil
>Movie begins with Wanda corrupted by the forbidden book of evil
Are you daft?

Many such cases
It’s weird seeing a director like him go in for something like this, aren't the evil dead movie performing well?
Raimi is an actual capeshit fan.
That said he pretty much started the superhero craze.
He should end it.
Raimi likes slop and directing an MCU movie is an easy gig where the producers do it for you
Can anyone give me a QRD on why Secret Wars is soo highly regarded?!?FACT!!!
They're not even adapting the 80s Secret Wars people actually like, they're adapting the stupid 2015 one.
NTA but what's the difference between the 80s and the 2015 one.

That’s fricking moronic.
Why?
So the 80s' one is Fanfictasia.
I dont want another avengers film..
but I'd love to see what he could do with a dc title movie if only to see who he get's Bruce Campbell to play
I feel like he could have played Plastic Man or Booster Gold back in the day, maybe even Guy Gardner, but he might be too old now
I think Campbell would serve well as an older, retired hero like Jay Garrick.
What the frick does pic related even mean? Or is it just a zoomer trend to use words incorrectly
No, he's so much better than this. Unless, of course, the reports about it being Tobey's show are true, then there might be a point.
MoM already shows that Raimi can't overcome the MCU's executive meddling
1. no
2. he only says yes because they asked him.
>Director would like a paycheck
I really hate this twitter based GIB WORK/HIRE THIS MAN culture
Multiverse of Madness’s character assassinations can be blamed on others (Raimi said he wasn’t even told of the existence of WandaVision until he and the writer were almost finished the new story for MoM; Feige didn’t care that Wanda has the same arc in both stories and figured no one else would care, wrongly), but the story was a rehash of Raimi’s older films and the whole thing felt like the kind of movie once-great directors make when they’ve lost their touch.

>Multiverse of Madness’s character assassinations
Will Wandagays ever cope with the fact that going crazy and breaking reality will forever be part of her history and personality?
No, we won’t, any more than you think your favorite character should be defined by the stories you hate the most.
Anyway WandaVision already did a mostly non violent version of the “go crazy and break reality” story and Elizabeth Olsen understandably was surprised that she was doing the same story (but with more violence) again.
We had 3 Ant-Man movies without Hank slapping Janet.
Raimi should do a standalone DC film about Zatanna
It doesn't matter who directs it because Marvel style will always be forced on it.
He says it but you honestly know he won't. The second he gets an okay Disney will do their best to reign in ANYTHING he attempts. They are already on play safe mode and that isn't Raimi's style.
>that isn't Raimi's style.
Since fricking when? Have Raimigays seriously deluded themselves into believing he's some sort of unique artiste just because he likes to move the camera around?
They could have Tommy Wiseau and I still wouldn't give a shit.
>main villain is Ben and he's pissed that MCU Peter has jungle fever
Jesus Christ Raimi.
