How is anyone supposed to remember exactly how good each of them are? There are like 8 of them bro. And the last one came out a thousand years ago.

It's hard to rank these if you factor in the source material. And I don't just mean is the book good or bad, but how good is the movie as an adaptation. Prisoner of Azkaban isn't the best book, but it's probably the best movie. Goblet of Fire is the worst movie, but isn't the worse book. Order of the Phoenix is the longest book, but the shortest movie. Despite that, I think it's a decent adaptation. The Chamber of Secrets movie follows the book almost perfectly, but it is too long and has pacing issues. Factoring all of these things in, I would say

Cinemaphile contrarians loooooooooove to say Columbus>rest (and that 3 is in fact the ABSOLUTE worst, they're wearing jeans out of class REEEEEEEEE), but i rewatched most of the series recently and 1 looks like a bri'ish tv movie in terms of its production quality. yes it's soulful and there's the nostalgia-factor, but it just doesn't compare. what i was impressed by was how good 2 was, i had completely forgotten about it having not seen it since childhood. it's terrifically well-made, the production design is amazing and there's non-stop action for almost 3 hours, definitely the superior Columbus film, i feel like it gets an undeservedly bad rep
as for the ranking, i remain resolute in my opinion that 3 is the best. i used to like 5 a lot more (i think it's because book 5 used to be my favourite), but after the rewatch it went down considerably, while 4 and 7 shot up. overall, it's a tough call, but i'd probably say

I seriously don't understand why film morons circlejerk to Cuaron. Main advantage of 3rd book is its time travel plot, he got off that easy, and STILL screwed up. There's also anhorrent stuff like casting of Michael G*mbon. Don't get me wrong, DY is also horrible.

I hate how dark and muddled the color palette is on them. Like they has the stereotypical eastern Europe filter over them. Tbh I really wasn't a fan of the movies outside of the nostalgia on a recent rewatch.

First movie felt whimsical and magical, but eventually its a dreary dark academia thing and I'm not a homosexual who likes mean boys because they want to kiss them
3 had a good balance, and the game was pog too
