Because Gumball is overly reliant on meta humor, meme faces and stock character animation, it ranges from really good sometimes, super annoying at others and middling most of the time. The only shows I’d call consistently good here are SM and Wander

Not even remotely true if you actually have watched show in which you case you didn't considering Gumball doesn't rely on meta humor and meme faces when it does different types of humor from slapstick, surreal, witty, dark, and many more. And it even proves my point that you didn't watch the show when you say Gumball relies on its "stock animation" when it does different types of animation and arstyles for almost every episode. And the fact Gumball does also serious eps that aren't supposed to funny.
Also when I watched wander over gander and especially smiling friends they seem portray more on what you've criticize in Gumball.

I can tell you’re somebody whose easily impressed by different artstyles and doesn’t pay attention to how each character is actually animated. Because if you did you’d notice very quickly that Gumball reuses a lot of the same poses and expressions all locked to 3/4s view. Seriously go watch an entire season of Gumball and take a drink each time a character folds their arms or raises their eyebrow sardonically. Gumball has very impressive stuff with it’s animation but it’s often let down by the creators own lack of creativity and unwillingness to go off-model (unless it’s to do some unfunny meme reaction face)
