What am I supposed to do with my life now?
Start your fan fiction novel. The impossible love between an elf and a dwarf?
that was already a plot line in the hobbit films
An orc and an elf? A hobbit and a troll?
pipeweed and lembas?
Fap to CUTE and ONLY CUTE trans girls
You get into Warhammer the end game for all nerds
Frick off back to
Read the Silmarillion again and then explain. I already read it twice. It's. just a incoherent and unfinished mess.
what is incoherent about it? it's basically a history of the elves
It's a bunch of chaotic notes with 500000000 names glued together to make money from it. I mean there's a whole lot of potential in it, but it was never finished. Not even partially.
the stories made sense to me. are you sure you're not thinking of unifinshed tales.
No. I haven't read unfinished tales. It just felt unfinished. I mean one could've written like 10 books out of this.
Basically. But the hack is his son who thought who could publish a book out of a couple of notes for some easy money.
It’s basically the Old Testament absent the interesting bits
>Farathorn begat Garathorn who begat Nadriel who begat Eldriel
Tldr: Tolkien was a hack
Only the first couple of stories are about the creation of the world, and the genealogies are usually to give context to characters that show up later.
And this differs from the OT in what way? Thanks for proving my point
I'm sorry you are so butthurt about judaism and christianity that you can not read 10 pages of a fictional creation story and 6 lines of genealogy.
He was a Christian and took his inspiration from that. I don’t understand why this is contentious
I never said it was. The first bit is similar to the bible in that it's a creation story. After that it's stories about elves.
You mean the Elohim?
have a nice day
You’re just pissed because I’m correct. Many such cases
>absent the interesting bits
- feanor
- ungoliath
- morgoth (more goth!)
- ...
I thought there were some pretty interesting parts in it. Unfortunately not finished. Let's forget all of the Eru and the Music stuff, this was a little too much. I think drugs were involved here...
>Silmarillion
>Incoherent
It's not the best fantasy thing I ever read, but incoherent it ain't. You're either dumb or too impatient to process it.
I don't know. It's a bunch of short stories based on scattered notes where someone thought they might belong together. Maybe I give it another try. It's been a couple of years since I read it.
>you dumb
;_;
I was unfair to you and just being Saucy because that's the fourchan way. It's just not your thing and that's okay. It's barely my thing, but there are a couple of stories I really really like.
That's fine. I've been here long enough to not take things personal :DDDD
As already mentioned, I guess my "problem" with it is just that J. R. R. didn't finish it and it therefore doesn't have the depth and qualify LOTR has. So much "wasted" potential. I want w book/movie about Feonar...
It's more dry and boring than anything. Outside of the creation stuff if you don't have a vivid imagination to fill in the gaps you're gonna have a bad time.
I prefere just listening to the Blind Guardian concept album
>Blind Guardian
Pls don't (no offense)
You WILL listen to the german power metal
AND you WILL like it.
Lol. I'm a kraut and I hate it 😀
It's starting to actually hurt my feel feels how everyone I know IRL hates them. No one will even humor me.
Power Metal is just not my thing fren. I'm currently actually listening to Deutsche Musik which is Funker Vogt and Faderhead. But both of them do not cover tolkin's works.
?t=31
lol
OK. You're not into irony, then. OK.
No I get it that's why I'm laughing. It's not that deep lmao
>Everyone hates them
I like power metal, anon. You talkin' about Blind Guardian? I think they're b***hin', although I'm not all that schooled in them yet. I have a few albums of theirs on my phone and the vocals and sweeping reefs are masterful indeed.
>reefs
I meant riffs. But you knew that.
>no lost tales
>no tolkien reader
There is other stuff. Can't say I've read it though
>He hasn’t read the Great Tales, Tolkien’s letters, and the 12 volume History of Middle Earth
Upvoting the two nerds as love interests in OP’s fanfic
Is this any good?
I wish it was. I just couldn't get into it. MMO's aren't my thing really.
if you still like mmo gameplay from the early 00s then yeah
>watched Rings of Power
Get therapy? Hypnosis to forget?
There is more Fantasy other than Lotr to read.
Read Book of the new sun if you want strange edgy kino
Read Discworld of you want to have comical parody of Fantasy tropes while still having rich worldbuildning
Read The Wheel of Time if you really, really want to fall alseep
2nding New Sun. Very soulful, rereadable. Don't pay much mind to the unreliable narrator hype that built up around it, it's a nothingburger and will muddy your pleasure.
