Real Ending of Game of Thrones

I think that why people scratches their heads about Bran Stark being King (winning the game of Thrones) is because huge parts of his story arc was sidelines by D&D, alt the hacks didn't understood the notes GRRM gave them.

In my meaning, the whole point is for the three eyed raven to possess Bran's soul and trap him in the ether world so its in reality the three eyed raven and not Bran who rules the seven kingdoms.

Three eyed raven king Bran still isn't a great ending, like it's too out of nowhere in the context of ending the series, like "Turns out this old Targaryen possesses Bran and becomes King of Westeros" ok but to what end? It sounds more the setup to a finale rather than an ending

It's only out of nowhere if you're an adhd zoomie who doesn't pay attention. They spent over half the series drawing Bran and his group to Bloodraven. They tell his story and why he's there. D&D forgot that he's not a kindly old, sympathetic man out to help Bran out of the goodness of his heart. He's an evil man seeing his chance to seize power and renewed life by taking this young boy's body. And he kills Jojen and feeds him to Bran in the process.

Where does he go to the bathroom? Is he covered in bedsores?

I don’t think he eats in the normal sense he’s part tree now.

I mean in the context of everyone else in the story, Bloodraven isn't known to these people so he'll take over Bran, become King, and no one is the wiser. Like his master plan works perfectly sure but then the ending is literally just
        >"People don't realize I'm actually the Three-Eye Raven"

Was the night king the good guy?

But again, that's still "out of nowhere". Tree man is not a big part of the game of thrones. Him coming out with a steel chair and winning and not any of the players that suffered many wins and loses is just a 90 degree turn.

There weren't any "Team Raven" shirts were there?

3eR isn't the Bloodraven, it's the tree. Bloodraven was just many of the creatures it took over. That's what all the bones are alluding too. It's a Parasite

Yeah I think they’ll defeat the white walkers and “the great other” which is actually the Weirwood network, but bran will become king and is actually the tree parasite so it wins in the end despite being defeated.

I believe GRRM's original plan was to have Arya be the "winner", it was in a letter he wrote to the publisher when the books were first being made. Who knows with that fat lazy frick though, he probably never had an ending and never will.

The story isn’t over yet. That’s my prediction.
    >do you think we did the right thing
    >ask me again in ten years
    >cliffhanger of Daenerys corpse being flown to Essos where Red Priestess lives
    >never seen Bran coronation or do anything as King
    That’s my prediction

The constant allusions to Bran being changed or even maybe evil (at least ominous) meshes so strangely with the final episode's optimistic tone. What the hell were they thinking?

They had a problem with it because it didn't make sense. Bran didn't lead shit, never united people, never fought with and for people. Jon Snow did. Jon should have killed the night king, and should have been king.

The entire last season was abject shit and completely undermined everything the series established over the years before that shit show aired.

    >says "frick the other kingdoms, we're independent now"
    >the rest of the wardens are ok with that
Why not just split everything and make some sort of alliance?

Dorne would certainly immediately split off. Iron Islands would too really. What're they gonna do? Immediately go back to war? Their armies are trashed and they don't even have any dragons

Even if they never attack each other, there's no reason to submit to Bran "The Rape" Stark's reign.
        >dorne
Exactly, not even the Targs managed to tame Dorne, and they had dragons. They joined by their own terms, via political marriage.

Why would King Bran the broken declare war on his sister, her lover, and some random bloke no one met?

If his six kingdoms were suddenly reduced to four kingdoms without his say in the matter? I'm sure him and his leadership would be quite upset. Or else, what's the point of their reign?

I honestly don't see her Independent North lasting too long. Like her kingdom depends on trade from the south for food and such from the Reach, and I would assume any trade deals would be far more fair when they are both under the same king and not two separate kingdoms. Basically Bronn could be charging her double the price for food now since its trade with a foreign power.
Not to mention the matter of succession, unless Sansa marries one of her Northern lords to continue the line she's fricked since Jon has fricked off to bang wildling chicks, Arya sailed away to westwesteros, and Bran probably can't even get an errection.

Seriously. It's played as some "triumph of le girl power" but if we're talking about actual kingdoms with real nobility and real logistics it's a complete disaster. The North is in utter ruins and winter is starting, they'd be price gouged by any and everyone with no recourse. Everything is set up to start another crisis shortly since she's against marriage and procreating and Bran likely can't. They're both going to be surrounded by snakes vying for power too, have no nearby family, plus barely any truly trusted allies.

How would you have fixed the ending?

    >keep everything the same
    >add an epilogue in the end three years into the future
    >Bran has gone full 3 Eyed Raven and revealed his true motives to take over the world
    >Sansa is mentally fricked up from all the years of being manipulated and used like a pawn and has gone full mad queen
    >Sansa and Bran go to war with each other
    >Jon marches his army of wildlings back south to trying to talk some sense into the Starks, and if he can’t he’ll just go to war with them
    >Arya sails back to Westeros possessing unspeakable powers from Asshai
    >War of the Four Starks happen

The ending could have been fixed with an explicit discussion of the tax policy of the various factions involved in the conflict (complete with graphs.) That's what makes GRRM's fantasy distinct from his competitors after all.

Issue is, George started focusing too much on the troonygaryens and becoming obsessive over useless background elements.
