Isn’t there an enby troon character too? Is she referred to as “they” or is the character being non-binary something relegated to twitter posts by the people behind the movie?

Yep. The whole thing is completely pozzed and Snyder had 100% creative control. No one was forcing him to make this dogshit, and yet he chose to make it like this out of his own freewill.

There is a sort of guide regarding the movie's lore that NETFLIX released.

Basically, Kora killed the king and princess on Balisarius' orders.

            Here's the info:
            >A military hero turned politician, Balisarius created a coalition of senators and other powerful interests who stewed over the increasing benevolence of their king. When the king christened a vast Imperial Dreadnought as a vessel of peace, they seized their opportunity and removed him from the throne.
            >Following the brutal assassination that wiped out the royal family, corrupt dignitaries claimed power. The slain king’s disarmament campaign was brought to a brutal halt, and in its place rose a new and unforgiving regime. The story of Rebel Moon picks up five years later…
            >As a child, Kora’s life was spared by Balisarius and he adopted her as his own daughter.
            >Balisarius named her Arthelais and taught her the hard lessons of war. She was stripped off notions of identity, gender, and culture. In the Academy Militarium she was remade in the image of her adoptive father.
            >At the age of 18, she was made an officer, given a command, and fought for the king under the banner of the army that murdered her family.
            >Following Kora’s military success, Balisarius engineered an appointment to act as Royal Seneschal and bodyguard to the king’s daughter, the Princess Issa.
            >Issa was called the Chalice, the Redeemer, the Lifesaver — a divine being born of flesh and blood who was said to have the power to restore life.
            >The galaxy’s faithful believe that Issa could usher in a new age of peace and compassion after years of war.
            >Issa’s benevolent influence over her once-fearsome father frightened his warmongering allies, and the ambitions of Balisarius overrode his loyalty to the king. The coup struck with fury, with Kora acting as the tip of the spear, and the world was forever changed.

Zack Snyder plagiarises every other major sci-fi franchises for what he thinks are their most cool thangs and moments but still can't tie it all together in a coherent way.

The dude is a hack and can't even make it look cool any more. His one decent ability was to frame things well and set a good scene but even that looks beyond him now.

The last monarch of the old kingdom was initially hell-bent on a ruthless expansion of power. But the birth of his daughter, Princess Issa, radically changed how he saw his kingdom’s place in the universe. This shift to a more peaceful relationship with the galaxy led to a murderous coup, severing the royal bloodline.
The radiant heir to the throne of Motherworld was prophesied to reset her crumbling, warlike kingdom. But her growing influence over her father disturbed the ruling class, and a group of senators — including the future Regent Balisarius — overthrew and murdered Issa and her father, bringing an end to the peaceful prophecy that surrounded her and the reign of the royal family.

I like that it just dropped us in the middle of the world and did not stop to dump exposition about every little thing and how it worked. I liked that Evil Han Solo spent the whole time piloting his ship by running around the bridge from station to station like Doctor Who and never sat in the pilot chair like he was playing Wing Commander. I liked how powerful all the weapons sounded. I like that they did not even name their FTL drive because who gives a frick. I like that they showed how the empire was rotten to the core and did not play cute about it. Lots of shit man it was just a fun movie. I look forward to seeing more.

This fricking lame ass shit piece of wannabe Saga bollocks is baffling in its incoherence. It only makes sense as an actual roleplaying game (as opposed to the fake one they’re cancelling based off this dumpsterfire). Think of it for a sec:
    >classic RPG plot (defend the village!) that seems like it’s setting up a group of rebel girl, spacemarine, robot, and princess.. but 3/4 players realise the gm is shit and drop it after the first session (probably after the rape scene). Edgy rebel only stays on because she has ten pages of lore to exposit. Speaking of...
    >character lore dumps their absurd backstory out of nowhere, hitting the edgy/tragic/overpowered trifecta.
    >not one but TWO barfights! The Gm really wanted to proposition that new PC for gay sex
    >”yeah but I’m a slave, so what if I like... payed off my debt by riding the beast chained outside. And it’s so cool and he respects me as a fellow chained creature, and I like crash him on a rock and leap off into the abyss and catch hold of his feathers and” “Jesus FRICKING christ Jimmy, we don’t even know your name yet”
    >speaking of which: names pulled out of the GM’s ass. “You have to go to... Bollocks. I mean p-Pollocks.”
    >randomly characters leave their hastily established lives to go protect a village they know frick all about.. Zero explanation is given why they do this btw.

I turned it off after the spider fight. I don’t regret watching, it was hilarious, but there’s only so long you can hang around shit before you start to smell of it.

Yeah he really should have been part of the traveling team. Or we should have been given one scene of him back at the farm atoning for his imperialism and learning to be a farmer.
Maybe he'll be more important in the third. This is supposed to be a trilogy, right? The moment I realized it was 7 Sams, I figured we were getting one movie about the team gather, one movie about the home prep, and one movie about the final assault.
Soldier boy who traitored would be more of a presence in two, hopefully.

    >During a recent interview with Collider's Editor-in-Chief, Steve Weintraub at CCXP, the director talked about how the inclusion of graphic violence and explicit content sets the tone for his latest project, saying:

    >"Yes, it's influenced sort of iconographically in some ways. We have space fascists, they have space fascists, but I was kind of into that relationship because I like the comment. I think that's one thing that you'll see in the director's cut that is different from the PG-13 version is the irony of a super hard R-rated sci-fi movie at this scale is cleaner in the R-rated version. In the PG-13, we push. It's a hard PG-13. We push them to the ragged edge."

    >Snyder added to his comments: "The sort of sex and violence aspect of it, being able to understand that, like, for instance, when they go into the bar, it's a brothel, right? It's like a real brothel, and the dog-faced man wants to frick them. That's what he wants. And so that wouldn't happen in a Star Wars movie, you know? But I like the idea that I saw Star Wars when I was 11 years old. I've grown up now. The implications of what could be happening in that bar, that cantina, are now a reality to me. These are things that could have been going on, and would have been, if looked at from the perspective of a grown-up."

The gunner was maneuvering the whole thing so he could get firing solutions with the ship guns. Apparently nobody planned on him getting killed by a spear and having someone send them into a nosedive.

How do you know it wasn't consensual?

It wasn't but I'm going to be honest I would totally do my part for the harvest with that b***h every night.

Maybe I should place a greater emphasis on the meaningful, but subtlety forces the audience to engage more fully. Gunn and Snyder are the most heavy-handed directors working, and few of their "references" really carry any vital meaning to the film. For Snyder it's just a way of appearing cultured while for Gunn it's just constantly grinding axes with WB.

It’s kiche sci-di. Star wars + a little more grimness. The imperium stuff is straight warhammer but it’s really not terrible. The anon that said Sofia B. grew breasts for this movie is right, she looks very frickable. I’d say 7/10 and it’s the best “new” IP in a long time. I’d like to see Amazon give Cavill the same production value for his Warhammer show.

it is just reprocessed sci-if tropes but it’s kind of nice to see them all in the same package. Merry Christmas gays.

The rumor is that Cavill's character is fighting some space horrors in the distant and unknown sectors of space, without knowing that his father and sister were slain. He'll be back in the third movie and be wanting vengeance. He's described as a fallen prince and a dark knight.

Understand that they were there because they knew that the farming planet was feeding the rebels they were hunting.

How can you frickers watch movies, say the movie is nonsensical or whatever, but not understand easy shit that is literally spelled several times by the characters?

Yeah, Kora pressures Bloodaxe with it though I'm not sure the movie made it clear the Imperials knew about the food or whether having fed the rebels just had the consequence of the rebels living on and now being hunted down.

The movie clues you in several times that Noble is there because he knows the farming planet is feeding the rebels.
He mention the rebels as soon as he lands and that he is hunting them.
Kora and Gunnar see the contact that Gunnar sold the seeds to, being taken by bounty hunters. That contact was feeding the rebels. The bounty hunters then bring that contact to Noble.

They do but their supply lines were being attacked by the rebels. That's what sent them down to that little planet in the first place and why the rebels went with them on that suicide mission to protect the village. It was pretty much all their fault.

Disney shills have gotten very creative with how they attempted to shift the shill narrative against Snyder. What a coincidence that Rebel Moon competes with Star Wars. Justice league was meant to compete with Marvel. Watchmen was a deconstruction of superheroes. It's clear that Disney and its shills are very afraid of this man.

The orgy was clearly meant to be conducted between a man and a woman, most preferably husband and wife.
The old man himself said that the last step for Kora to be seen as a member of their society was to go steady with the handsome hunter that everyone were praising.

Zack Snyder recently said that the Imperium make the people all conduct themselves the same way, with no place for an identity or even gender outside of being an androgynous soldier, and that part of Kora's character arc is to finally open herself to be a woman again. To feel feminine and vulnerable, fall in love, and find a purpose other than just fight.
