To start with the robot is the coolest character and basically not in the film after the 20 minute mark. The idea of a little 5'5" arab girl beating up dozens of men with her fists and exchanging face punches with a cyborg dubious at best.
They go to a gay bar and the male lead gets his balls grabbed by a homosexual pigman who offers to buy the guy for gay sex in his dirty bed from the main girl. Han Solo joins them to betray them later and outright declares his intentions but nobody cares. They goto some planet and get turok, he's literally a shirtless Indian guy named Tara who tames and rides a hippogryph and its never brought up again. You know his gay race is gonna ride their gay mounts in the climax or some gay shit like the hawkmen in flash Gordon. Then they goto Roman planet and the black guy from gladiator is a drunkard genius tactician supposedly. They want him to join and he says no unless its for revenge. They immediately go and recruit an Asian dual wielding lightsaber girl who says she will join them unless its for revenge. she joins and this is never brought up again. The characters do not even speak to eachother in reference to things happening around them like at all. The dialogue in early final fantasy games is robust compared to this level of characterization. They are completely unearned slapdash ripoff of better characters hamfisted together for no reason but to be diverse and cool. The main fight and really all the fights totally suck because nobody just shoots this lil arab b***h when she's the only target and they all engage her one at a time and it just fricking sucks. There are some cool visuals because the setting is so clearly ripped from 40k.

Snyder has stated that his intent is for Rebel Moon to become "a massive IP and a universe that can be built out."[5] A role-playing video game based on Rebel Moon was in development as of March 2023, alongside an animated short and a graphic novel.[60][61] A novelization of the film written by V. Castro was published by Titan Books on December 26, 2023.[62] Snyder announced in July 2023 plans for a TV series focusing on Balisarius.[63] At Gamescom in August 2023, Snyder announced that Super Evil Megacorp was developing a four-player co-op action game that would be exclusively available on the Netflix Games platform.[64] In September 2023, Evil Genius Games sued Netflix for terminating a deal that allowed them to produce a tabletop role-playing game set in the Rebel Moon universe.[65]

A four-issue prequel comic entitled Rebel Moon: House of the Bloodaxe by writer Magdalene Visaggio and artist Clark Bint will be published by Titan Comics in January 2024.[66] Set five years before the events of the film, the comic depicts backstory for the characters of Devra and Darrian Bloodaxe, leaders of a band of outlaw revolutionaries. In November 2023, a narrative-podcast, an animated comic book, and an animated series were announced to be in development with each project taking place chronologically before the feature films.[67] The animated short is set to tell the story of the Kali, the "shadowy figures" who power the Motherworld's "most dangerous technology".[11]

    >REBEL MOON R-rated cut will show brain-matter, torn limbs, full frontal nudity, and fake cum
    >>Zack Snyder on the 3 hours R rated cut of Rebel Moon Part 1: “Way more brutal. More bizarre. Verhoeven-esque. More RoboCop than you know... in the way that is uses violence as another character. And there's a lot of nudity and sex in it, and Sci-Fi fantasy.”
    >One of the main differences between the original and the director's cuts will be their explicit content. Rebel Moon received a PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association for "sequences of strong violence, sexual assault, bloody images, language, sexual material, and partial nudity." While the original version is already pushing the limits of the PG-13 rating and drawing some ire, the extended director's cuts will be rated R, allowing them to show even more of the aforementioned explicit content, including some very, VERY graphical sex scenes as well as a rape scene.

    >“It is a deeper dive into Zack’s lore. It’s a deeper dive into these characters individually, how they intersect, how they got there, and the inner workings of them trying to, form a team to stand up against the enemies.”
    >Michiel Guisman noted that the pace is “up, always” in Netflix’s first version, but the director’s cut will give viewers a chance to “dive into a bit more backstory and into these characters. Their tics and how they interact.”
    >Ray Fisher, reuniting with Snyder after their DC collaborations, also stressed that “the action in the director’s cut is going to be R-rated as well, so those fight sequences will be much more intense.”
    >One fight featuring Boutella’s rebel leader is especially crunching, even with a softer age rating. “After seeing the rated R [version of that scene], I remember feeling that it was so violent – and I couldn’t put my finger on why. I didn’t feel like I saw much more blood than in the PG-13 cut. I don’t know if it’s the editing or the sound, but it’s so visceral and ambitious,” she said.

      Anonymous

      Seen it.

      >The Snyder Cut’s four-hour running time greatly expands on a plot that in the theatrical version felt cursory and rushed. Much more context is provided to explain the origins of the Mother Boxes (all-powerful devices with distinctly Freudian undertones whose theft imperils the world and sets this story in motion), as well to clarify the motivations of Darkseid and his horned minion, Steppenwolf, whose efforts now have an added dimension of centuries-old vengeance. There’s also an in-depth flashback revealing former battles between the forces of good and evil, and two extended dream sequences showing the fate that might befall the world should the bad guys prevail.

I feel like the people making this fundamentally misunderstand how sex and nudity is supposed to work in this sort of movie. A movie like this is supposed to have hot babes losing their clothes while being menaced by cool sci-fi monsters, only to be saved in the nick of time by the hero who slays the beast and then cops a feel as he spirits the girl away to safety. There should be rapey situations. The hero should be maybe a little too chauvenistic for modern sensibilities. The girls should exist in a near-constant state of having wardrobe malfunctions. But actual graphic rape and dismemberment of women is not appealing except to a minority of edgelords.
