Yeah frick Daredevil. But I just want to read as much as I can before I start watching the Netflix show
NTA, but the Netflix show truly is awful. The first season is okay, the second season is abysmal, and the third season is better than two but still not as good as one. It's massively overrated. People praise Punisher, but he was like 10% of the second season.
>Based on what I've read:
Miller >Daredevil: The Man Without Fear #1-5 (Miller, 1993) >Daredevil #168-191, 219, 226, 227-233 ("Born Again") >Daredevil: Love and War >Elektra: Assassin >Elektra Lives Again
I also read Mack, Bendis, and Zdarsky and I do not recommend them. I've read a little of Nocenti and it wasn't good either, but I won't speak on her entire run.

I agree. The show isn't that good.
The fights aren't as well choreographed as everyone says. Most of the hits don't look like they connect.
D'Onofrio also hams it up pretty bad as Fisk.

what the hell? everyone kept saying it was good and not at all like the MCU.

I don't know about everyone else, but I plain dislike live action superheroes. I'm basically judging it compared to live action media in general.

The Netflix show is actually good. The guys ITT saying it's completely awful are just being somewhat Cinemaphilentrarian.
At any rate, you should just try watching it yourself instead of listening to either of our opinions here. We're just internet strangers. You should trust your own judgement.

Why would I bother with a defense at ten to 4 in the morning if you can't even bother providing an argument in the first place? >oh you LIKED the show??? >lol shit taste proven
Wow, fantastic criticism there, anon.
For the record, I do agree with you that the Hand, Elektra, and the way they handled Ben Urich suck. The show's still good. You acting high and mighty and telling people they've got shit taste because >he liked [X] just because you think otherwise isn't the winning indictment you think it is

There is literally an entire season of Daredevil fighting the Hand with the rest of the Defenders.

Defenders is a separate miniseries. It's not actually a part of Daredevil.
Though it's definitely a pretty lame series, so it deserves some shit.

I remember reading the season one writers regretted killing off Ben. They apparently didn't think the show was going to actually last and would have kept him around had they realized it was going be such a success.

It's a pretty brutal scene for Kingpin, but it sucks that they offed Ben so soon when he's also a great character

The first season of Daredevil was genuinely good compared to the rest of the Netflix shows and a good chunk of the MCU. The bar might be low but it's worth at least checking out.
Idk I think the writing in Bendis' DD is pretty solid. Lots of good stuff with him dealing with the aftermath of his identity becoming public. Bendis kind of stays on top long though and Brubaker delivers a more satisfying run overall. 2000s DD is great though because other than Shadowland the comic is consistently written well for like 15 years straight.
You never read a single DD comic in your life.
OP, read everything with Gene Colan on it. Read Gerry Conway's run with Black Widow. MIller's run, O'Neill's run, Nocenti's run, even Chichester's run. Read Guardian Devil then frickin stop.
>You never read a single DD comic in your life.
Nice strawman, butthole. DD has always been chasing Spider-Man's shadow, and all people harp about is fricking Frank. Nobody cares about The Hand, and him trying to monopolize Fisk is moronic.
>High recommend (What remains after multiple reads)
Daredevil #168-182, #187-191 - Frank Miller
Daredevil Born Again - Frank Miller
Daredevil #253-257, #259-263, #265-268, #284-291 - Ann Nocenti
Daredevil The Man Without Fear - Frank Miller
>Personal recommend (Very much B comics, but I like them)
Bullseye Greatest Hits - Daniel Way
Punisher vs Bullseye - Daniel Way
Frank Miller, then stop.
See this just proves DD is overrated

The Netflix show sucks. Just read Miller.
You people hate everything and can't be trusted.

Really? Bendis' Daredevil gets shilled a lot when people dare to talk positively about him.
Bendis' Daredevil is shit.
>Bendis' Daredevil gets shilled
Where, on Reddit?
moron.
It used to get shilled here until people decided everything bendis did was bad. Same with ultimate spiderman
It still has its fans, and so does USM, but they are just not good comics. Neither is Alias. They're full of Bendisisms and phoned-in art.
The art in Bendis DD is great, the writing is dogshit, same for his Moon Knight run.

Well I read it. And he's right
Nice argument bro
Miller, Nocenti, Bendis, Brubaker, Waid, Zdarsky,
>zdarsky
ah. you are joking with me. I see now.
Miller is a classic, Waid is fun, Bendis is Bendis. Also check out Yellow.
Waid's is garbage.
shadowland LMAFOOOOOOO
also the following black panther run
which one?

Why the frick would you skip over 183-186?
I liked Chichester's run and I liked Kelly's run
Either start with Miller's first issue as writer or the issue before his first issue as artist.
The stop during Chicester's run. At whatever point you think it starts to suck. Then MAYBE skip ahead to Bendis's run and continue through Brubaker's.
Pic related is good.
That list is shit and nothing marked under silver age is silver age
