I've fallen off Drinker and Nerd because I feel like politics and emotion influence their judgements a little too much, but I do still like Mauler. If he says something has a solid narrative I've found it's usually worth my time, though it's not a guarantee I'll watch.

Truthfully most are funny on their own but I think the rankings are more by who has more comedic chemistry with more people and willingness to push the comedic boundaries. Patton Oswalt was not at all funny when he went on.

No one has ever had an original creative thought. Every creation is just stealing two things and smashing them together. Creativity doesn't exist, its a trick, conjured by stealing from enough things to muddy the source that it seems original. AI is no different.

Every last story or artwork has a lineage of theft going back to pre-history.

You unironically think typing a prompt is the same as an actual painting?

You can't control the lighting, color schemes, props, costume designs, or a thousand other variables. You can only get so specific in a prompt and the models are only trained with so many images.

Like the SORA "airhead" video. They had to manually put the balloon onto people's bodies in most shots because their dataset didn't have any headless people in it. They also had a shit ton of problems getting any shots coherent enough to fit their extremely vague narrative. It's just random shots with a narrator to tie them together.

There's a reason you can spot an AI image with ease. They all look the fricking same.

They're already reaching a point where they're becoming indistinguishable from real life and real "art".

                >You can literally control all of these things if you specify it in the prompt.
No, you fricking can't. You can't change the degree of the lightsource at fricking all or how many lights there are. You're fricking full of shit.

And good luck getting the actual costume you want. You'll get something vague to what you're looking for but it won't be exact. Like changing a studded collar on a goth girl. There are a million designs out there and the AI can't tell the difference between them.
                >indistinguishable from real life and real "art".
AI art sticks out like a sore thumb. I can instantly tell if something is AI or not.

The vast majority of what those 99% pump out is just "what if existing IP was female/black/gay/transgender", not really too different from what you say AI does when you think about it. Go spend a couple of hours on twitter and see what most artists are actually like. They are insufferable. Artists with actual talent will still be able to thrive in a world with AI.

        surely it's an ethical question

          >You can't just say a film company gets a pass to use it because they're small that doesn't make sense.

          It makes complete sense.

I understand small, indy film makers cutting corners to save on expenses. But when a movie company spends $300m making and marketing a movie, and expects to gross $500m+, then I don't think they should be using the cheap AI option

            Anonymous

No it doesn't. So it's only unethical if you can't afford it? Either it's wrong and shouldn't be done or it's fair game.

If you're fine with a small Indy studio acting unethically to save on expenses I would ask to what end. Would you risk your crews health by shooting extremely long hours? Or your actors safety?

Reminder that anti-AI gays are all about supporting small artists. But according to them if you're a broke artist trying to make do with tools that are available, you don't deserve to get any work.

Not arguing if it is or isn't. But there are absolutely ways that you can use AI as a tool within someone's art.
Harassing and getting the industry to blacklist a broke college student showing off their talents because they used some AI voices is what the anti gays do. Same with them going after LNWTD (a low budget indie film) using 5 seconds of AI imagery. They don't actually care about small artists.

when did this happen? I'm not trying to be cheeky, genuinely wondering as to avoid it myself with my own projects. I'm not going to hire a fricking VA for some generic battle grunts and yelps for characters, and SFX voice packs cost too much and sound gay

What I'm referencing is a Scooby Doo stop motion fan film that got a ton of shit from anti AI gays for using AI voices. The guy was just trying to show off his talents and gather enough Patreon money so he could hire actual voice actors and work on more projects. But they all attacked him and even got voice actress Grey DeLisle involved who tried to get him blacklisted.
Seeing how they reacted to that and LNWTD has made me hate these homosexuals with a passion.

I don't like AI, but amateur voice actors are the biggest gays when it comes to opposing AI. If anyone deserves to be replaced it's them. They have literally nothing outside doing impressions and they want to treated like gods because of it.
They're not just gays in the AI sphere as well.

And voice actors have been stealing art longer than AI, and I don't mean the gay "inspiration is stealing" logic. I mean they'll take someone's comic without permission, read out the speech bubbles and monetize it for themselves.

They still shit on bad movies, but they're either old or indie-slop. They refuse to shit on NEW mainstream movies for the reasons I gave.

    >"Western man towers over the rest of the world in ways so large as to be almost inexpressible. It's Western exploration, science, and conquest that have revealed the world to itself. Other races feel like subjects of Western power long after colonialism, imperialism, and slavery have disappeared. The charge of racism puzzles whites who feel not hostility, but only baffled good will, because they don't grasp what it really means: humiliation. The white man presents an image of superiority even when he isn't conscious of it. And, superiority excites envy. Destroying white civilization is the inmost desire of the league of designated victims we call minorities."
