not using Mr. Mind was a mistake and I’m still mad about it but that’s not why the movie tanked. it tanked because to people who didn’t care about the universe it was a bland as frick paint-by-numbers superhero flick and to people who did care about the universe it didn’t matter because everything was getting reset.

The movies being so New 52 heavy might've meant they were left in a lurch with nothing to do since Geoff Johns wrote most of the character's comics from 2011 to 2020. IMO they should've gone with other comics of inspiration.
But even Geoff Johns material had stuff to use. Sabbac could have easily been in 2, or Black Adam if Johnson wasn't such an butthole
Putting the Mr. Mind tease was more Cereal Lord's fault than anything else.

The funniest thing is that they realized that Black Adam was a lost cause, and had to get Mark Strong back to do basically the exact same scene again for Shazam 2's post credits in case they managed to squeeze a third movie out.
I took the post credit scene as the directors frick you to the producers that fricked his movie up. I thought the movie was fine for the most part but the ending with that atrocious gal Gadot pissed me right off, it actually ruined the movie
I vaguely remember reading some shit about how Mr Mind was planned as the villain. But when the Rock vetoed a Shazam vs Black Adam film it messed up their plans for a trilogy so they shelved Mr Mind for a final film and used the oc villains instead.
The fact the Rock had enough sway to do this shit to begin with will never not baffle me. WB literally just let an actor tank an entire franchise out of sheer ego.
Rock tried to pull the same stunt again with WWE these past few months. Thankfully the damage control doing so has actually been producing some entertaining television, but his ego is nutty

Why do they insist on drawing Mister Mind as some ugly, scary monster? The whole point of his character is that he was a monstrously evil villain who just happens to look like a cute and harmless little worm.

i think creepy bugface mind would work for the movie, it's more ominous and alien, and the voice fits it really well.
that's what really pisses me off about this whole debacle. it's a good fricking portrayal of a good fricking character and we're never going to see it again.

Billy Batson is not a little punk shit kid who gets lucky by finding the wizard. He's a newsie with a heart of gold and his innocent demeanor makes him most worthy to possess that power followed by Freddy and Mary. Never NEVER in a million billion years would Billy uses his powers to do shit like go to Strip Clubs or buy Alcohol. Making him a prick because you think you need edge is no different than making Superman a brooding jerk who crashes through buildings with reckless abandon. FRICK SAKE. Billy could've BEEN the one to have that Golden Age pluckiness if you were going to make Superman the opposite! Black Adam is not a Superman foe. The last thing I have to say is Zachary Levi can not act. The kid who plays Billy has a specific way of talking, moving and talking that made him come off older than he was. Meanwhile Zacharay acted like a fricking 10-year-old. Man. What a mess. Also the 7 suits made them all look like Power Rangers.
