More than anything I'm more surprised he seems to get a lot of normal artist work. Like yes we get it he's a coomer pedo artist and everything and we know that can be enough to make a living off commission. At any rate, he used to do very beautiful personal work before he found his gold mine with Loud House (and subsequent cartoons). He had a series of works called Glitch Girl, featuring art that ranged from borderline religious to psychedelic, from military themed to shitposty, and it was all really artsy and gorgeous. So it's no surprise to me he had gallery appearances, his work deserved that recognition.
But the high effort stuff just doesn't pay the bills like comparatively simple smut of popular cartoon characters does, so he hasn't really done any more of it in years.
