I’ve been thinking about watching this. I tried in college and was sour to it. Now that the thing is over I figured watching a complete story with a lot of eyes on it might be worth.
It has a very steep decline once the mystery is resolved. After that it's genuinely not even enjoyable to watch, especially when MAPPA took over and made the shows animation (which was one of its strong points) into a complete joke

I watched the entire thing cause of sunk cost fallacy. The animation was still ass throughout. Compare it to the animation in the Levi chase scene or the Levi vs beast titan scene. It looks like a bad joke in comparison. Combine that with the fact that they made the art style flat and ugly (wtf are those stupid lines on their faces) and it just looks like fricking shit the entire time.

Wrong, the best part of the entire series is the narrative change when Reiner is the lead. You can stop right after Declaration of War, nothing is good or resolves in a satisfying manner following that >Seasons 1-3: the actual show & conclusion >Season 4 up to Declaration of War: good epilogue & backstory on what the villains were doing to give context to the events of the first 3 seasons

Just delete that scene and I think outside of some unexplored mysteryboxes the only real problem is there was no “awesome” defining moment when the theme music blared and a character did something cool. Like Levi killing the beast should have been a 3-minute sequence with flashbacks and inner monologues and cool music and shit but instead it was turned into a 0.5 seconds of screen time gag.

I REALLY wish they just did some LOST time frickery and showed us the battle with the beast and shit BEFORE the Historia stuff then went back and showed us the Historia stuff THEN time skipped. The Historia stuff is especially painful because none of it mattered whatsoever in any way when at least when I was watching it initially I thought this was all building up to something but when it was just a forgotten mystery box or whatever it’s an automatic >>FFWD on all Ymir/Historia scenes when I rewatch it
Nah for me it was S2. The whole brigade of naruto kids and their cringe humor for the first 10 episodes until shit started really hitting the fan sucked. Them trying to catch the female titan and the beast first showing up and all that stuff is easily the best part of the show.
As soon as they did the 24 hour perspective fromst I knew it was going to shit. The entire premise was a mystery box so the entire season was going to be wasted on concluding frick all.

I've noticed a trend that my favorite reactors are homely women that aren't desensitized by gore and porn watching things way out of their element and enjoying it. I watched them react to chernobyl and when they showed the naked miners they were like covering their faces "OMG KATE MOM & DAD WATCH THIS" "don't worry we'll cover it".

pre-timeskip: 10/10, probably my second favorite anime after Yu Yu Hakusho.
post-timeskip: 6/10, great action and some fun character moments but the whole think buckles under the weight of the worldbuilding and twists.

unironic kino. I started watching them recently too. They really get into it and attempt pay attention instead of talking over every important part and then ask what's happening.
Them and PiB are my favorite reacts. I've noticed a trend that my favorite reactors are homely women that aren't desensitized by gore and porn watching things way out of their element and enjoying it. I watched them react to chernobyl and when they showed the naked miners they were like covering their faces "OMG KATE MOM & DAD WATCH THIS" "don't worry we'll cover it".
Plus they pause to read the novels in the mid-episode card or whatever you call it so you know they're into it.
I can't bring myself to watching normies not hate the ending
I've only seen a handful actually acknowledge the moronation
They just ended S1 on youtube so they got a while. I suspect they might be very skeptical of it judging by their conversations after each episode.
Time travel has always been the gayest plot device. Why do people still do it?
