Marvel just... doesn't understand how to do these stories. Also, Lee/Kirby/Ditko/Romita Sr./etc. are such beloved and iconic figures that it feels insulting whenever they do something like this.
Stuff like Long Halloween or Batman and the Monster Men work because a) top tier talent put into the writing and art and b) literally NOBODY except the most hardcore DCgays, namely, the people who will be butthurt responding to this post, cares about anything DC ever did before 1980. This is evidenced by "top 10 spider-man stories" clickbait articles always featuring Spider-Man No More and If This Be My Destiny, while those same clickbait articles for Batman are exclusively post-crisis and beyond stories.

I like the dialogue better in the new version, although the giant ants is a funnier trick.

I thought this was a good idea. Instead of trying to reboot old stories, just update older ones. Too bad its early 2000's muddy digital art.

Terrifying to think of them doing that in the 2020s

I'm looking for a marvel nerd to answer a question for me because I can't find the answer online.

Did the phoenix force create nemesis? Or what did the start of reality look like. Before there was anything there was the Phoenix Force, the manifestation of the power of life / rebirth that is created between the states of existance of reality. So before there was anything there was Phoenix Force, But the first being in the universe was Nemesis, and the suicide of Nemesis created reality / physical matter and the 7 infinity stones.
    Where did Nemesis come from?

Lots of characters existed before existance, Knull being one of them. I belive Galactus is the last survivor from the previous universe and helped spawn the current one.

it seems like Galactus was from the previous reality but when reality ended that created the Phoenix Force which created the new reality, Galactus was just able to exist throughout the process. That doesn't explain why Nemesis wasn't able to see or communicate with Galactus in the beginning. Nemesis was all alone which lead to them killing themselves which created mass and the infinity stones.

I actually own some of those. I guess they were fine for a time you didn't have internet but wanted to get into older stories. The art could've been better, of course.
