i went to a giant high school where sports paid all the bills so most of the teachers were just coaches from the teams pantomiming their way thru the syllabus. i did have one good history teacher that was kinda crazy, and a math teacher who actually connected with the kids. most of the rest were just going thru the motions

My very first day of college, my very first class, Psych 101, this was 2008 I think. Boomer professor with big plastic round glasses. He gave a whole lecture about how we're in college now and have to start thinking outside the box. His first example was about how everyone is afraid to drive next to semi trucks on the highway, but he isn't because when you think outside the box, the semi would actually protect you from an accident. I said that driving next to a semi is dangerous because they have less visibility and can't see you, but he just acted like I was moronic the entire semester because of it. I went to college early so I was barely about to turn 17, I wish I had been a little older and able to articulate myself better and more assertively because I still think it's idiotic to think so outside of the box that you forego logical conclusions in favor of some bullshit like purposely driving in a person's blind spot.
never had much respect for professors that wanted to dunk on kids right out of high school. the best professors i had didn't care what side of an argument you were on, they just wanted to help you develop your critical thinking.

You're usually not changing the minds of professors, it's literally their job to smell their own farts all day. Even if you do BTFO them, they will get butthurt and target you. That happened to me as a kid, I made my professor look like a fool and he hated me the rest of the year.. Was it worth it? Nope. Just be quiet and pass.
I'm in school now and the number of blatantly pro-zionist israeli professors in my concentration is really galling. The atmosphere is very much "keep your mouth shut if you want s good grade." Going to pay closer attention to whose classes I register for next semester.

Well, that's the advice I would give. It's not worth aggravating them and making yourself a target. You won't gain anything out of it. I had many professors I just totally disagreed with on every level and still do, but I learned how to tolerate it. Think about it from their perspective - they have a whole classroom full of impressionable kids they have complete power over. Hard not to let it go to your head in that situation.
