4 is bad but 5 is another level of bad.
I didn't mind 4. Thoughtbit was on par with 3. 5 is the worst television I have ever seen
5 is like 4 if you took out all of the good writing. Its also really distracting how old and ugly everyone is now
4 wasn't actually as bad as people keep making it out to be. 5 was just a huge steaming pile of shit.
5 makes 4 look like a masterpiece in comparison.
I think the re-edited 4 does help the season a lot more, still not as good as the original 3 seasons, but it's fine enough for a comeback season. 5 genuinely ruins the rest of the show for me.
Gotta disagree here. The re-edit tries really really hard to edit the original format for s4 into the first 3 seasons format, which unfortunately means they dropped some good jokes and also gave away plotlines, like George-Michael being the one dating Rebel. Also, there was an absurd amount of Ron Howard narration to try and explain more of what was happening in the episodes compared to OG season 4. I kid you not, I believe there was an episodes where at least 45% of the episode was just Ron narrating while bits of the show was just playing out.
I guess it was a problem with the casts schedule that made season 4 the way it was, but I thought it's original release was done well enough to work around that issue and still deliver some solid jokes. Also, the Gob and Tobias episodes were easily the funniest ones.
I liked season 4 and it got better on rewatch.
I think in the future an AI/Deepfake version of 5 can fix the biggest issue, which is that the actors look wrong and it's hard to remember what's happening when.
It was worse than 4. There were a handful of funny jokes in both but when I rewatch it I'm going to stop at 3 and not feel bad about it.
