Wow those are some uter shit numbers. My guess is that these films didn't appeal to anyone, and the ones who did want to see it already saw it on D+.

All of these movies have bene out for years and it is already streaming. The ticket numbers were always going to be very low.

This is just Disney filling the void in their schedules with something to keep their name on the radars of cinema-going people.

Please explain how any of that makes sense. How does ONE person seeing a film in a theater per day "keep their name on the radars of cinema-going people." No one went to see Soul and the only people talking about it on the entire internet is Cinemaphile mocking it in threads like this.

LOL. I predict almost identical numbers unless Disney goes all out on advertisement.

Also sidenote: I fully expect there's going to be some shake-up in advertisements coming up. My personal theory is that internet ads are way less effective than people thought (even after realizing they're garbage years ago), so it wouldn't shock me if companies like Disney are spending millions on internet ads that are seen by no one and convince no one to see them. So you get films with a budget of 150 million for production, and 100 million advertisement that gets pissed away.

re-release rarely make money but studios keep doing them anyways during the year.

They typically make SOME money. This literally lost them money. The complete and utter collapse of Disney Box office is one of the biggest unspoken stories so far.

I think we're into some serious cultural change, where many of the big icon studios and media formats are just gonna die.

No, it's usually "x film bombed" and each time it's treated like some anomoly. Disney-Pixar animated films haven't made a profit since 2019, and Marvel films are under-performing except a few like Guardians of the Galaxy 3. There's no across the board discussion, which seems like Disney is just dying at the box office and it seems like some kind of cultural shift is catching up to us.

Kids play Palworld, fortnight, rather than watch disney films now. People who watch films are over the age of 25. NO ONE is talking about this, since it means an entire media format is on its way out demographically.

                analogy

It's not an analogy, kids are excited about video games now not Disney shit. There's a genuine cultural shift in the youngest generations away from tv/film towards social media and video games. Most people who watch films are over 25, which granted, is the vast majority of people, but that means that when the youngest generation grows up and becomes the dominant generation they won't have a film-watching habit.

Paying 8 bucks to sit in a giant empty room and stare at a screen for 2 hours is weird out of context.

Little kids literally have no idea what marvel, Star Wars, or Pixar is. Like no god damn idea. The youngest generation are just not plugged into Disney-shit at all, and the average movie age is over 25 now.

Studios are facing a demographic extinction event as they can't rely upon old people forever, and basically no one is talking about this shift. I think we're right in the midst of it, and after it's done everyone will act like it was super obvious.

            >USA - $56,116,261

Weird, that it made more money in USA than Japan (though japan has half the pop as USA).

Star Wars is never having another movie. Movies are announced for earnings reports and are quietly shelved.

Never is a long time. Disney obviously has no idea what they're doing, are panicking, and have no long term plans and are just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. But eventually some kind of Star Wars film is gonna come out in theaters. It will certainly under-perform, just we're not sure by how much.

Isnt turning red the literal unironic pedo flagwhistle movie

It's not pedo in that it's supposed to be "adults should screw kids". Instead, it's saying that adults are an oppressive force that stand in the way of teen's growing sexuality and the kids should do as they want. It's standard feminist sex-positive claptrap about how opression should be overthrown and they should be narccisitic sociopathic bawds as they want, which is their ideal.

It's daycare feminism, and right wingers were over-reacting. But there's barely an analogy where the Red Panda is a clear metaphor for puberty, menstruation, and puberty induced sex drive. The message is that parents are in the wrong for trying to reign in their daughter's budding sexuality and is in-line with sex positive feminist thinking. It's trying to get them used to it so they can learn more as they get older.

To pretend that there's nothing there, and it's all just some over-reaction of crazies, is a standard leftist tactic. Leftists are some of the most dishonest people in the entire world.

One of Luca's directors (the one who made that short with Alberto) "confirmed" Luca and Alberto as gay by posting doodles of them as a couple. Fujos are known for spending money in useless junk just to "support" their favorite ship even if it isn't canon, so I can see Luca making more money than the other two films.

There was a Cinemaphile poster that said Luca looked like a film made by someone who got molested and liked it. So it being made by Fujos who schlick at the thought of these boys ass fricking each other makes sense.

The complese collapse of Disney is shocking to even me. I figured their cultists would eat up any shit thrown at them. The real test is Star Wars, as they are moving back to theater films in the future, but these films are at least going to dud.

What happens if Star Wars 9 makes 100 million domestic versus a 350 million dollar budget? Solo bombing was portrayed as a fluke that wont' happen again.

The hardcore cultist Disney Adults are cash cows that Disney has been pandering to since they are childless 20-40 somethings with too much cash and too much time on their hands, but proportionately normies and conservatives are their main demographic. Normies tuned out because Disney got lame and aren't events anymore. Normies are the most fickle group ever, and hold no strong political positions and don't think deeply about anything. They're like someone with ADHD. Conservatives are Catholics, Evangelicals, Protestants, immigrants, and they want wholesome "family" films like Disney used to make. They alienated them.
