No... they hated it because it's just a carbon copy of the first movie but done much worse. Elastigirl actually using her powers more was actually the only plus the movie got going for it.
They gave the characters these weird facial details that make them look completely different from the first movie
before seeing it I assumed it was because they'd aged significantly or something but it takes place directly after the first movie
Frozen and its sequel did the exact same thing, giving bags under the characters eyes for some reason
they've gotten better at rendering realistic flesh. but, you know how the first film had somewhat simpler and more surreal look? the characters looked more like those idealized art-deco statues, which made it much more interesting.

Disney had been dying fro some time by the time incredibles shipped. Incredibles 2 was right on the edge of when Disney completely went to shit, a process sthat started as far back as 2016. When you step back and consider that Disney is a global family and childrens entertainment corporation is absolutely incredible how utterly moronic they were to release a live action beauty and the beast film that promoted homosexuality to kids. That and last jedi marks the moment they finally jumped off a cliff having pandered to black racists in America with black panther

In any case it's significantly worse than the first movie. And there isn't even one exact thing you can point to, the whole movie just feels like they put 50% less effort into it. Almost every scene in the original Incredibles is very well-thought out, clever, expressive, conveys a lot of important information while feeling effortless. 2 is not like that, the writing is much less elegant, there's less going on scene to scene, it's paced worse, etc. You can also point to more specific problems like the much worse villain and Bob's questionable characterization but they are just surface-level issues.
They had to cut off a year of development time because it swapped release dates with Toy Story 4, and it shows. I also think Brad Bird's insistence on not aging up the characters bit him in the ass, because there was less for the characters to do, they're still in the same position they were in the last movie.
