One of the best movies of the year. Shitty critics were ordered to write negative reviews as the movie (correctly) ignores ESG "guidelines"
what do you mean by ESG?
NTA but these are "recommendations" by shitty investment companies that movies feature colored/gay/troony/women characters in "positions of power", present "socially conscious" themes and other bullshit. Reptile is pure storytelling without any of that burdensome propaganda
since when is Netflix making movies that "ignore ESG guidelines"
Rarely but that is one such case. In fact, a certain character is literally the opposite of woke expectations
because it's just a benicio del toro/justin timberlake vanity project, the idea didn't actually came from the belly of netflix
I don't like Lizards
I like it. Did Judy know and who killed Eli?
I love nature films.
so who was the reptile? timberlake's mom? i don't get it
Seems like some sort of hamfisted metaphor for the real estate agent and the good cop being surrounded by snakes
Tattoo on woman's back
Scene with wax being removed off a hand (snake skin)
and the shed snake skin in the house where she was murdered
Reptiles use high tech kitchen faucets
Good catch, I missed that.
The reptiles were every single character that was leading a double life. Cops who are criminals. Prominent business men who were the same and the Benicio Del Toro character who shed his skin as a corrupt cop to become an honest man. Reptile was probably a reference to camouflage and shedding of skin
>N
im guessing you just have shit taste
it barked and benicio is goated. critic-cucks didnt get it, simple as.
I liked it.
it was just a fincher wannabe movie for moms. the detective was shit at his job.
Being this filtered sounds almost indistinguishable from moronation
when the car got into the accident it was found full of drugs, the police couldnt look deeper on that? the heroine with the tape was right there in the car. how did that not blow the case wide open?
The answer is made clear by what a certain charactee finds out. The movie doesn't really hold out until the end to pull a deux ex-machina, it shows the culprit around 40 minutes before it ends and the final act us carefully solving the puzzle
Does it show the culprit though? Are you implying it was the agent?
>how did that not blow the case wide open?
it did you dumb frick
I really enjoyed it. Sure, the plot was pretty simple simon but what the director did with it was pure kino. The way he made just mundane nothings very suspenseful was quite impressive. He is someone that is definitely on my radar for the future to look for
>Music video guy
Could really go both ways tbh
Me and my friend both enjoyed it. I haven't liked a new movie in awhile. Michael Pitt should be in more movies
I liked the black cop partner. I'd rather see guys like that in movies instead of Boyega/Denzels kid/Michael B Jordan shoehorned in everything
>misidentified the car
>was partnered and taught by Herc the corrupt cop
>chastises Tom for doing dental investigation
>gun "stolen" by ex-boyfriend
He was in on the scheme right?
i think he was just incompetent/new
Certainly sounds like it.
I think he killed Eli. In Eli’s apartment in the scene with JT the man appears behind Eli and JT is like “oh you know eachother?” Well it wasn’t BTD so the only other person we saw meet Eli was the black cop.
did the explain bruises on victim's hand? paint in a church? cop with lipstick?
Critics hates it because it had no agenda and only one black person who was a minor incompetent character.
