I saw it as a kid in theaters when it came out and I don't get it either. It's awful. It has more momentum in its story than the other two prequels but that's also what gets it into trouble. It looks moderately better than AOTC, I guess.

revenge of the sith had shit dialogue and all the padme parts were complete dogshit (i blame portman) but overall the themes were kino and the aesthetics were top kino. the original 3 movies had better dialogue and smoother stories but they were bland and boring.
Ep 3 redeemed Lucas and then he made Red Tails, quit directing, and sold Star Wars out of shame.
