Why? What kind of moron logic is that? People are gonna be MAD that it's good? What? have a nice day. The only thing worth seething about is you smugfrick miles fans. Not that anon, but aww, Sweet! A Schizo Thread! Into the inclusiverse was the gayest animated movie of the 2010s. Why would the sequel that admits it supports trans ""'rights""' be any better?

                Trans is a mental illness.
They should be getting support to accept the body they have. Instead of chopping off their bits and being slaves to Big Pharma.

"Slaves to big pharma" is a facile argument designed to redirect legitimate anticapitalist fervor into transphobia. Dismantling capitalist power structures and eliminating big pharma would enable trans people to get the medical care they need, which may or may not include hormones and/or surgery. Piggybacking transphobia onto anticapitalism is never going to work no matter how much you try to force it.

Either way, once you have surgery, you'll need to be on drugs for the rest of your life. Doesn't matter if you pay for it yourself or get it from the government, it's all the same.
If anything, it's "people" like you who're stopping socialized medicine from being a thing. By wanting to waste it on frivolous, unnecessary surgery and drugs when you should just learn to accept the body you're in.

It's pathetic and has way more to do with politics. People just hear there is a Spiderman movie and the main character isn't white and bam, instant seethe. Their judgement is clouded by hate and even if the movie is good they fool themselves into thinking the movie was bad.

I think people are just tired of selling popular characters as “the right color” rather than just coming up with good original stories or characters. Spiderverse let Hollywood know about the multiverse an entire concept devoid of creativity and soul there to let empty suits realize that homies like you don’t NEED good stories or modality, you just need to be fed the same shit with a different coat of paint.

People hate miles because they s read miles, that’s it the writer was an butthole and his concept was both destructive to the brand AND hilariously racist, but you eat it up because “it owns the chuds”. gays like you are why we DESERVE this horrific sightless world we live in

Why not push for them to make new or simpler yet, USE existing black characters? Frick half of this movie is shitting in empty iconography of a white character so a black characte mr can “look good” by teaching shitty morals in this empty story just like the first movie

How wasn’t it anon? Spider-man was unique in his genre by being a character based on growth of story, how does trivializing that story by reducing him to being nothing but a PART of some green lantern corp bullshit respect that? And how does shitting on a massive part of his story by focusing on gwen being paired with miles and how he’s better than peter because he saves her respecting that story? Face it anon you’re just a b***h who enjoys bendis to suc so could you just do that on Reddit or Twitter or anywhere else? Why the hell should the audience of a popular character accept that he gets replaced with supposedly another character that is in reality the same one except with a different skin tone? People watch Dragon Ball for Goku, not my OC Joeku who is like Goku in every way except the interesting ones, and also he is white. There is literally no situation in which they should accept seeing Joeku instead of Goku in DB media, let alone pay for it and give me recognition, what an insane approach to art.

I own my “mask” and I own my perspective, you just latch onto the propaganda of the day and collapse when someone points that out. I’ve tried for a DECADE to accept a character whose creator NEEDS me to hate to satisfy his (and your) world view. It’s not MY fault that this movie codified EVERYTHING wrong with him and Hollywood at the moment. Why are you so gleeful at these multinational conglomerates pushing your view and this petty divide for “profit”? And do you really have no capability in questioning WHY your views so thoroughly line up with there’s?

It’s actually been pushed to this point, and this isn’t just trolls anymore. I think this is the effort disney is making to tank the franchise in the same way they tanked x-men and FF to hurt fox. They don’t like sharing with Sony and will push as great a divide they can. Sony shitting on peter in spiderverse is just a part of the propaganda though.

Though I would hope that you’d get at least SOME people to just hate all the clout this shit gave bendis to ruin what he ruined at DC. But I don’t think people can have honest conversations about this since the bulk of this is just bait and “lol didn’t read”

Frick off. Miles Morales only exists as Bendis' symbolic middle finger to the original white Spider-Man. He only exists to replace Ultimate Spider-Man after they killed him off. He's never been popular. No one bought the shitty movie game & the Spiderverse movie was nowhere near as successful as the media claimed. The sequel's already pushing interracial propaganda + pedophilia. We'll never accept your communist agitprop disguised as "moral values."

                Define them

                Anonymous

"Diversity" refers to when media accurately depicts a broad swath of people instead of focusing on a specific kind of person.
"Propaganda" refers to media designed to subtly advertise a specific ideological messaging.
While it is true propaganda can obviously be diverse, and that diversity can potentially be in the service of propaganda, such as the CIA producing recruitment videos containing people of color and promoting the CIA as 'inclusive', that doesn't mean making content diverse is inherently propaganda, unless your perspective is that that media should only contain one specific kind of person, and that is a deeply immoral belief tied into conservative, supremacist values.

                Anonymous

Diversity is political, promoting political causes in media is propaganda. You can have diversity without believing it absolutely needs to be in everything and forcing it where it doesn't belong, but that's not what Spider-Verse did.

No, that's just a strawman your ego produced to protect you from dealing with the fact you're wrong. Having a Peter and Prowler adventure would've been an organic way to have diversity in a Spider-Man movie, what Spider-Verse did instead was focus the movie on the character invented to celebrate Obama's election i.e. an inherently political issue.

                >what possible reason would they have to want to put the focus on a character with absolutely no narrative merit
You do realise they did give a reason for picking miles over Peter right? It was because of Miles’ family dynamic. You know something Peter doesn’t have?

                >"Well, to me, it sort of all circles around to his family. He has a very different family than Peter Parker did," Lord confessed. "First of all, both of his parents are alive, so that's a huge difference right there. And being able to portray a very grounded family with a mother and father who both want the best for their son, but go about it in different ways. Also an uncle that loves him, but is encouraging him to go down a different path. That whole dynamic is really the center of what the whole movie's about, and it was really important to us to get right. And it really speaks to Miles trying to figure out who he is and who he's gonna be, what kind of a person he's going to become."

So shit that was completely unutilized, no one cared about, barely present in the comics, and that minimizes the tragedy and relatability of Spider-Man? Why not make it about Miles and his family then instead of the multiverse.

Trans children don't exist, it's a delusional ploy to get literally underdeveloped brains into sexual-themed fetish concepts before they get a chance to develop natural sense of identity
Boys shouldn't crossdress and call themselves girls because it will impair their social development. Same with girls. (Puberty literally affects them differently)
Kids shouldn't be able to consent to medication (which we don't know the long-term effects of) or life-changing surgeries

Kids are literally incapable of understanding what a woman or a man is. It takes life experience to understand these concepts beyond a surface level.

They sorta do exist but true gender dysphoria is 1. Incredibly rare and 2. Most kids grow out of it by the time they reach adolescence. This current “Trans kids” push is literally just gaslighting children into thinking they’re trans because they’re naive and are easily malleable

Because they have a chip on their shoulder about the fact that their transition is them indulging a mental condition. Gotta get kids on it to prove to the world that "actualy, it's natural"

This is just what I’ve heard and read from different accounts of people who were diagnosed with gender dysphoria before the big trans push, including conservative trans e-celebs like Buck Angel and Blaire White who are vehemently against current trans narratives. But regardless I don’t want kids and teens to undergo medical transitioning whether they actually have gender dysphoria or not. I believe that the treatment should revolve more around mental care rather than physical care since changing your body to be the opposite sex is and always will be a physical impossibility so learning to accept who you were born as seems to be a healthier approach mentally, emotionally, physically, socially, and economically.

i'm too nervous to pick a side, i'm not an outrage gay but i also don't care for Morales all that much, it's probably gonna get like a 95% even if it was bad

i liked the first movie quite a lot, i've watched it two times and i really liked that Peter B got back with his version MJ and stopped being a gay and put a baby in her, but if i'm being 100% honest they went way too far with the low frame rate animation, that spider verse headquarters in the trailers looks fricking absurd, the idea of all the spider men having diffrent artstyles sounds cool on paper but it looks extremely ugly, like having the PS4 spider man be an actual 3D PS4 render just looks moronic imo, and also the trans flag thingy and raceswapped 7 month pregnant Jessica Drew is cringe but i don't really care about that

i think the story is gonna be sorta obvious, The Spot is gonna be some secret multiversal threat but appear as a harmless c tier villan and all the spider men trying to capture Miles are gonna be proven wrong some how after chasing him the whole movie and join forces to beat the big bad, but hey idk it could be good like the first one i just think the animation looks like shit at certain points

Isn't it kind of toxic to imply the male character is entitled to the girl just because he's into her? Wouldn't the "respect other people's boundaries" message be more progressive? She even tells him she doesn't want to do it in the sequel because she's scared for her life and he keeps pushing her into it anyway, that's not very progressive, what sort of message does that send.

I don't think it's "forced" but I didn't think it was necessary either. I do feel like the progressive angle was a factor as to why it's happening, though. In the first movie their relationship as friends was so refreshing, why reverse that?

                Hollywood/Exec meddling.
eitherway I don't mind how their relationship shakes up.

what I would personally have preferred is that they split up by the third movie and miles got a girlfriend from his universe like tiana toomes or barbra rodriguez. I don't know how gwen and mile's relationship would even function long term since they literally don't live in the same universe.

Unfortunately, yes, I like the first movie, but I like it in spite of Miles not really having much of a personality. But I chalk that up in-universe to him being young and not particularly well-defined yet, and metacontextually as the studio trying to make him as inoffensive and broadly appealing as possible.

The term diversity is incredibly dishonest, when it comes to shows and movies, the term demographic marketing should be used instead. A tv show or movie has a finite amount of characters, the question should be what demographics does it market too? The term diverse is an attempt to trick people who want to be seen as virtuous.

My hope for it is that it'll be a 'can't save everyone' ending, with the ultimate moral lesson that you still have to try. I think it'd be a good step to take it, and based on the trailers the conflict will be based around that.
What I fear is it'll be where every other spider man is just playing it safe with deciding who to save, and Miles is the best spider man that he can save everybody.
What was great about the first one was that Miles wasn't a better spider man, he was just another spider man belonging to his own world.

      Anonymous

He was more like someone living up to the mantle of a spiderman by doing it his own way.

Which is a great subversion of how he was portrayed up to that point. As in a spiderman meant to fill in the role left by peter rather than being his own hero.

        Anonymous

        >doing it his own way

Superior and Fake Red are examples of what you claim Miles does (but doesn't)

        Anonymous

Doing things his own way is something that every spider man needs to do, which is why that 'training' doesn't work. It's why so much emphasis is put on 'The one and only Spider man', because each spider man is different, and each is the one and only spider man. In being his own hero, he becomes Spider man, but not a better Spider man, just his own.
I don't want the movie to throw that out the window and make it "Miles is such a good spider man he was able to do what no other spider man could! He's the best!"
It'd be better as a "Because he's one of the newest Spider Man, he still tries because he doesn't know it can't happen." Let him be remind The spider men that you still have to try, even if you don't succeed.

The sheer number of you Discord trannies and Redditoids constantly shilling this film for free is frankly sad.
This film will probably do well, it won't beat out the first one, but it will be profitable. Beyond that, like Miles himself, it will be viewed as a mediocre piece of media that will be forgotten in a year.
Of course, I'm sure you cum guzzling homosexuals will eat the cherry picked stats and corporate hype like it was your own shit. You'll spend a few weeks after release spamming countless bait threads to try and desperately generate some minor interest in hate watching this film. You'll all but jerk off in our faces and demand we treat this nothing film like a master piece just so you can get your rocks off to a few dozen views. You'll probably succeed, but it won't last.
Eventually, no amount of bait will entice enough posts to keep your low effort threads alive. You'll either have to move on to the next outrage du jour, or finally admit that we were right and the film was not worth the effort you put into it. I'm sure there will be many in the former category, you all love corporate wiener more than anything in the world, but I hope that at least a few of you in the later will have the courtesy to make yourselves more useful on our side.

I was excited for the fist one, but it turned out meh, the best part was miles and peter interactions, and the ending was bad with that whole powerup thanks to believing in himself, i have seen some trailers and this time the main guys are miles and gwen, peter is just an extra, so they already took the best part of the first one away, gwen and miles chemistry doesn't compare at all to mentor/student, it doesn't help that she was almost at the same level as noir or penny, so i don't really care to go and watch it, and also conceptually the whole gwen/miles stuff is weird, giving him the ex gf of peter from another dimension? And is not a case like white nick fury and black nick fury, as we still get stories involving peter/gwen, is not something of the past, but then again, the whole gwenverse was stupid
