She’s not a dyke, she’s a spicy straight. A heterosexual woman that wants to be included in the “queer” community so they pretend to be bisexual/pansexual but date men. Tami Malek’s new GF is the same.
Ahh yes I saw her. They clearly want to get on the bandwagon because they're deranged a bit and it gives them brownie points but still like men.
You guys. It's a question of gender expression, not sexuality. Society has very strict but artificial expectations of how men and women should act. "Queers" are people who are uncomfortable with this gender normativity and choose not to conform. It's only incidental that they also tend to be bisexual, because that can happen when you identify with both genders. But it is in no way a requirement and doesn't make someone a fake queer if their relationships are hererosexual.
I’m going to have to push back on this hard, this is what is confuses teenage girls that are interested in typical boys hobbies and vice versa. They are just boys and girls that enjoy masculine/feminine things. Queer was originally used in a derogatory manor for homosexual men, they then took back the label by calling themselves queer too. Which was extended to lesbians eventually. People see the community that they have and want to be included in it too. Which is now why queer means whatever the frick they want it to mean.
Gender expression = / = liking to play with army men
See how in this image she isn't fulfilling society's expectations of femininity? This is an example of queer gender expression. It goes beyond just having tom boy hobbies. But it goes deeper than just the surface expression too. It's about a dysphoria that makes you fundamentally incapable of conforming to the gender identity you were born with. You fundamentally cannot be the pretty prissy princess the other girls are, because these artificial gender expectations sometimes come into conflict with a person's natural dimorphism. Emma Corrin and Emma D'Arcy would be miserable if they were forced to be something they're not. So they decided they won't be.

I really really hope you are not a woman, genuinely. Just because you don’t fit the stereotype of a beautiful Bond girl (which the majority of women don’t) doesn’t mean you are “masculine”. You have self esteem issues with living up to the idealised version of a woman, which we all do from the dawn of time. Next you will be taking testosterone to feel more masculine and get uterine cancer.
Queer being used to refer to gay people is pretty recent in terms of the word’s history. Today it is used much the way alt was used in the 90s i.e. non-conforming to widely accepted categories
it's when Daemon takes her out on the town, they stroll through a marketplace full of things and the seer lady calls to Rhaenyar with these words, then it suddenly cuts to the dragon head. neat little detail for the knowers
the collar look is so bad. they really don't know how to make woman look cool or hot. sad. it's a fantasy show, make people hot and cool. trying to get some escapism not a HR pov
Reminder that Rhaenyra's downfall due to her shitty tax policy is the climax of George's autism over Aragorn's tax policy.
>doubled the taxes on wine/oil >tripled the fees to take port in KL >introduced a tax on owning a shop in KL >innkeepers taxed 1 stag for each bed in their inn >entry and exit fees into KL were brought back and tripled >introduced a property tax >The Velaryon fleet cut merchant and trader ships from leaving KL, forcing them to pay more taxes for staying when they weren't allowed to leave. Refusal would result in having your ships and cargo seized. >in further need of coin, Rhaenyra started holding public executions in the dragonpits where she'd feed traitors, rebels, and murderers to her dragons. Anyone could pay for entry into the dragonpits to watch.
If this shit is cut from the show, GRRM's main criticism of Tolkien is permanently tarnished.
P*triarchal organisations such as the m*esters LIED about her to erase the FACT that she did nothing wrong.

I blame GRRM and brainlet readers for this, because he thought that ambiguity consisted of a Maester writing histories by quoting 329573958 conflicting sources without properly sifting through them, especially since one of them was a court fool's "testimony" which downright contradicted other statements, and said brainlet readers ate it up.

He did it out of laziness, and probably didn’t remember what he had wrote about the dance throughout the other books. Having multiple accounts of it made is easier to quickly write the book in time for HBO to make house of the dragon.

Did HBO commission F&B or was it just GRRM trying to avoid writing Winds? Because it read like a horribly written and retconned patchjob with shockingly few moments of good old GRRM.

Pretty sure it was commissioned, or at least in his contract to be a part of production for Hotd that he had to write and release it. I don’t know how he is going to get around Dunk and Egg if that’s the case, but I’m sure they will only adapt the 3 books anyway. Or even only the first. As there are 3 animated asoiaf projects being made too that he’s bound to be a part of. Safe to safe winds will never be released.

Thanks, that would explain a lot of things. I personally don't even care about Winds anymore, in fact given the quality of GRRM's latest writings, I'd rather it didn't come out at all.

I don’t think he’s ever going to live up to peoples expectations, but it’s a shame he doesn’t have to balls to end it the way he wants to nearing the end of his life. But he cares too much about what people think to do so.
So how are they going to have her lose in the show? They are dead set on her being the good guy that there is no way she should lose.
In the book she effectively turns everyone against her because she's a paranoid tyrant and has to flee KL and falls into Aegon's trap. How is this supposed to happen if everybody loves her.
Are they going to have the evil men on her council sneak around and plot to have her overthrown for literally no reason?
They can't be stupid enough to just have her turn crazy at the end because the plot demands it. Did they not learn that lesson with S8 and Dany?
>Are they going to have the evil men on her council sneak around and plot to have her overthrown for literally no reason?
Yes. Maybe it can all be instrumented by Corlys who's mad he lost his wife and children because of Rhaenyra/Daemon.
I don't think so - first episode's intro ties to Dany (17something years prior to her blah-blah) so I think that it will be standard yaaaaas qweeeen slaaaaaaayy with sudden madness (she's still cool girl boss, though) in last 5 minutes.
Also they could probably make a parallel to her mother's death where "evil stupid men kill her" in a way.
Wish I wasn't team one eyed zoomer with granny dragon since I already know that he dies in anime fight.
Gurm doesn’t even fully lay this at her feet. he uses, “le evil Lannister drained the treasury coz incel” trope.
in the show they’ll double down on this and make the taxes look like not “really” her idea or desire, while putting major focus on the Lannister betrayal.
cements her as thematically aligned with Starks in the minds of the audience and gives a callback for YouTube commenters to smugly observe in rhaenyra fan videos.

That "incel" Lannister serves her son faithfully as his Hand until he dies of disease and is remembered fondly.
considering half her scenes are her leaking abortions everywhere and killing babies and giving birth to demons and birth killing her mother and women being mistreated while giving birth and life-giving being a curse im pretty sure she's more fricked up than ever
right and their depiction of her giving birth to one of them was her walking around leaking afterbirth all over the place while her gay husband held her hand
Also, for now :^)
well considering my point is that they depict giving birth as disgusting and horrible because they are anti-natalist, your point was she has children in the show, so I'd say it has fricking everything to do with it you dumb frick?
weird take.
they show her handling birth better than almost any other character, by your own words she’s up and about not long after.
then, they show her (1) miscarriage as a horrible tragedy and change the only part of the scene from the book that would make her look remotely callous to the loss.
In addition, they show her very happy having had her kids, and the catalyst for war is… her rage at her son being killed.
the show is full of anti-natalism for sure, but she’s a weird exception, especially since they seemed to be setting her up to reject motherhood after seeing what happened to her mother.
just a bizarre take. Almost as if you didn’t watch the show and are just playing telephone with shitposts you’ve seen in these threads.
I think so, I think it would be extremely confusing otherwise to a casual audience. he's a footgay so probably incredibly creepily and without shame

HBO should have used a foot model to stand in. Those feet are not worth killing people over.
It’s not the feet themselves, but that THE QUEEN is debasing herself for you
Do you think playing a loving mother in this show for a few years will make the actress sane again?

good evening I hate Rhaenyra and The Blacks
Blood and Cheese is the big test for me, especially if it's in episode 1 as leaks suggest. If they frick it up in any way I'm losing all hope.
cute but the younger actress is even cuter
I hate what they did to Baela. I will never forgive HBO.
Why did they make her cute instead of fat and past it as an adult?
Season 3 has started pre production.
Good. Maybe we won’t have to wait until 2026 for it.
Normalizing taking an entire year off for production is one of the worst things the late-GOT/early-Westworld era of HBO left behind.
sure thing buddy! because rushing it was clearly the best decision after all, right?
maybe you’ll get that 10-minute Aemond full frontal in s3, femanon.
Already had that in High Life anon.
but he wasn’t wearing the eyepatch, wig, or backlit by fire.
True, but it’s the actor for me not Aemond himself. Although he’s definitely still an interesting character and I’d always been team green.
They're so good at playing a woman it's unreal. Really believable.
Rhaenyra the Cute
So........ Velaryons were made black to make the cucking part more obvious?
I think so, I think it would be extremely confusing otherwise to a casual audience. This way having the bastards with brown hair and the Velaryons being black you can make a visual distinction between the blacks and greens. Other than Daemon and Rhaenyra of course, but they are main characters not smaller ones. And non bookgays already have trouble with the names as it is.

Definitely. He's a murderous butthole who's still loyal to his brother in the books while in the show he studied the blade and thinks he should be king.
I think they are just fleshing out his character a little more, it wouldn’t be believable if he was insane from day 1. But the incompetence he will feel of being tricked by Daemon and losing KL Will believably push him there. Although Luke’s death is still up in the air (haha) of being an accident or not. Ewan danced around the question for “spoilers”. I think it was an accident though but he’ll play it off that it was deliberate, to not look like he’s not in control of Vhagar.
They're making Aemond less of an irredeemable psychopath so gurms obvious favouritism of the blacks isn't as obvious
It’s the crazy eye for me, can’t wait to see his performance when Aemond is genuinely insane after he loses kings landing.
