At least based off what we know from the Cold Opening I see three likely ways this will go;
1) Summer either intentionally or accidentally ends up sliding too many points off her intelligence and goes full caveman*
2) Summer somehow damages the device and it malfunctioning is sliding her attributes all over the place for comedy and/or horror
3) Morty does end up getting an Attribute Slider of his own(or steals Summer's) and we get some sci-fi sibling rivalry shenanigans
*this one is a bit cliche for a Muscle Growth scenario(especially in Western Animation) but obscure enough of a cliche that I could see it being played relatively straight even in a show like Rick and Morty
4) muscular Summer fricks every nerd and beta at school
I'm betting we get 3 that turns into a 1 scenario
they both frick up their attribute slider and now they have polar opposite attributes and have to work together against this episodes antagonist

The writers fumbled a line really really hard. They were trying to say that Morty was like a dog (in a good way) that he loves you just because you’re there for him. Summer is more cat-like, where you have to earn her respect, and that’s cool too.
What it came across as is Rick saw Morty like a pet more than his grandson, which is just terrible.

It’s a bad line. While normally true for Morty and Summer, Summer is shown to adore Rick to the point of unreasonablenesses. Rick doesn’t treat her as well as he does Morty. I bet it sounded smart in their head but they’re way off base for all characters involved.
They were trying to tie into the theme of the episode, that Summer shouldn’t need to beg like a dog and do tricks for approval, that sometimes demanding respect from others is how you get it.
They just didn’t do a good job with the moment, rushing to make the connection between her and Diane.

It’s been a rough patch for Summer. Not gonna lie, I was worried this might happen when I checked out the writer before the episode aired. I was excited to see her in action, but, this is about what I should have expected.
Her being cute, not hot, is in line with what I know about her, but the looseness she shows towards who she’s chasing and non sci-fi influenced bisexuality isn’t what she’s been shown to be. I still love her, but it’s sad to see her written so carelessly, and not even for the sake of a good episode.

The artstyle isn’t the issue, and once again, Summer being a canon 6 (slightly above average, not remarkably so) feels right to me. Its her declining characterization that I’m disappointed in.

Oof… yeah, can’t say I was a fan of this one. Rough first swing from a new writer.
Serious character assassination going on this episode. Morty was treated to his worst characterization… ever. Not only does it spit in the face of his growth, he’s completely infantilized, regressed beyond even the pilot, and then his voice is stolen, essentially writing him out of half the episode. Summer is oddly portrayed as only looking for hookups, which goes against her consistent search for greater connection in romantic relationships (Ethan, Hemorrhage) and otherwise (Rick, her mom). Her resolution to seeking this vapid affection by cheating her attributes is… to receive it anyway from a non-character in a strange display of bisexual one-upmanship? Worst of all is Rick, who, after finally growing to the best relationship with Morty he’s had in years, likens what they have to him owning a dog, throwing away years of development in an instant.
Beyond the bad characterization, the episode is a showcase of the show’s worst tendencies towards humor. Wooden, on the nose, placeholder dialogue from incidental characters, leaning into bits past the point where it ‘s funny, and an over-reliance on a pop culture reference. Like “Summer does a Die Hard”, a large chunk of this episode had to do with the characters shouting out that the show is referencing something, to the point that Morty is reduced to just a movie quote.
The episode’s resolution feels unearned. Morty goes from out of character to in character, which really takes the wind out of the sails of “not feeling like a parasite” (besides, it’s awful and out of character that Rick and Summer, and the show, feel that way about him in the first place). As said before, Summer doesn’t really grow either, her appreciation for her brother is iffy because it doesn’t relate to why he was bothersome earlier in the first place, and her answer to Jimmy was to just do the same thing with a woman because… she can? I get that Morty being cheered on by the classmates was supposed to show that the true recognition Summer wanted wasn’t going to come from her appearance or physical ability, but from being present and fun to be around… but it just falls flat in execution. It’s episodes like these and Hugh Jackman that make me worry for the show. Without B-plots, you really have to make sure your lead story is rock solid to land it. On top of that, Summer is underutilized, when she’s used, I want to see her shine better than this. It feels like a waste otherwise.
Anyway, on the plus side, the art team absolutely NAILED the episode, and it was nice to see Tricia, Nancy and Brad get some use. Hopefully the lesbo writer doesn’t stick around for long, or improves dramatically (lest we have have a new Rutherford situation going on).

As much as I love the early episodes, this is actually my biggest flaw with them. No, pop culture has always been in the DNA of the show. I wish it was more nuanced, that they could still tell better jokes than WE’RE REFERENCING THIS THING, but the references themselves are not new.
What made this episode sting even worse was that the attribute slider was more interesting than a Quatto. I was actually excited for where it was headed.

Something I've noticed this season is that there's been zero B-plots in any of the episodes.
There are different tiers of badness. This episode was on the Raising Gazopazorp tier, not a Nick Rutherford barrel-bottom.

Reasonable. I kinda liked the voice over gimmick but otherwise pretty bland. If you’re gonna pay tribute to anime you shouldn’t do it like that, just makes you feel like a poser.
It was the most basic anime gags

This is like the Die hard episode without the Roy plot to carry it.
Its one of the worst episodes for sure but not as bad as the sperm one.

Not only is this dialogue completely unnecessary, it reduces rick to a passive commentator
