So
>That Jerry got Frundled even after he rekindled with Beth and got told that he was a great dad by Morty.
is wrong too. Frundled Jerry is the one who DIDN'T have any growth or deal with a divorce.
I am really sick of the millennial basedboy obsession with Cthulhu. Call of Cthulhu isn't even remotely the most interesting Lovecraft story. Read literally any of his other short stories. They're a 100 times better and more interesting, you dorky twats.
Can't wait for a whole episode about a sexist leader that Beth and "badass sci-fi space beth" take down after being forced to deal with their oppressive sexist society.
You know that's what this is.
Justin's other show did the same. This is such a pointless gesture since Rick and Morty will still have to credit both its creators regardless. If anything, this calls MORE attention to the show's controversy since it sticks out so much.
Justin's other show did the same. This is such a pointless gesture since Rick and Morty will still have to credit both its creators regardless. If anything, this calls MORE attention to the show's controversy since it sticks out so much.
that's not how credits work
the old credit here was a "Created by" for Harmon & Roiland jointly
but
that was with the "&" qualifier as in, they were writing as a team when they wrote the document that got them the "Created by" credit (as explained in the WGA Separation of Rights manual, because this is how it works for everyone)
since they're no longer a team after Roiland quit (he did in fact quit) and the show has been retooled, they're not automatically entitled to the "Created by" titlecard any more under the MBA (not just for this show but for all shows); what will likely happen is he'll/they'll get a "Developed by" credit buried way below the line, if he gets anything at all ("Developed by" isn't a real credit you can request; the company has to propose it as a consolation prize for losers)
in addition if there's a credit arbitration going through right now, they literally cannot use the old "Created by" here without falling foul of WGA rules (though it has to be said there's a possibility it simply hasn't appeared because there's a fucking strike going on and nobody wants to even look like they scabbed, dumbass); but a credit arbitration only needs a “a change or additional element that contributes ‘significantly’ to the series’ distinctiveness or viability.” to succeed - in this case, since the show would have gone off-air if he'd stayed because nobody wants to work with the cunt, it's open-shut that he no longer gets his "Created by"; the whole point of making a public statement that you no longer tolerate his bullshit after 10 years of his bullshit is that you're making a significant change to the show
tl;dr did you think this was the first time this issue came up
You seem well-read on all this mumbo jumbo. How do you interpret the new credits formatting for Solar Opposites? Roiland still receives a Co-Creator acknowledgement, albeit buried in the actual episodes like you mentioned.
>Roiland quit (he did in fact quit)
Reading the official statement and the reporting, it's hard to definitively say he quit. But for the sake of discussion let's say he did in fact quit and they didn't lay him off or fire him.
Exactly how would they convince him to quit? Presumably when you quit you cannot claim employment insurance or numerous other things if they had laid him off. Like in Roiland's position wouldn't he insist to be laid off in order to collect a severance? If he quits he gets no severance. Like if you were Adult Swim, any leverage you have on the guy is already gone - all the allegations about how awful he was (presumably recorded in HR reports) was already in the media so you can't threaten him to leave with exposing shit everyone already knows; the the lawyers in the firm would know that the legal charges against him basically had no chance of winning. And while creepy fucking texts to minors and fucking borderline jailbait is despicable to the extreme I'm not entirely sure you can terminate someone's position for that. I don't see any way to actually force his hand to quit and thus the best way would be to lay him off with a severance package right?
Getting fired from his job doesn't mean he loses his royalties. The royalties are like owning a piece of a restaurant. He got fired as a chef but he still owns part of the restaurant. He won't lose his royalties until he sells them or gives it up. And unless he is deluded to think Rick and Morty won't survive without him I don't think he's going to sell those royalties or cut of the merch or whatever they have negotiated.
You have to remember that the 70-season contract Harmon strangled out of Adult Swim is unfathomably lucrative and Roiland has a piece of that. Without knowing the details that sort of deal sets people up for life.
There could be a termination of royalties clause if the signee does something that breaks it such as destroying IP image due to his own defamation.

I don't know shit about royalties but would Roiland (or Harmon) really let Adult Swim put that clause in the contract? Like at that point Roiland had already been kicked out of the writing room for like three seasons.
There's zero chance these people would go into negotiations without a lawyer, and any lawyer who works in Hollywood would go through a checklist of "shit that would terminate your royalties" right? And whatever the fuck Roiland had done, which we had known by then, he would have shared with the lawyer and it wouldn't have been grounds for termination. Like on paper none of what Roiland had done on record with HR terminated his ass so he's clear there.
Sure, IF he got convicted on felony charges for wife beating that'd be grounds. But he didn't. So HR documentation wasn't enough to fire him; and the charges were dropped; I would imagine that his meal ticket hasn't been cancelled either. Because if it had, he'd be fucking suing the shit out of everyone.

The fact that we havent any lawsuits from him is likely the confirmation that yeah he still gets roylaties.
Meaning that anyone watching and supporting R&M even without his involvement is still supporting Roiland financially. Just let it die.

More reason for them to wrap this up by Season 10. The show has overstayed its welcome, the writers have openly admitted to dragging out the plot as much as possible, and Roiland still profits off of the brand. End this shit and get literally anyone who worked on it to pitch something new. It really shouldn't be that hard, but Hollywood HATES starting from scratch for some reason.

Not enough Pony. She should appear in every frame.
Because the charges weren't the only bad thing about him that came to light and the other things that did come to light did so via the evidence about them.
Protip: you don't have to do literately illegal things to be seen as a terrible person and business risk.
Let's be completely serious here, I didn't get the anime and only vaguely recall the Van Damme reference but I think neither thing is worth remembering and the fact they're continuing to make shitty fucking references to shit nobody should care about is precisely why this show has become so fucking garbage. Because everything worthy they pay tribute to they fucking mangle in a low-brow Big Bang Theory manner or they just reference shit that isn't worthy at all, like fucking Blood Sport.
New generations shouldn't watch fucking Van Damme action films, not when there's shit like Jet Li or Jackie Chan or just fucking Kill Bill available.
Why are you in this thread to begin with then dumbfuck? Coming into a thread about a show and telling fans of the show to stop "shilling" it is the equivalent of telling someone to fuck off while you're a guest in their home. The show you hate isn't going anywhere anytime soon and the sooner you get over that and accept that the people who like things you don't is simply because their tastes are different rather than them being part of some matrix that you concocted from the self-made prison of narcissism that is your demented mind, the more you'll end up a happier well-adjusted person. Really learn to dial back the autism less you want to end up like the fans of the 2003 adaptation of the Teen Titans, a community that will never live down their reputation as maladjusted genetic dead ends perpetually stuck in their childhoods.
GPP got way too comfortable after the 7 season order, which ironically should have been carte blanche to just do whatever they wanted. Imagine if we got really creative and fun stuff like a musical or a murder mystery episode.
Combination of it becoming too big, gaining a vocally annoying fanbase, getting wrapped up in meta, and having gaps that were too long between seasons.
>and having gaps that were too long between seasons.
Why do they show do this? It'll probably be early 2030's by the time it ends. 10 episodes a season does not justify it.
Because TV production is a fucking joke and nobody knows how to properly manage a production schedule anymore. People will claim it's because shows have more time and effort put into them today than they did back in the early 2000s and prior, but in reality show creators have just gotten used to the freedom they get with streaming series orders compared to old school network releases and they've gotten fucking lazy. There is literally no other explanation for why it used to be the norm for basically every show to have at least 20 episodes per season and reliably put out a new season every year, and now you're lucky to get 8 episodes in a season, split into two half releases, airing whenever the fuck the showrunner feels like it with multiple year gaps between seasons being considered normal.
>showrunner is in charge of when and how their show is released
Are you stupid? Also a show like Rick and Morty has way more polish than your typical FOX cartoons, with every episode introducing new alien locations and a ton more designs to go with them. I remember the Bob's Burgers crew said it'd be impossible for their show to look like their movie with the tight deadlines and 22-episode orders they have to fill. We're lucky Rick and Morty manages to stick to 10 episodes a year now. It used to be way worse.
>Also a show like Rick and Morty has way more polish >polish
I'd say this is a good sign to disregard everything you say from here on out, cause this argument died after season 4.

>more polish
Maybe he meant just throwing a bunch of extra Zs, Cs, and Ss into all the words?
It was nice, the closest thing was Owl House and Amphibia, now with both over the next ones might be when Molly Ostertag's Neon Galaxy and Fantasy Sports debut on Disney+.
They're mostly corrupted male cartoon protags. I can recognize 3 out of the 5
In the top left we've got Wirt from Over the Garden Wall.
Top right looks like Marco from Star vs. The Forces of Evil (he wore a similar costume in one episode).
Bottom left as you said is Ice King Finn.
But I can't identify the other two. I have a feeling one of them could be "Reverse Dipper Pines" from that gravity falls fanfic where the Pine twins are evil (that's probably the bottom one). But the one with the brandy looks pretty generic as well. He could be anybody. Wait a minute, I just got it. The one with the brandy is supposed to be Evil Morty, during his president phase. You can tell by the tortured Mortys in the background.
Jeez. They made him look generic as fuck. Could've at least kept the eyepatch or something.
>There was a time when all those shows were respected to some degree, hence the reason this image exists >Now they're all considered disappointing and/or cringe
>thanks to Lily Orchad
Fuck off, that freak is a shithead and doesn't deserve to be credited for the actual criticism that show got. SU was terrible but Lily was worse.
GF is still respected overall but time has shown Alex is a bit of a hack.
>Lily Orchard/Jerry Peet
The fact you unironically have that as a point against Steven Universe is doing a disservice to any actual criticism of the show. The dude is legit a sociopath.
>Steven Universe >became a punch back thanks to Lily Orchad videos, that made super fans of the show be bullied
lol that pedophilic horsefucker's opinions don't matter
It got super popular and outstayed it's welcome?
The only way a show as popular as this can go for several years and still feel fresh is if it actually reinvents itself constantly.
Gravity Falls had the opposite problem of lasting too little and rushing the ending.
Also, the show still got tons of merch so it still became a brand, though nowhere near the level of R&M
>what the fuck happen
Dan Harmon doesn't understand satire and twisting a concept other than the brutal lampshading he did in Community, and he's progressively become more of a bitter know-it-all that quickly garnered a bullpen of bitter, nihilistic millennial writers with enough chips in their shoulders to feed a super bowl party. Not to mention this insane obsession amongst both himself and the audience that Rick and Morty needs an actual plot or lore or any fucking thing, no matter how much the former pretends that they don't want to go that angle.
>Gravity Falls
Great show. Every Disney show that followed has tried to copy its formula. >OTGW
Great show. Short, to the point, and great for SleepSnug. >Steven Universe
Gay tranny shit for mentally ill homosexuals >and AT
Stupid pretentious garbage for autists.
The show tried to be cool and hip and appeal to their base instead of confidently doing its own thing
This. Some of those stupid SJW comments in later seasons did it no favors. Don't pander to kotaku, just be honest. And they couldn't do that.
Earlier Rick wasn't a hyper competent undefeatable badass. You could tell he had to actually put in effort to accomplish or succeed on their adventures.
He is Harmon's self insert so he has to be perfect and the reason he is mean and people don't like him is because he is smart and he is surrounded by people who are obligated to be his friends no matter how poorly he treats them
>Normalfag fans. >Show became conceited. >Rick became a God Stu. >Women writers. >Always wants a storyline, but at the same time is passive aggressive about it.
>S3 E1 made fun of everyone who took the cliffhanger seriously
I know they made fun of people who cared about continuity but I can't recall if they did it explicitly in this episode. Like what part was it, I don't have access to the episode to check for myself right now.
Like I get it, Rick breaking out of jail so easily is a slap in the face but it wasn't as explicit a fuck-you as Story Train was.
A slow decline in quality that people like to pretend was a sharp drop-off at whatever point they pretend the show suddenly became reddit. Depending on who you talk to it will range anywhere from episode 1 to season 5 or so.
I've been cautiously open-minded about season 7 but this might be the worst-looking opening credits yet. Nothing about it looks hype except for the zombie clip I guess.
He was still texting underage girls cringey stuff.
I do believe he was fired prior to that coming to light. Or at least the decision was made before people were tweeting about it, even if they didn't make an announcement.
well i mean not to play devil's advocate or anything, but the man DID send all those disgustingly autistic DMs to various underage girls, like that is something that very much did happen
Don't think there was anything technically illegal about any of the messages that got leaked (like he wasn't admitting to fucking anyone or anything), they were just career-endingly weird assuming they were real. I have no idea if they were ever verified to be not fake, because I don't care enough to follow this shit.
Innocent until proven guilty is a legal principle and a sound ethical guideline. From a capitalist perspective though it's irrelevant, if your reputation makes you a liability and your contract doesn't protect you, why shouldn't your contractee sever relations?
I think what some people might not understand is that, in the court of public opinion, they're not saying that he was a child molestor or something, they're saying that him sending those lurid DMs to underage girls WAS the 'crime', not from a legal perspective but from an "I am no longer going to support this piece of media" perspective.
I feel like it makes for Harmon to take over for Rick. He already does plenty of other voices on the show and as the head guy in charge, he'd be readily available for ADR or the next Wendy's commercial. Here's his casual attempt at Rick from years back (17:40): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVXPSkg9Sps&t=1060s
Morty could be anyone. I have no clue how they approached it.
Should also mention that Dan Harmon understands the character of Rick we know today better than anyone. Even if his vocal portrayal probably wouldn't sound like Roiland's, it would reflect Harmon's vision for the character that he's gradually made his own with each passing season.
The fuck are you talking abot? It was Dan who came up with things like 3deep3you narratives and I'm so miserable, could I just die? It was Justin who was high enough to do sci-fi wacky stuff, now without him prepare for more shit drama with science that only serves as a deux ex machina or for nihilistic depression
yeah, no change from season 3 so whatever
except I think Snowboarding *might* be from an actual episode if only because it's not common practice for there to be three fake shots all in a row. Music Box Dance and Bloodsport Jerry are totally made up tho.
roiland was a guy whose only value was as a voice actor, not as a show creator or a writer or a designer, and then allegations made his value become negative, so the cold calculus of capitalism cut him from the equation.
Same for me except the last one. I think Jerry Van Damme is from an episode. >Jerry's having a meditative workout >Rick suddenly barges in, "Jerry, what the fuck are you doing?"
Something like that.
The editing of this season's intro frustrates me. That first "piece of footage" is always supposed to wow you and grab your attention. Why didn't they place that zombie shot BEFORE Jacked Summer? It's also just kind of a boring intro in general. These usually do a better job of exciting me.
The show is pretty uniform, but the posing is always on point. The directing here will always make it one of my favorite sequences from the show: https://youtu.be/203OAQYDKNw
This is basically my favourite moment in the entire show. It really summarizes how ruthless and self-serving Rick is and also the lengths he'll go to for something meaningless like dipping sauce. The patriotic music playing and the throwback to the first season with Morty mumbling in confusion was incredible.
They tried to reproduce this in the recent season finale but it wasn't the same. It wasn't the same because in between this moment and the last episode they had produced like four fucking seasons of complete dogshit.
he only brings up the mulan mcnugget sauce because it's a way to not have to think about his dead wife

I like that. And I want to believe that's why he obsesses over it. But I don't think the writers were thinking it nor have they acknowledged that possible connection. Because all they've done is fuck the show.
It's just so fucking strange that this moment happened and they fucked around for nearly four whole seasons just to get back onto the path where Rick is chasing down Rick Prime. And in the meanwhile they have basically destroyed, for no value towards that mission, everything in Rick's life that could have helped bridge everything to Rick Prime. Bird Person is basically gone, his career as a intergalactic terrorist was him chasing a fling, Squanchy's fate was completely ignored, they introduced Aquaman in a completely nonsensical manner, they've antagonized the President numerous times.
I don't fucking get it. At this moment it felt like the show had direction and they completely ignored it. And then they threw it in our faces, and blew up the citadel... again. The one fucking thing that holds a universe of Ricks in check and they fuck with it. And waste several Rick "friends" on a stupid Godfather episode about ferret Voltron.

I dunno, man, I think you might be overthinking it, I watch the episodes and they have some well-constructed dialog gags and some cool original ideas and my brain squeezes out a few drops of serotonin, I think it doesn't have to be more than that

>well-constructed dialog gags and some cool original ideas
Here's the thing, I don't think they had this either. Even if I'm overthinking the plot, fine, that's just one thing they missed but they missed everything else you're talking about in my opinion. The dragonfucker episode stands out as being completely bankrupt, like it could have been about anything not dragons and the script would be just as awful. They turned Rick into a cybernetic-god.
It stopped being original. They stopped dreaming up about novel situations for common tropes like the Evil Twin episode and they just started feeding the audience raw uncooked tropes like the fucking Voltron+Godfather episode. It's just Big Bang Theory now. Oh look it's Aquaman but kinda flamboyant! That's not original.

I dunno, I thought the idea of "the guy with all the science has an arch-nemesis that he can't science away because he has magic and legitimate powers" was a pretty neat idea. Sure he's aquaman, but they made him slutty and pansexual and he barely shows up so you can't even argue he's overused. I think a lot of people just want to be mad, and so look for excuses to criticize even if they have to invent them out of thin air, which is especially frustrating because they show ISN'T perfect, and there's plenty of things to nitpick that are more legitimate.
All I know is, I'm excited for the new season because overall the show has been really fun, for me.
How was the dragon episode "completely bankrupt"?

>How was the dragon episode "completely bankrupt"?
Because it wasn't about dragons and had nothing to do with dragons. It took a concept and did nothing about it just like they used Mad Max and Voltron robots for basically zero original ideas other than to use them exactly as they were. The earlier episodes took a concept that twisted it, like the Evil Twin episode flipped it around and made it original that the "worst" parts that were expelled from Rick were in fact his sympathy and care or the Hive Mind episode where Unity was something you could talk to like a reasonable person. The good episodes asked what-if questions, the overwhelming number of bad episodes just gave you the meme straight up unmodified. The fortune cookie episode was just about handing wealthy elites more status and wealth, that's just REALITY and anybody can fucking write that and that is true of everything else they did. The Captain Planet episode wasn't an original take on Captain Planet, climate terrorists and saboteurs are happening RIGHT NOW.
The point is this, the people writing this show don't understand science fiction. Science fiction is taking current human society and adding something weird and seeing how things change, like fucking science. The earlier writers understood this. The people writing the dragonfucker episode didn't, because nothing changed. The dragons liked sex... the end. That's not different, that's just plain ordinary sitcom horseshit.
Everyone else might be making up shit just to be angry but there are numerous legitimate problems with the show. Because it could be more than just some stupid showcase of violence and action scenes and they're not doing it.
For all the effort they put into the backgrounds, I wish they made the characters more expressive like in your pic
Broke: Only use drawings that are on the model sheet.
Woke: Use drawings that are on the model sheet as a reference for new drawings.
Bespoke: Never use the drawings that are on the model sheet, ever.
I noticed the opening had no "created by" credits at the end like all the previous seasons. I wonder if that was just removed for the promo release, or if they had to completely remove the credit to avoid putting Roiland's name on it. Willing to bet Harmon is seething if it's the latter.
I literally do not care one way or the other about anything involving Roiland. Let him stay or get rid of him, it makes literally no difference. I do not care. I really don't think he's special at all and he seems like a pain to work with. But either way I just do not give a shit.
it would honestly be super funny if it's just Roiland back doing the voices and all this "oooh, who's it going to be??" was all hype generation, I mean that'd never happen but if it did that would be extremely funny.
He most likely gets a percentage of the episode budgets. It's a certainty that he's still getting paid, it would have been lunacy to give him all his money up front and equally lunatic for him to accept a contract that allowed the network to drop him without him retaining an interest in the show.

It really shouldn't be that hard, but Hollywood HATES starting from scratch for some reason.
>for some reason
>Brad Neely character with pupils
>It isn't Queeblo
Barf-a-roni
Fuck you, China IL The Series was aces
it wasn't Professor Brothers, but it was still pretty damn good.
it peaked season 2
but I do miss it
What was so bad about Season 3?
Not enough Pony. She should appear in every frame.
Tell me how I know you are just some homosexual
So is the running theme this season everyone getting jacked?
>i start to work out
>my cartoon characters start to work out as well
they are literally me
WAGMI
Jerry as Yujiro? I can't think of a worse joke
It's a Jean Claude Van Dame reference you absolute tool.
Shut the fuck up, BITCH.
You're still a fucking retard and a weeb.
Yujiro's bullshit hax is the only thing that can beat Rick's Gary Stu status
Because the charges weren't the only bad thing about him that came to light and the other things that did come to light did so via the evidence about them.
Protip: you don't have to do literately illegal things to be seen as a terrible person and business risk.
whoops, misclick
>Jerry as Yujiro
Fucking weeb zoomers have no culture past the 2010s
nobody cares about your 1970s tryhard movie grandpa
The guy who made baki did. Ya silly goose.
thats a Blood Sport reference you fucking zoomer.
Those losers don't know about anything that came before they were born.
New generations shouldn't watch fucking Van Damme action films, not when there's shit like Jet Li or Jackie Chan or just fucking Kill Bill available.
too bad he isn't smoking.
I really hope we get another terrible Voltron episode full of references to anime the writers clearly don't understand
same
Jerry-Claude Van Damme
is the show still good?
Season 6 was better than 3-5, if that means anything.
hasn't been since season 3
just cancel the show already christ
I'm going to get to enjoy Evil Morty kino (he's appeared in ever odd numbered season) while you continue to seethe for four to five more years.
Could you shut the fuck up and stop shilling? Everybody can tell it's you.
Season 6 is the best season since 2 and I’m not kidding.
Mo it isn't
*Mort it Ricksn’t
I know her
I love her~
whoa she's a milf for real
Remember when this show was considered to be a breath of fresh air and people put it on the same level as Gravity Falls,OTGW, Steven Universe and AT
What the fuck happen?
GPP got way too comfortable after the 7 season order, which ironically should have been carte blanche to just do whatever they wanted. Imagine if we got really creative and fun stuff like a musical or a murder mystery episode.
Harmon is a cuck who is obsessed with being suuuuper original and never doing a trope episode. Hope he has a heart attack
What's wrong with not doing tropes? And weren't 1/2 the episode in the first 3 seasons just parodies anyways so they are tropes?
>Harmon is a cuck who is obsessed with being suuuuper original and never doing a trope episode
nagger have you ever watched Community?
The heist episode was good and memorable
>murder mystery episode
would watch
I wouldnt
>Also a show like Rick and Morty has way more polish
>polish
I'd say this is a good sign to disregard everything you say from here on out, cause this argument died after season 4.
For an animated sitcom, Rick and Morty's visuals are polished as fuck. How did you miss his point?
>more polish
Maybe he meant just throwing a bunch of extra Zs, Cs, and Ss into all the words?
Wish i could go back
I miss this time back in the animation fandom now everyone is divided due to most of those having shit endings
It was nice, the closest thing was Owl House and Amphibia, now with both over the next ones might be when Molly Ostertag's Neon Galaxy and Fantasy Sports debut on Disney+.
>the closest thing was Owl House and Amphibia
Too many bad blood with one or the other
i don't recognise most of them (apart from ice king finn), can you help me?
I really own the japanese an apology, I always shit on them for making bad endings but jesus christ we are not better
steven. you're so silly.
I don't care what you nerds think, this shit was always extremely fucking cringe and I hated it.

>is the only one who's still respected
You clearly don't browse Cinemaphile enough.
I genuinely mean this when I say that co (and Cinemaphile's) respect means less then nothing
>thanks to Lily Orchad
Fuck off, that freak is a shithead and doesn't deserve to be credited for the actual criticism that show got. SU was terrible but Lily was worse.
GF is still respected overall but time has shown Alex is a bit of a hack.
>Lily Orchard/Jerry Peet
The fact you unironically have that as a point against Steven Universe is doing a disservice to any actual criticism of the show. The dude is legit a sociopath.
>Steven Universe
>became a punch back thanks to Lily Orchad videos, that made super fans of the show be bullied
lol that pedophilic horsefucker's opinions don't matter
I don't care what you nerds think, this shit was always extremely fucking cringe and I loved it.
Fucking retarded shit, almost makes Mark seem like a total autistic sperg.
Ahh but the nostalgia is deep with this one.

I mean the very next season started with Rick instantly solving the problem and making fun of the people who cared about the cliffhanger THEY set up.
It got super popular and outstayed it's welcome?
The only way a show as popular as this can go for several years and still feel fresh is if it actually reinvents itself constantly.
It was comfy times
The show tried to be cool and hip and appeal to their base instead of confidently doing its own thing
It lasted for 7 seasons and became another soulless brand selling themselves to the highest bidder, becoming exactly the thing they were satirizing.
I 'member…
Gravity Falls had the opposite problem of lasting too little and rushing the ending.
Also, the show still got tons of merch so it still became a brand, though nowhere near the level of R&M
looking back on it
gravity falls fucking sucked
>what the fuck happen
Gay tranny shit for mentally ill homosexuals
>and AT
Stupid pretentious garbage for autists.
This. Some of those stupid SJW comments in later seasons did it no favors. Don't pander to kotaku, just be honest. And they couldn't do that.
Peak taste here anon, although I hate that people pretend that AT had nothing to offer JUST because season 6 and onwards shit the bed HARD
>you will never come back to watching for the first time The Return/Jail Break after watching Not What He Seems
Earlier Rick wasn't a hyper competent undefeatable badass. You could tell he had to actually put in effort to accomplish or succeed on their adventures.
He is Harmon's self insert so he has to be perfect and the reason he is mean and people don't like him is because he is smart and he is surrounded by people who are obligated to be his friends no matter how poorly he treats them
Jeff was nice to his pals, he was just shy about it.
>Normalfag fans.
>Show became conceited.
>Rick became a God Stu.
>Women writers.
>Always wants a storyline, but at the same time is passive aggressive about it.
Season 3 happened.
S3 E1 made fun of everyone who took the cliffhanger seriously, that and S3 made many people from those spaces seeing the shows as worthless.
Story Train wasn't making fun of fans for wanting lore. It was making fun of fans for ONLY wanting lore:
Well then they should kill Prime Rick already.
>t. chad that doesn't watch rick and bordey
>Self-appointed Chad
Okay, Ernest.
Lorefags suck and are cringe as fuck.
I don't know any of these shows.
Season 3 happened. A lot of people got filtered & some who stuck around left when season 4 came along.
A slow decline in quality that people like to pretend was a sharp drop-off at whatever point they pretend the show suddenly became reddit. Depending on who you talk to it will range anywhere from episode 1 to season 5 or so.
Honestly, they hired women writers and Cinemaphile lost all interest
>Gravity Falls,OTGW, Steven Universe and AT
I never put R&M on the same level as all that faggy shit, no.
Gravity Falls wasn't that great. Face it already.
Let’s discuss a beth/summer spin off
Let's discuss you killing yourself instead.
I've been cautiously open-minded about season 7 but this might be the worst-looking opening credits yet. Nothing about it looks hype except for the zombie clip I guess.
That was boring. Hopefully the episodes are better than the intro
>jacked Summer
please god let this not be a fake scene
>le extra line bump
I like muscular girls but this art design is nothing to get excited about
Still mad
Golfbros, out time will come.
come on, Michael Cusack

The only recasting I'd be comfortable with if they haven't already gone with that one impressionist who went viral.
Beach episode please.
Hot spring episode when
So why did Roiland get removed and/or blacklisted entirely? I thought the charges against him got dropped.
He was still texting underage girls cringey stuff.
LOCK HIM UP!
They fired him before the charges got dropped.
I do believe he was fired prior to that coming to light. Or at least the decision was made before people were tweeting about it, even if they didn't make an announcement.
>charges against him got dropped.
Honestly that doesn't matter once you get acussed of something. You're pretty much fucked, guilty until proven innocent
well i mean not to play devil's advocate or anything, but the man DID send all those disgustingly autistic DMs to various underage girls, like that is something that very much did happen
Did he get charged with anything for that?
No? Why does that matter? People not wanting to work with him has nothing to do with whether there was any "legal" wrongdoing.
I think what some people might not understand is that, in the court of public opinion, they're not saying that he was a child molestor or something, they're saying that him sending those lurid DMs to underage girls WAS the 'crime', not from a legal perspective but from an "I am no longer going to support this piece of media" perspective.
gonna be pretty disappointed if the new VA is just Harmon
I feel like it makes for Harmon to take over for Rick. He already does plenty of other voices on the show and as the head guy in charge, he'd be readily available for ADR or the next Wendy's commercial. Here's his casual attempt at Rick from years back (17:40): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVXPSkg9Sps&t=1060s
Morty could be anyone. I have no clue how they approached it.
>Morty could be anyone. I have no clue how they approached it.
They should've got that tiktok impressionist. He nailed Morty perfectly.
It's always really obvious which ones are fake and which ones are real.
This one is more obvious than the last few. I agree with
except I think Snowboarding *might* be from an actual episode if only because it's not common practice for there to be three fake shots all in a row. Music Box Dance and Bloodsport Jerry are totally made up tho.
Meh. Nothing in it stands out much. Maybe some fetish material, but it all seems like things they done before and superficial references to movies.
I'm not exactly a big fan of modern rick and morty and my opinion is extremely biased to hating it for a lot of reasons, tho.
REMINDER
ROILAND DID NOTHING WRONG
roiland was a guy whose only value was as a voice actor, not as a show creator or a writer or a designer, and then allegations made his value become negative, so the cold calculus of capitalism cut him from the equation.
Shut up troonaloon, i know you wanted him dead, cancelling over lies wasnt enough?
The Jerry Van Damm, that's all I care about
Puss: Please stop using me for muscle gains.
It's gonna suck. We've jumped the shark ages ago
With the pedo guy gone will they finally stop the underages having sex and incest jokes?
Maybe the writers will finally stop pretending Summer is anything but a gross bitch who looks like a very mildly more feminine version of Jerry?
No Justin no watch
NOOOO
Roiland did NOTHING wrong, fuck all trannaloons, i want moot anf hiro back, not whoever pukeflag colored monster rules the site now
>Roiland did NOTHING wrong
He made Rick and Morty
Shame they killed Feral Summer offscreen. She was fun.
nothing matters! we're all gonna die and the universe is meaningless BURRRRRRRRRRRP!!!
Any incest?
Man, they really are waiting til the very last second to reveal Rick and Morty s.nee voice.
Sneed and Chuck confirmed to voice Rick and Morty
Harmon is a workplace predator
grass tastes bad
No roiland no watch
why
I can't wait for the anime to btfo dan the hormone

Usually only one shot is exclusive to the intro
Same for me except the last one. I think Jerry Van Damme is from an episode.
>Jerry's having a meditative workout
>Rick suddenly barges in, "Jerry, what the fuck are you doing?"
Hope we see Timelord Jessica make her reappearance.
For all the effort they put into the backgrounds, I wish they made the characters more expressive like in your pic
Broke: Only use drawings that are on the model sheet.
Woke: Use drawings that are on the model sheet as a reference for new drawings.
Bespoke: Never use the drawings that are on the model sheet, ever.
Amazing they have a kid together.
wait really
im totally out of the loop on this show, when did this happen?
S5. Through a series of dumb and improbable events, the US government extracted an egg from Summer which was fertilized by giant mutant Morty sperm.
Best part is Summer named it Naruto
I noticed the opening had no "created by" credits at the end like all the previous seasons. I wonder if that was just removed for the promo release, or if they had to completely remove the credit to avoid putting Roiland's name on it. Willing to bet Harmon is seething if it's the latter.
I literally do not care one way or the other about anything involving Roiland. Let him stay or get rid of him, it makes literally no difference. I do not care. I really don't think he's special at all and he seems like a pain to work with. But either way I just do not give a shit.
Okay cool but what the fuck does that have to do with my post?
If the new voices are bad you will care.
knew you that this webm was inspiration to rick and morty?
it is morty and summer.
Fuck America
...whats wrong with her face?
Can you really not tell that they both have Down Syndrome?
mid and snorey, smiling friends better

This. The thought of Smiling Friends S2 somehow not living up to fans' insane expectations terrifies me
hot charlie on charlie action
Big news for Roiland fans: https://youtu.be/Xq7P_fNx0YI
it would honestly be super funny if it's just Roiland back doing the voices and all this "oooh, who's it going to be??" was all hype generation, I mean that'd never happen but if it did that would be extremely funny.
Now that what's his face is gone, does this mean the incest promotion will stop?
Nah that's Harmon's thing.
He stopped writing for the show when the incest jokes ramped up. His thing was Summer peeing.
Queen
He most likely gets a percentage of the episode budgets. It's a certainty that he's still getting paid, it would have been lunacy to give him all his money up front and equally lunatic for him to accept a contract that allowed the network to drop him without him retaining an interest in the show.
