Due to recent developments I'm starting to think most of the quality came from Roiland, Rick and Morty might crash and burn if they don't get it together.

He was barely involved in the show past its earlier years. Losing some improv might be a shame, but all in all I don't see how his departure would be the main reason for the show to fall apart.

Roiland started backing off during season 2, and basically stopped contributing by the end of it, according to Dan Harmon himself. I cba to fetch the source, he talked about it in a recent interview.

Trading improv comedy for serialized world-building was probably for the better, save for some of the most generic and bizarre concepts that we got (Morty's dragon, Mad Max dimension, outdated anime references, giant incest baby, the fortune cookie shadow corporation)

Yeah, Dan Harmon has made it no secret that he basically took over with his own set of writers as Season 2 started, and Roiland got further and further pushed to the back. It's why the show had such a shift in its dynamic and its quality, and why the writers are so vindictive to complain about people wanting a return to a lot of S1's elements: because they just don't understand it, and all the parts that people complained about over the past 5 Seasons were pretty much all theirs.

I wouldn't be so presumptuous as to say any and all good bits left in the show were Roiland's, but him being entirely removed will raise some eyebrows

Honestly I like his writing direction. Last season felt like the best of having self contained stories while having an overarching narrative. I just worry the incest jokes are gonna go overboard now

They're good. They sound similar enough even if Rick's yelling is off but that's okay because it's their first season which of course will be rough for them. Considering that the show will go on until at least season 10, that's a long time for them to put their own soul into the characters and for us to get used to hearing them.

At least we get to see Rick as a foot.

Some nerd will make an AI edit of the new voices so I'm not too worried.

Morty's voice is somewhat passsable. Rick's sounds awful at times.

It’s commonly agreed on Cinemaphile everything after season 1 and 2 is the best of the series

    >how are we feeling
stick a raygun up your ass and pull the trigger. I'm not watching a show hijacked by feminists. It's the TV show equivalent of mutiny.
    >b-but he's a sex pest!
And he played an amoral psychopath, god forbid anyone who makes cartoons isn't super correct all the time. Cartoons are for the mentally disturbed.

    >Will it actually be any good?
It's going to be the usual. Awful to meh episodes with a couple of them being good, most likely the first one and season finale.

    >How are we feeling Roiland's replacements?
They are decent, hope they can improve later on, The only doubt I have is whether Rick's VA will be able to do the drunk tone.

He still belches in season 6, just infrequently. I just wonder if they'll actually show him drinking this time.

They could just make him sober this time around
