As a rule of thumb, most reptile throats can handle something up to 1.5 times the widest part of their body. Even if you say "well, he's a lizardman hybrid so that's probably not the same" and you limit it to 1.5 times the width of his neck, the guy still had a thick neck and fullsize Rae isn't notably bigger than that at her widest point, unless she stretches her arms out. She's in the fetal position when she gets crunched back down, so that's the problem. She just wasn't a big enough girl to choke a lizard.

My point is that what the average person considers "creepy" changes so quickly it's irrelevant.
So this is something completely different from the comic, correct? Really wondering what plans they could have for her considering most people here was saying she wasn't even that important while she was alive.
Mmm, yeah that's likely it. Forgot that the War arc has like half a dozen crossover characters in it that they can't use in the show. Although if they just said frick it and Keith David Spawn just shows up in the show I'd be totally fine with it

Wouldn't she be insane from the centuries of torture tallied up on all her deaths?

But why?
Different experiences, all teachable moments.
People like you are probably too irresponsible to allow voting rights.
Because you're still living all the same experiences you would as someone your age. If a teenager was able to experience his life at that time x3 that wouldn't mean he's suddenly an adult now, seeing people you love die, experiencing grief that hard, losing a loved one you bonded over for years, even just small stuff like having to move out and living on your own. that kinda stuff you don't get by just repeating the same stuff you've been doing for more time, not to mention her body literally isn't going to mature faster no matter how many copies she makes.

Not that anon, but you could get a lot more experience on life and its meaning than even 80+ year olds at that age if you don't limit yourself to one culture. Would you say a guy whose never left his American state has gained more wisdom than a kate with a dupe living in every country on the planet? Ultimately this is just going to be opinion on what counts as life experience.

Considering he dates back to prehistoric times (i think?) i'd say yes. Did Kate even have a dupe on every different country on the planet or that's just speculation?

Just in general. In comics with how shook up she acts it was probably the first time she was truly alone in her hideout. And her brother acts like she is dead too.
>That's like saying Multiple Man is mentally thousands of years old because he sent out hundreds of dupes and let them live their own lives for years and years.
If Madrox re-absorbs them and gains their knowledge and experience then yes that's exactly true. He's literally living hundreds of lives which makes him hundreds of years old. Provided of course the dupes actually live and do shit. He's not really growing if all his dupes last five seconds in a fight before getting ripped apart, then all he's doing is living a nightmare of death. But it depends on if the dudes 'stream' their experience to him or 'download' it when he reabsorbs them.
>Madrox needs to reabsorb them to get the experiences, you'd know that if you actually read the comics.
I said IF he reabsorbs them h does gain their memories you dumb frick. He can't do that if they're fricking dead. Jesus Christ learn how to read you fricking mouthbreather. I'm comparing the download vs stream argument to compare them to Duplikates since we've not had it stated exactly how she learns from them, if she gains the memories after reabsorbing LIKE Madrox or if she streams them live because most of her clones die so quickly they should barely count.
Fricking hell the people on this board are stupid.
>That’s a nice story to tell the judge.
Who would even be in a court case, they're both legal adults and how is the judge going to prove immortal is thousands of years old and not just a regular 40 year old dating a 20 year old which is legal?
>Wouldn't she be insane from the centuries of torture tallied up on all her deaths?
Depends on if they stream or download their experiences. If they stream, yes, if they download no they'd need to survive.

Then why are they wearing immortal costumes and not dupli-costumes with the numbers on?
>He has had several kids across the years, none of them got his powerset because he outlived them all.
Kate's abilities only effect the 7th kid of the 7th kid they're super rare. Meanwhile they're shown suiting up and fighting, so the assumption is they got some of immortal's powers, maybe not complete immortality, maybe half or something. But they can't duplicate.

IF THERES A BABY AND IT DUPLICATES ITSELF 20 TIMES AND LIVES FOR A YEAR IS THAT BABY NOW 20?
WHAT IF THE BABY DUPLICATES ITSELF 70 TIMES INSTEAD.
CAN IT QUALIFY FOR SOCIAL SECURITY
>IF THERES A BABY AND IT DUPLICATES ITSELF 20 TIMES AND LIVES FOR A YEAR IS THAT BABY NOW 20?
No, because it hasn't developed the concept of time yet. And even then you'd need a proportional amount of self reflection and mental awareness for it to count. A 6 year old living 20 simultaneous lives for a year recombining wouldn't really count as a 26 year old. And of course there would be overlap if all 20 single years were basically the same thing. You need a varying breadth of experience within those years to tally as a cumulatively lived life. If all you're doing is throwing clones at a guy who die in five seconds they won't count. but if you send one off to live somewhere else for a year then you would effectively live two lives for a year then yes it would count. I don't see how this is a hard concept to understand.
And Social Security? Of course it can. With no birth certificate they'd just assume it was an immigrant and give it free housing too.
I hate that they raceswapped Mark and Debbie just because of the voice actors but I hate people lying that they looked Asian in the comic even more, Kate gives the lie to that
What the frick was the curse supposed to be? It sounds like something was supposed to happen to Tsing's wife, but she already died in childbirth. What else was supposed to happen?
It was a very specific "the cursed descendant will have too many kids and go insane from the stress of providing for them"
When the wife died and the guy didn't remarry, the curse got creative.
As far as leftie media is concern Asians are treated as being white unless in a relationship with whites, only then do they become an ethnic darling of color who must not be allowed to be sullied by the imperialist white man or a BASED PoC chad getting a slice of that white booty [so long as someone higher up the racial totem pole doesn't want her anyway]. So since she was a woman, and a pretty girly one at that, who ditched a shitty darkened up guy for lying to her and went to a nominally white dude, they can.
American politics are so moronic. But that logic actually shakes out, thanks for explaining it anon. Makes sense why the completely average white b***h is getting so much attention and survived when the actual character who lived in the comics is an asian with interesting powers that marries and lives with a relatively important character later on just got fridged.
There used to be a racemixschizo who had a big collage showing that WM/any PoC female pairings over the last 15-20 years was becoming the new "don't let black men near your daughters" thing with how it kept being pushed as "inherently temporary" or out of center stage in general. At this point we can confirm it's happening but nobody is actually completely sure why.
The Asian thing is just that until very recently the radical left didn't even have a fricking toehold in Asian-American communities and has always kinda hated them while they kept their heads down and proved a shitload of their bullshit they rely on to get support to be just flat out wrong. Recently they managed to get some of the younger generations but by and large Asians in the US seem generally just fricking sick of them on account of how quickly they get backstabbed whenever it turns out the racism they're getting is coming from another ethnic group other than white. There's some fun videos out there of shit like an asian girl being asked to speak about being assaulted for racial reasons and them rushing to shut her up when she says it was blacks doing it and tell her what she "really' means.
We don't need another Invincible thread right now, so instead I'll hijack this one to ask what's the deal with Cecil? The show keeps shitting on him like he's some evil government man in black looking for any excuse to manipulate his pawns but the dude just seems like he's trying to help. He doesn't tell everyone everything but he's not an outright controlling douche. Is he more of an butthole in the comics or something?
>Is he more of an butthole in the comics or something?
He's about the same.
To the larger point, everyone in the show stays pissed at him because they have years or decades or a lifetime of experience with him and we don't really get to see it. You're supposed to take it at face value when Mark's mom says something like "You're offering to help because you'll get X out of it later" because their relationship is that both of them know she's right. Even when he's legitimately wanting to help, which is most of the time, both parties know that every good deed has strings attached. For instance, Oliver certainly needs a babysitter and Mark's mom needs help that is used to dealing with superhero babies, and Cecil is an old family friend and wants to make things easier on her by offering the help, but his job means she's not allowed to turn that help down. The help is coming whether she wants it or not and regardless of whether or not she can prove it's from Cecil. That's grating because it's a constant reminder that even if you think he's being nice and he IS being nice, he's still on the job and his job is to make sure bugboy has eyes on him at all times. Friendship and kindness come second with Cecil and no one in his relationships pretends that's not the case. See also: how Donald's whole situation is handled. He goes out of his way for a friend, but turns him into an asset at the same time.
Lizard League was peak and it's sad to see them fail.
King Lizard should've won and only lost on a technicality. >Shoot your enemy in the head >He doesn't die
You literally can not blame the loss on him at this point
>Shoot your enemy in the head >He doesn't die
A COBRA knockoff has no excuse to think guns work. Rex had the good sense to beat a man to death after incapacitating him.
How so? I haven't read the books since they first came out, but didn't they do the same thing there?
She "dies", Immortal retires, then it's revealed they're all still alive somewhere?
In the new episode, Rae climbs out of Komodo's corpse and gets medical treatment. Ray died for real there in the books. It doesn't necessarily mean Kate isn't off in hiding, but it does mean they're still actively changing things. Maybe they just wanted an extra body around to kill later, or maybe they're getting weird with it.
Rae surviving doesn't really change anything to the overall plot. Ray/Rae wasn't really a deep character to begin with and didn't have any meaningful connections with any characters. Her surviving doesn't take away from the overall story because no one really cared about Shrinking Ray both in universe and to the general audience Kate on the other does get some development and is a major part of the Immortal's storyline
If she were perma killed they'd have to re write or straight up get rid of some story events later.in the show. A lot more dificult than just adding a few more Shrinking Rae scenes very once in a while and tossing her in some background scenes if she survives
>Ray/Rae wasn't really a deep character to begin with
That's exactly my point. In the source material, Ray's whole purpose is to be one of the casualties in the clusterfrick that makes Rex finally start taking things seriously. Narratively, they exist only to die right then. Why pull that punch now? They've been perfectly fine with quick and dirty deaths elsewhere. They clearly weren't trying to tone back the gore, since they animated it the way they did and set it up to be a fatality. Plus, if Kate is still in hiding like in the book, that moment of growth has the rug pulled completely pulled out from under it since everyone actually walked away fine. The change is very suspicious and only makes sense if Rae is going to matter, which means anything could go off the rails.

If you have to put an Image character from the late 2010s-2023 for the Invincible war adaptación, who would you choose?
I'll put Gert.
so what do you guys think they're gonna do with Shrinking Rae?
Is she just gonna be irrelevant for the rest of the series in the background?
Or are they gonna kill her off down the road? Perhaps during the multiverse war, or during the coup.
Do you think she ever just makes thousands of clones to have sex with random men at the same time because she constantly needs to push her orgasms' further?
>tfw Rae survived so she and Rex can develop an relationship through their shared Trauma. When the Invincible war happens, Rex will sacrifice himself to take one down. She will survive, but be even fricked up as a result, as the views get slapped with heavy feels.
That's what I think will happen.
Rex straight up lied to her about his relationship with Eve to get into her pants. I don't understand how morons fail to fricking understand this isn't a double standard. She dumped his ass and hooked up with Immortal.
>She and Rex end up in a wholesome relationship. >Invincible War happens, and while she almost gets killed, she is saved by Rex who sacrifices himself to take down the evil Invincible saving her life as well. >Rae becomes even more traumatised and depressed.
I think Kirkman said in a Penvincipals letters section that he'd want clancy brown and honestly that's who I was thinking anyway. Not sure about the human voice though, I guess Matthew Lillard? Since they've clearly got VA money to spare.
>We sure Kate was killed off?
The show is identical to the comics in most of the ways that matter most.
The biggest and most painful change to the plot is we were robbed of sexy bug women.
While they kept the shrinking character alive in contradiction to the comic book, that doesn't mean that Kate fails to survive her death, which she did in the comic.
Shrinking Rae is alive?
It would make sense once she felt his body wouldn't budge and it started to hurt she would just reverse it
What happened to his head? Did they just shoot him?
Komodo bit Rex's hand off which Rex turned into a energy grenade in desperation. Insta-kill.

She to strong for dies
I knew the homosexual showrunners wouldn't kill a female character like that
What are you complaining about? More waifus.
It's actually a good idea to let some events diverge from the comics so people who read them have some surprises

yes he does, he appears in the maximum security jail the mauler twins escape in season 1
It was funny seeing Mauler twins separated into different cells, but an entire chinese cartel cramped in one
to be fair, the maulers need their sciencey stuff to make clones unlike multipaul

did they ever explicitly state that Rex has super durability and super strength?
Because in the animated canon, they didn't show Rex's prequel origin story like they did Atom Eve.
They haven't said but they hinted at it with his ass beating from Monster Girl.
In the comic Rex had muscle and bone density alterations as well as his uniform being made from kevlar all to allow him to use his explosives without harming himself severely. This was done as part of the super soldier experiments by Cecil's precedecessor.
>But how is Rex still alive after taking a bullet to the head?
It didn't hit any vital organs of his.

If that's the case I'll drop the show. Miss me with that bullshit.

Don't reply to me again you fricking casual.
>Mentally she was the same age as him via all her duplicate lives tallying hours.
That’s a nice story to tell the judge.
>Wouldn't she be insane from the centuries of torture tallied up on all her deaths?
Depends on if they stream or download their experiences. If they stream, yes, if they download no they'd need to survive.
but living on multiple bodies on parallel isn't the same as actually growing up and watching every single person you've met die several times over
not to mention that the inmortal absolutely has a power dynamic going on with her
i don't even care about this tbh i just find his attachment to her incredibly fricking tacky and only there for the sake of drama, kirkman's a fricking hack
>Kate reading the racist quotes of her husband so she can use it against him later
>not her jilling off to the idea of her husband saying them in public and repeating them later in the bedroom.
wait, would their kids have Duplikate powers? Because i know they won't have Imortal powers since there's a alternate future with him alone.
>wait, would their kids have Duplikate powers? Because i know they won't have Imortal powers since there's a alternate future with him alone.
Then why are they wearing immortal costumes and not dupli-costumes with the numbers on?
He has had several kids across the years, none of them got his powerset because he outlived them all.
>But they can't duplicate.
Give me 3 minutes with the female and 9 months after and I'll prove you wrong
Procreating isn't duplicating dipshit.
>Mentally she was the same age as him via all her duplicate lives tallying hours
>Rip
I get it. Because she was ripped in half
>;(
What does “sad wink” mean?
>bawd
nothing of value lost
>Robbing best girl of her good end
Bullshit if true. Also are they even allowed to kill off the Asian, isn't that illegal nowadays?
They probably killed her because showing a happily married, well to do white couple with kids is offensive nowadays.
>white couple
Anon
The only thing that triggers liberals more than whites is east asians.
I hate that they raceswapped Mark and Debbie just because of the voice actors but I hate people lying that they looked Asian in the comic even more, Kate gives the lie to that
asians are white-presenting
What the frick is even going on anymore.
Kate and her brother are literally ancient chinese magic bullshit.
What the frick was the curse supposed to be? It sounds like something was supposed to happen to Tsing's wife, but she already died in childbirth. What else was supposed to happen?
>Kill your wife
>Make your kids living fetishbait
>Drive you insane
>Make your daughter thirst for white wiener, weakening your bloodline
Seems pretty obvious to me anon.
>Shoot your enemy in the head
>He doesn't die
You literally can not blame the loss on him at this point
>Shoot your enemy in the head
>He doesn't die
A COBRA knockoff has no excuse to think guns work. Rex had the good sense to beat a man to death after incapacitating him.
You guys all know she's not dead, right?
You guys all read the comics when they were released, right?
That's really up in the air at this point, after last night's episode.
More people surviving now means they will show up later when the War happens and im pretty sure Amazon cant get the rights to use all the crossover characters that showed up like Spawn.
If you have to put an Image character from the late 2010s-2023 for the Invincible war adaptación, who would you choose?
I'll put Gert.
They need more bodies for the invincible war or maybe they want to pair her up with Rex before he bites it.
Sure, it could be as simple as that. All I'm saying is that these changes add up, both in terms of precedent and consequences.
Rex was a shitlord during his coup, but changing it up by him backstabbing and killing Rae would be too much for me.
IW has Kirkman's JSA team filling in gaps from the S3 art. So they got bodies along with the other randoms we saw from previous eps.
so what do you guys think they're gonna do with Shrinking Rae?
Is she just gonna be irrelevant for the rest of the series in the background?
Or are they gonna kill her off down the road? Perhaps during the multiverse war, or during the coup.
You don't fake out a death just to kill them anyway, she will have some sort of PTSD arc and probably something with Rex
>You don't fake out a death just to kill them anyway
Clearly you haven't watched/read Stardust Crusaders
Does Amazon have rights to produce and adapt the Guardians of the Globe comic series, or is it strictly Invincible?
Do you think she ever just makes thousands of clones to have sex with random men at the same time because she constantly needs to push her orgasms' further?
>tfw Rae survived so she and Rex can develop an relationship through their shared Trauma. When the Invincible war happens, Rex will sacrifice himself to take one down. She will survive, but be even fricked up as a result, as the views get slapped with heavy feels.
That's what I think will happen.
I still hate her for hooking up with Immortal and then getting on Rex's ass.
Rex straight up lied to her about his relationship with Eve to get into her pants. I don't understand how morons fail to fricking understand this isn't a double standard. She dumped his ass and hooked up with Immortal.
She didn't tell him until he caught her
monstergirl was so damn sexy....
yeah, in monster form
Did the second half of season 2 come out?
did Rex pop her cherry?
Yes
According to the comic, yes. Her dad goes on detail how much sex they had to Mark.
post the page
It's like 80 pages in, I don't care enough to go through it all to get that one page.
she's gonna get killed by an alternate invincible instead now
>She and Rex end up in a wholesome relationship.
>Invincible War happens, and while she almost gets killed, she is saved by Rex who sacrifices himself to take down the evil Invincible saving her life as well.
>Rae becomes even more traumatised and depressed.
I'm guessing she is going to be killed by Conquest now
I don't mind rex living if he gets the same arc he did after this. I hated rex dying after he chilled out.
Not a big loss
How come nobody cares about season 2 part 2? Was it really THAT big of a mistake to split the season in two?
For those who read the comics, cast him for the show
I think Kirkman said in a Penvincipals letters section that he'd want clancy brown and honestly that's who I was thinking anyway. Not sure about the human voice though, I guess Matthew Lillard? Since they've clearly got VA money to spare.
Ron Perlman. Minimal makeup.
We sure Kate was killed off?
AFAIR the comic made it look like she was, but then revealed later than she used to keep copy no. 0 around just in case.
>We sure Kate was killed off?
The show is identical to the comics in most of the ways that matter most.
The biggest and most painful change to the plot is we were robbed of sexy bug women.
>we were robbed of sexy bug women
WTF DROPPING
