I bet her vegana looks old ham smeared with lipstick.
What is wrong with you?
3/4 of Cinemaphile posters are teens triying to be edgy
The saddest thing is that they're probably in their 30s, actually
It's almost definitely a bot, you morons.
>you morons
NO, U DA BOT!
R.I.P
>co-creator of Vampirella
Damn. F.
Godspeed
F
rip
RIP
This is real? God damn it, we lost another good one. Mods, sticky now.
she criticized my boi Crumb, but she designed Vampirella's costume, so all is forgiven. RIP
She had a stroke a month or so prior to her death
Oh shit so the vaxx really did kill her.
Rest in peace ma'am
F
Damn. RIP. Here's a bit about her work and influence from comicbook.com
>Trina Robbins, the cartoonist and artist known for her decades-long career in the underground comix movement, has passed away at the age of 85. The news was broken on Wednesday night, with comic writer Gail Simone paying tribute to Robbins in a Facebook post. Beginning in the 1970s, Robbins became one of the most instrumental female voices in underground comix, contributing to or editing a number of anthologies or papers. She was also a prolific advocate for chronicling the history of women in comics and cartooning, publishing over half a dozen books on the subject.
>In addition to her unground work, Robbins designed the original costume for Warren Publishing's heroine Vampirella, and was the first-ever woman artist to draw DC's Wonder Woman. Robbins illustrated the character on the 1986 four-issue miniseries The Legend of Wonder Woman, and wrote the 1998 one-shot Wonder Woman: The Once and Future Story. She even cameoed in 1989's Wonder Woman Annual #2.
Criminy. First Ramona Fradon, now her. F.
Oh geez, rest in peace.
>The biggest coomer was a woman all along
Does this honestly surprise you? Women can be fricking degenerate as hell.
F
Makes sense. Women love women and the only ones that don't are obese c**ts or jealous morons.
The best erotic art was always drawn by women. Cuz they know from personal experience how women’s bodies look, work, bend, etc.
Rest in peace
Legendary. RIP.
I believe there's an Andreas Feininger photo of the door to a disco, and there are a pair of those Vampirella posters covering the windows. Can't find it, though.
>85 years old dies
I bet it was the vaccine!
F.
We lost her and Ramona Fradon in the span of two months.
Damn. F
Rest in peace.
can you 2 like... shut the frick up?
>a thread died for an old c**t that nobody cares about
>you're taking the oxygen from someone else who deserves to live
kys edgelord.
Rip
F
she was working up until the end. so good for her
Dick status?
If she was having none at the time I could have saved her bros...
Oh look, another relevant obituary thread not sticky'd. A proud tradition.
Does Cinemaphile have its own version of "got a sticky/didn't get a sticky" like Cinemaphile and Cinemaphile do?
You could try using the feedback form at the bottom of this page. If enough people ask, maybe the thread will get stickied?
every time a /co creator passes away, this comes up, and half the time the jannies and what passes for mods on this mongolian basketweaving fruit stand either never reply, have no clue or don't care or a combination of all of those.
if hiromoot wasn't such a trash heap of an owner, they would refine the global rules so that the passing of a /creator with enough history to warrant a thread would get a sticky for at least a few days.
while the cartoon only anons wouldn't care because most of them rarely think beyond the VA actors or the fap/waifu characters, once it starts happening on the regular for those creatives as well, they would likely STFU
You be better off listing the few that did. I don't think I could remember more than four or five comics creators that got stickies on this board and I've been here for a decade.
Fredon just got one, Stan Lee got one, Neal Adams got one - don't get me wrong, I don't disagree with you that it should happen more frequently, but if you have been here a decade and consistently so, I'm confident it's FAR more than 1 or 2 besides the three I just mentioned off the top of my head without giving it even any thought at all.
Robert Beerbohm
M.D. Bright
Laurent De Brunhof
Enrique Ventura
Mike Thaler
Roger Noel Cook
Mutsumi Inomata
Lynne Barasch
Staphane Rosse
Chance Browne
Glad to see someone include Ventura
Most of them are kind of obscure. (Ventura doesn't even have a wiki page) I was looking for Brunhof and just listed every co-related death from the last month I found along the way that I didn't notice get a mention here.
>from the last MONTH
Damn.
If we're talking just the last month, then you forgot Scott Blair. I know he was obscure as frick, but he was a talented guy.
Pretty much just March and yeah, those were taken from wiki's deaths list for what they consider notables so there's liable to be a lot of indie and fandom personalities who pass relatively unnoticed outside of their respective circles.
FRICK.
I had to google this to see if it was real. Trina is a LEGEND in "underground comics". She also did some interesting work for Marvel and other publishers in the 80s.
Someone should storytime Misty or something.
F.
Who?
>mommy, mommy, i hate you so much, please breast feed me, mommy!!!
RIP
F.
the way she drew that SAME little shadow under ALL the noses was annoying.
And she sold to the corporations, doing Vampirella designs and Wonder Woman. Hardly "underground", more like massive sell out. And she couldnt draw worth shit, either.
And she showed how much class she didn't have by attacking Crumb indirectly, by saying Aline was "married to to child pornographer". Very classy indeed.
I can’t think of what she was referring to specifically. That story where the kid fricks his mom?
Trina appears in Crumb (1994) where she voices her disappointment with how he turned his back on the hippie movement and positive representations of women to, yes, draw the story about how the family commits incest
>more like massive sell out
Massive sell out implies something like Jim Davis and Garfield, or something like Millar, who literally has sold himself and his wife, not just Millarworld, to Netflix.
I would not call either of them sell outs ironically, sell out implies you had some level of integrity before you sold out, Jim Davis was just a casual guy making a comic strip based on his cat, it was always going to be merchandisable.
>Inb4 Bill Watterson said
Shut up.
Millar likewise, was always the sort of idiot who never cared about comics, to him comics are only good as a pitch medium for Hollywood.
He sadly isn't wrong as long as morons continue to defend the short story format and call anything with more than 5 panels dedicated to a fight a "anime rip off that is missing frames."
>it was always going to be merchandisable
Like Peanuts?
That sure changed it's tone!
"Selling out" is a mentality only spoiled, well off people have. Underground wasn't underground because they didn't want to sell out, they were underground because no one else would publish them at first.
