I'm honestly not surprised the latest movie Transformers Rise of Beasts under performed. Transformers may not be dead as a brand yet but it's really struggling and shit like Earth Spark does not help. Hasbro is such a mess nowadays that not even MLP can salvage them anymore.

I don't know how much it made and if it is considered a failed movie, but I want to note that the previous movie was well received because it moved from the big war between factions, being focused in the relationship bewtween Bee and his human friend. Now they just returned to the old Bay's format, and we have had a lot of movied about that.

The thing everyone talked about was the 3 minutes of Cybertron footage. don't kid yourself. People would've traded the Bumblebee movie for another Bay movie with G1 designs like that in a. heart beat.

Wheeljack fits exactly with the Bayfication of what was done in Bumbleebe. Except Wheeljack was deemed worthy of being completely fricked up unlikely everyone else who were just slightly fricked up.
Bumblebee certainly didn’t flop. It costed under $200 million, marketing included and then made more than double of that, sold plenty of merch and had strong home media sales. If anything Bumblebee being profitable is why RotB was made in the first place.
I thought it was alright for what it was. most of it was African American dialect, if it was, which I assume, written by white writers it's gonna sound off, and even more so when it's white people hearing it
Ah yes. Riggers are clean and articulate, normally, but when white people write them, they just sound unintelligible, like some sort of money babbling.
The opening weekend was decent enough. I’ll go out of a limb and tell you straight on that the stupid G.I. Joe teaser destroyed any good will people had over this movie and any sequels if they go down this path. People want to see the robots not humans, and since the last G.I. Joe movie flopped hard it does give the impression that G.I. Joe is leeching off Transformers.
GI Joe are not ordinary humans; they have gimmicks, codenames and personalities that make them larger than life and more in keeping with Transformers. I generally agree about humans in Transformers but they're not going away so you might as well have fun ones. There's a long precedent of crossovers. Many of them quite good. Marvel did it, the G1 cartoon did it, Dreamwave did it, Devil's Due did it, official Transformers toys did it, IDW did it, Skybound is doing it
I agree with this, if anything making humans actually interesting by having them be larger than life, gimmick characters would probably be the best way around it
All good points, but do you honestly trust the movie people to make G.I. Joe not suck and for them to not make the humans upstage the robots?
No but almost none of the Transformers movies or GI Joe movies have been good anyway, at least this is something different and has a chance of being good.

RotB has so many weird toys it's hard to say what was based on old drafts and what was entirely made up because Hasbro felt like it.
