This is a thread for discussing Robins, all of them. Who are your favorites? Who are your least favorites?
I just read this comic and it wasn't that bad. Far less than Cinemaphile would've had me believe.
My favorite Robin? Dick.
My least favorite Robin? Damien.
The more they frick them up the more I think we should have only had Dick
People who say this always seem like the type who are most familiar with the DCAU and TT03 and are bitter the comics aren't just that.
Opposite for me, I was never into the DCAU and hated TT03 because I had read a few comics first. I feel as if a lot of the weird presentation and mystique of these characters is gone
at least even gays like dick (heh)
FPBP literally just roll back the DCU to the World's Finest era and be done with it.
DC had the right idea with the Nu52 they just pussied out.
>Dick
>Then Jason
>Jason dies
>Bruce is traumatized
>Damian happens
There.
>Damian happens
He specifically doesn't need to happen.
Talia is a strong girl...
For you
I'm just surprised Carrie hasn't been pushed into modern comics.
>Carrie
>covered legs
Trash.
Here, just for you 🙂
Why do they keep on making Damian brown? Talia wasn't brown. She's Arab/Chinese. Damian should be just as light as his dad.
The fact that they trying to push Talia and her evil family as arab is actually more racist.
>Talia wasn't brown.
She is now.
My tit Queen
I LOVE DICK
I LOVE JASON
Tim.
I LOVE STEPH
I LOVE DAMIAN
>I LOVE DAMIAN
Hey Jon.
>Damien
*Damian
I saw it spelled Damien earlier and it just got me. I jobbed. Its over. I must kill myself now.
Also frick Damian. I don't like him for the same reason I don't like Miles. They force him into every Batman related thing. His only tolerable version is in the Harley Quinn show.
Nah, he's based.
He isn't. As Robin, he is the worst thing to happen to Batman
Is what I would say if I was having a stroke and losing my mental facilities, alas he is shit. Dick >>>> Jason >>>>> Steph >>>>>>>>>> Carrie >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tim >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Damian
Honestly, when you think about it, he really didn't add anything positive to the bat mytho.
That's why I like him. By all means "Batman has a son" should be a happy story that closes the book on Batman...but Damian isn't that perfect kid. He's the fruit of his own follies, his mission as Batman, his compromising. An uncomfortable monkey's paw. He has a blood family again..but it's a burden.
>fruit of his own follies
Are we victim blaming Bruce?
I still think the rape explanation is bullshit, but Bruce fricked around with Talia before and sex always has that risk. He would've never encountered Talia is he was never Batman.
The original Son of the Demon story, which debuted Damian, had the two marry and consensually conceive Damian. Then Talia lied about miscarrying and gave Damian away for adoption.
And why the frick did she do that
Because R'as is fricking crazy and Talia realized that she even put her father ahead of her husband and child and felt guilt. she didn't want the baby in this absolute mess of a life or to be used as collateral.
It's amazing how much not reading that story completely changed Talia's character on Morrison's end.
Ah Grant Morrison.. also why is there no (you). That is my post you're responding too.
I'd like to see a story where Damian meets his alternate self that was given to an unknown happy family.
The problem isn't him being a good kid or not, the problem is that his character is a burden on Batman. His existence makes Batman look bad because he can't ignore him while at the same time he actually doesn't work well with him.
>the problem is that his character is a burden on Batman. His existence makes Batman look bad because he can't ignore him while at the same time he actually doesn't work well with him.
You find that uninteresting, I myself do.
Because you are already like him. I like Batman and I think Damian is the worst thing to happened to him.
It's definitely not Fitzmartin's worst work, but most people dislike it mainly because of what they do with Tim and Bernard.
>Bernard
Out of all the names in the world.. why the frick did they choose that one?
so the ship name could be TimBer
Bernie was a common name for old gays for whatever reason
Bernard was an already existing character, they just brought him back and changed him considerably.
There are people who want some male on male bait in our comics.. uh... I know, make Tim bi and pair him with that literal who.
>But sir the people ship Tim and Kon
DO IT!
>Okay
oh shit that didn't work so well.
The thing is that the Bat-Editorial doesn't control Kon.
Fair enough.
Arab = brown duh
>Arab = brown duh
No it doesn't.
Don't tell me, tell the morons who make fanart and legit art for DC.
That and it broke Tim and Steph up off-panel.
Don’t forget having it be revealed he ghosted her, lied to his friends about her, only talked to her because he ran into her by chance and was forced to by cass and Conner, and then gave her a half-assed apology which we found out was a lie when he was talking to Conner Hawke.
That was a later story, just with the same shitty writer.
Honestly, I used to like Tim more than Jason but they made Tim so pointless now I think my ranking is dick, Jason, Damien, Tim. I don't really rank Steph and Carrie. Mostly because Steph I see as Batgirl and Carrie I think stands fine on her own and shouldn't be touched but if I ranked her is put her with or just below Dick.
>damian hate
is it racism?
I like all Robins.
Fair enough RyGOD..
Dick is my favorite fictional character so it's a far comparison to the others but my ranking would go
Dick=Damian>Pre UTRH Jason>Steph>Tim>Post UTRH Jason
Fave? Damien (frick you).
Worst? Tim (please, just kill him).
I'll take Tim Drake over Damian Nobody Asked For You Rape Baby Wayne any day.
I don't know who the frick drew this but why does Bruce look younger than Dick?
>Tim could only carry a book when he was straight and had girlfriends
lmao
It's not just that. Tim's character has been entirely devoted to Bernard since they got together. If he shows up, Bernard is mentioned. He gets put in books like the Pride specials only because of Bernard. It's now his core character trait- he's the Robin who dates Bernard.
You know out of 100 issues of robin Dixon wrote, Steph's only in about 40 of them? And they're not even dating for half of them and a lot of their relationship is off panel. Before that he had another, civilian girlfriend...and a lot of their relationship was ALSO off panel even more because guess what, while heroes dating civilians can have plenty material for stories there's only so much you can do with that.
Sounds like someone has self inserted into Bernard and is a big Tim fan.
Doesn’t help Bernard has the personality of wet cardboard and they have Tim diminish his previous relationships by calling them “settling” or referring to Stephanie as a “reminder” he couldn’t be his true self like Bi people can’t truly be happy in a f/m relationship.
That's because bi people are hated by the alphabet mafia and /misc/sters. I've seen first hand at how guys and gals who say they're bi but are in a relationship with the opposite sex are treated. Like wow Amy, just because you're with Josh doesn't mean you've suddenly found other women unattractive or hey Bob I hear you're tonguing Mary's muff like there's no tomorrow, I guess that means you suddenly don't find Henry Cavill hot.
Blame Fitzmartin for woobifying and fetishizing m/m relationships, not to mention teasing timkon as if she’s cable of writing that or anything else well. Considering in one of her interviews she said “there was nothing heterosexual about Tim and Bernard’s original friendship”, maybe if she actually read the source material she would have seen Tim actively disliked Bernard and limited his time with him. The most people have to say they where friends is that “I think I might end up liking Bernard” panel but willfully ignore the rest of their interactions.
>Woman
>fetishizing m/m
Well count me SHOCKED
>1 - 20 of 5,837,678 Works in M/M
I only have seen women/teenage girls squealing over timber. Saw one thing on tumblr of someone getting ripped into because they said “they prefer timber over timsteph, but they don’t read comics”, seriously I don’t know why DC is catering to a market that doesn’t buy comics. You’d think after the negative reception to Bernard/Tim’s failure of a solo run after they pushed him in everything they would cut their loses.
They could give me a pairing I like and I'd still only read it on RCO but yeah.
God damn. No wonder manga moggs so hard
I have never paid a cent for any comic I've read.
>shoehorning in Damian
I get why Tim fans might not like Damian, but I don’t get why Dick fans hate Jason so much.
